- This is what I set out to do - to experience things for the first time and visit places I had never been to before - there is a lot of that in this episode!
From camping on the banks of the Orange River at Blouputs to discovering the Hot Springs at Riemvasmaak.
Rolling into the ghost town that is Putsonderwater only to find it is very much alive....
To smashing the biggest burger ever in Orania of all places!
Just on 1000km in 2 days - think we deserve a break after this one!
Enjoy...
Marius, Milla, Jamie and Oscar
River rafting on the Orange River done many moons ago but remember it more as a booze cruise 😂 and yes its such a beautiful part of SA - thanks for your "far travels" its well worth it 🚙 💨
Thanks for following and being such a loyal fan.
I’m gonna visit Orania not only to see how far it is, but to have one of those burgers. 😁
Great episode as always mr. M, crew and pups. 🤙🏻
How nuts are those burgers?!?! I couldn’t believe it...

Thank you for this production.. 😢I have always wanted to do this. A solo trip. How much budget do I need. 🙂🙂This is so cool. U have a new subscriber.
Thank you so much!!!! What a cool message...
The vehicle and all the gear were on loan so I didn't have to outlay any money on that. So the trip itself was only running costs - fuel, food and a few places on the trip we didn't stay in our roof top tent so had to pay accommodation.
You can do trips like this without the overlanding component but then your accommodation cost increases because you cant wild camp or stay in camp sites, which are very affordable - you would have to book into B&B's or find spots on Airnbnb. Obviously getting yourself and your car kitted out to overland would be a far greater cost.
So with our set up and the trip we did - 5500km in 30 days - the running costs were R25k - R30k.
@@MariusRobertsProductions thanks man😊😊
That road with full of potholes looks like ,that same road when you going to the Boarder of Botswana. Exactly ythe same condition.
The locals call it the Magashule Highway 🙈
Owe me a few Buffalos, when i see you again !
Only one and that was just to check that you were watching...
Ps what basic camera equipment would I need .?
How is the Isuzu in these gravel and transition to to road?
The Isuzu has always had a fantastic reputation on the gravel roads and with us carrying load & running lower pressures on our Grabbers, it was really comfortable even on the worst corrugations...cruising on tar is the easy stuff
Hi did you have to carry exstra fuel ? And could a female do this on her own ??
Hey Elsa
Thanks for your message!
The routing I took is very safe - the distances between towns wasn't that far that I needed extra fuel or too remote that if something did go wrong, I would be stuck in the middle of nowhere. The most remote part of my trip was up the West Coast from Elands Bay to Hondeklipbaai - you can go without seeing people for ages which is what makes it so special.
So yes, from a safety perspective I certainly think its something you could do on your own as a woman.
In terms of equipment, I had a DJI Osmo Pocket as my main camera, a drone (DJI Air 2) and my Sony Action Camera (Go-Pro or similar). I also had audio equipment because when interviewing people, the Osmo Pocket's standard audio isn't ideal BUT if you not planning on doing that and just want to capture your trip, its a fantastic camera.
