    TOTALLY AWESOME Weapons!! I love the .45 . Great review, and really good shooting keep it up . Try a blank firing bullet, and practice your squeeze on the trigger. I like to do something I learned in the UNITED STATES MARINES . It is called-BRASS
    Breathe
    Relax
    Aim
    Stop
    Squeeze
    Good luck, and GOD BLESS

    Commentend on the # 2 video you made but will say the same here. Have a Colt Competition in .38 Super. This is my carry gun now since I retired my .45 ACP. The .45 ACP have over 80 K rounds through it and the 2nd barrel in it, a ED-Brown Pipe. The base is from a Ruger R1, that i ''enhanced'' long before Ruger did it. Mine has actually a few things done to it that Ruger did not do to their enhanced model. The Wilson magazines are not very durable, (for me who shoot a lot) the plastic follower wares out and will fail to lock the slide back. It is annoying for magazines that is very expensive, it is very difficult to find replacement parts.

    • @tristaneuritt9556
      @tristaneuritt9556  Před rokem

      That's interesting comments. I wonder if wilson does that so the follower gets the wear over the slide stop. What magazines do you recommend, from your other comment it seems you recommend the Colt magazines with steel followers, is that correct? Any experience with other magazines?

    • @norseman5041
      @norseman5041 Před rokem

      @@tristaneuritt9556 my experience is that steel followers are the best, plastic work awesome for some time. Then not so much, I don't understand why they cheap out and put plastic garbage in a other vice perfect magazine. A metal follower in the mag should not make any ware onto the slide stop. The mags that came with the .38 super from colt is working well, they have steel follower. Problem is, every maker of magazines has made all kinds of variations, so it is a hit or miss seems like. I don't get it, everyone knows for a gun to cycle perfect, the magazine must be 100%. Still so many manufacturers put garbage magazines with their gun's, giving a perfect working gun a bad rep just because of the mag. If I made guns, I would make dame sure the feeding system was quality from one end to the other. I have used so many different over the years ED-Brown, Wilson, Colt, Remington and brands I not even remember LOL.

      @@norseman5041 So I did some more research into this issue of plastic followers and I read that some people claimed that some company's slide stops chew up the plastic followers and others do not. So I marked two of my Wilson 47 magazines and will only use them for awhile to see what the results are.

    I love Colt guns...but all the 1911's I've held in the last few years has sharp edges on the slide, trigger guard, slide serrations, dust cover. Attention to detail is important and that should be addressed before being finished and boxed up.

    You need to remove fingers from hitting the slide man, you don’t drive a 1911 like that.
    If that’s how you do it, just know that flat out wrong. Not only tearing up hands but also cause malfunctioning…stop, change what you do. Train through it.
    I say this with love in my heart, not condemnation.

      I appreciate your comment. I actually used to be afraid of putting my hands up near the slide, as i figured placing my thumbs near that cycling object would be a bad idea. Then I watched this video of some professionals shooting and noticed they had their thumbs there. I tried it. I've found it to be a wonderful grip for me to shoot with, so far I've not had any malfunctions.

    Do you know my friend the differents from Colt gold cup ?

    • @tristaneuritt9556
      @tristaneuritt9556  Před rokem +4

      I've only handled a friend's gold cup once so take this with a grain of salt... 1) the Gold cup has a regular grip safety/hammer, the competition has a beavertail 2) the sights on the gold cup are bor mar style adjustable target, the competition has novaks adjustable style sight. I've heard sometimes the gold cup sights have problems with the pins walking out from recoil. The front sight on the gold cup is just plain black, competition is fiber optic 3) the trigger on the gold cup is wider 4) I believe there is checkering on the front strap on the gold cup, the competition lacks that 5) the mainspring housing on the competition is plastic, I'm not sure but I'm thinking on the gold cup it's steel. 6) the gold cups slide is milled down some on the top and IIRC has some serrations or checkering there.
      There may be other things but that's what comes to my mind. To put it simply I think the competition is geared towards people who are doing tactical sporting events, three gun, etc. The Gold cup is geared towards bullseye style old school target shooting.
      I think both guns are fine firearms.

      The Colt Competition 70 series has a titanium firing pin. I bet you didn’t know that. The trigger is a lot smoother to shoot. 1970s technology on its trigger makes it a better gun to shoot with.
      Although this gun is not a gold cup , it sure looks like one with its beautiful blue grips. The 1970s and 1980s trigger been under debate for years. Many experienced Colt fans prefer the 70 series cause it offers a much better shooting experience due to its unique trigger.
      People having a misconception that this gun is only used for competition shooting. Not exactly so. However if you were to enter into a Colt sponsored shooting competition, this gun would qualify.
      So if you had a gold cup Colt or a Colt Competition firearm then you would qualify to participate in a shooting event.
      I never thought that was fair because there are many Colt owners that customize their firearm to their specifications. I hear many will change out the spring on their Colt Defenders for a Kimber spring cause it shoots better also making it easier to move your slide plus take it apart with less hassle.
      I have seen guys show up at a Colt sponsored event bringing a regular Colt 1911 and be denied to shoot cause it didn’t meet Colts strict qualifications for competition shooting.
      I really never understood why they only accepted Gold cup and Colt Competition gun owners to only participate. I guess these type of firearms would offer an advantage tune experience shooter.
      Colt would also have separate events allowing anyone to shoot as long as it was a Colt.
      I personally own a Colt Competition and a Colt Defender. At the first look at of a Colt Competition, many will think it’s a Gold Cup until they look at the slide showing Colt competition 70 series.
      I asked the owner at the gun shop what he thought about the Colt competition firearm. He likes the trigger on it much better.
      The Colt competition can be used not just for competition shooting, but for self-defense shooting situation. It is a very heavy gun to carry for every day use, but it can be done.
      I carry the Colt Defender for conceal carry purposes. Don’t get me wrong even the Colt Defender is a heavy gun but a nice to carry. I have small hands so the Colt Defender is perfect for me.
      I’m just glad that Colt CZ has not messed with its name. I hope that they continue to leave the name alone.
      My final thought on the Colt competition 70 series. A firearm that any serious collector must have in their collection plus the Colt Defender with cherry color grips.
      A Gold Cup it’s more expensive than a Colt competition firearm but you can’t go wrong in getting one.
      Originally, I had to put my Colt competition on layaway. I got mine for $1,100 got a brake on the sales tax. The sales rag was showing $1,300
