Note: the legendary Robin Hood didn't actually wear green...he wore red like Roy and some tellings place him at Roy's usual mid-to-late teens (so he can more easily annoy Prince John and the Sheriff of Nottingham). Lincoln Graine in the legend was mistaken for green like Ollie's, but it was actually reddish-brown similar to the Arsenal suit.
I honestly love the inclusion of Zatanna and Green Arrow, but I also can’t seem to let go of my boy MM, maybe it’s because I love the way he’s depicted in Justice League and Justice League unlimited, he’s seen as the soul of the league and has been done dirty by literally every other inclusion of him so I’d love to see more recognition sent his way in a positive light.
I agree. I like the inclusion of Green Arrow right from the start but i don’t think its a smart idea to include him since his show already gave him popularity and i feel like we should use this opportunity to introduce new lesser known characters to the mainstream like the Avengers movie did to Black Widow and Hawkeye. Also that and the fact we’d have another “Green” character in Green Lantern. I would personally wait to introduce GA til the second maybe third JL movie and replace him with Martian Manhunter or Hawkgirl since they have unique characteristics and stories to make them stand out in a team like the JL and they’ve famously been on the team before with Zatanna, who I would still keep

Zatana great, but check out justice league dark. She’s part of a purely magical and spiritual based version of the justice league that primarily deals with threats that Superman and Green Lantern and such can’t take on physically. Batman joins justice league dark quite often as well.

Remember after the Crisis+Zero Hour fixing some early bugs from Post-Crisis+Infinite Crisis retroboot, it was made so that 8 mirrored the founding of the JSA and they came up with "Diana cleared her schedule first" in the early days so that they could keep both her and Black Canary on the team and have Black Canary present for the Appellaxian Invasion to found the league. Black Canary also serves two purposes 1. Same reason why Hawkwoman is in the Timmverse Founding- a girl next door and making it so that Diana's not the only founding lady. 2. Well how do you suppose Ollie got recruited after the crisis? 😂

Ok here’s what I’d do for the line up. From what it seems like, James Gunn might be building towards a live action justice league new frontier. If that’s the case this movie could have a lot of characters but in the end of the movie the main 7 are established as the main roster of the league. This league movie can consist of Batman nightwing and robin( Damian), Superman super girl, Wonder Woman wonder girl, both Barry flash and Wally as kid flash, both hal and John green lantern, man hunter, the titans, etc… basically just like the new frontier when there were so many characters and it wasn’t just the core 7. By the end of this story hal goes back to space with lantern corps while John stays. Something happens to Barry( trapped in speed force, dies, loses his powers, etc) and wally takes the mantle of flash. Now we have a justice league that consists of Batman Superman Wonder Woman flash green lantern hawkgirl and manhunter
I believe we deserve the classic team-up we've known through DC animated movies, with a good, light-hearted story this time. Imagine Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman (the classic trinity), Hal Jordan's Green Lantern, Aquaman/Hawkgirl, Barry's Flash, and Cyborg/J'onn J'onzz all together. It would be an epic adventure!
i like the idea of both lanters being on the founding team cause they will already be partners in the buddy cop green lantern series, it would only make sense to have both in the main line. their companionship wd work as a bridge that links the stoic and experienced members (jon with batman, green arrow and wonder woman) and the cheerful young heroes (hal with the flash, zatana and superman)
I love the justice league member roaster from justice league unlimited animated show, comprising of superman, batman, wonder woman, wally west flash, green lantern john stewards, Martian man hunter, and hawkgirl.
Nice roster overall, and I think it does leave some nice room to expand with the future films. Plotting how I think it would grow in those films, I'm grouping characters into "Waves" of when I think they'd be likely to join. Wave 1 would focus on expanding the world, so would be more "Outsider" picks. 3 of the 4 members of this wave fall into this category. Those four are: Aquaman. Hawkgirl. Martian Manhunter. Black Canary. Black Canary is the pick that isn't an outsider, but gets to join early because of her ties with Ollie. Wave 2 would be focused on bringing in a "New Generation" to the group, with 2 of the 4 being Titans call-ups and only one being a veteran hero. The four members of Wave 2 are: Cyborg. Shazam. Supergirl. Mr. Terrific. Cyborg and Supergirl are the rising members of the Titans, Shazam gets a bit of a rest from his old DCU movie counterpart, and Mr. Terrific is one of the ones who's already been cast by James Gunn that I think they can just slot into this wave. Wave 3 is where the wildcards come in. The more oddball picks that you'd not really expect to work in the group, but they manage to pull something off. Those four are: Booster Gold. Plastic Man. Vixen. Firestorm.

Oh yeah...easy to do when Charlie Parker/Chal'andar, Teen Titans spy-bird that they didn't see coming despite looking like a mini-Hawkman called himself Golden Eagle.
I think this is great highkey. Especially with Zatanna. I love John Stewart although I have a bias towards Kyle Rayner only cause he’s an artist (so coolest constructs). But like idk I know a lot of ppl didn’t like them but felt Jessica Cruz & Simon Baz went underrated. Especially Cruz as she has to actively overcome her fear. This is a dope line up! You’re right, not enough ppl know about the supernatural aspect and zatanna is a good intro.

I think the first Flash in the DCU Justice League should be Jay Garrick. Presumably the first 3 chapters of the DCU is going to build up to Darkseid and if after that they do multiverse, cause they will seeing how most of DC's biggest stories outside of ones featuring Darkseid are tied to the multiverse, then it makes sense they do Crisis On Infinite Earths as the event they are building up to and since Barry is the Flash who vanishes in Crisis.

Roy Harper was raised by the Navajo and his second father Chief Brave Bow is the one who gave him basic training while Ollie added his circus tricks from Malcom Merlyn to it. Ollie's good, but he won't ever be on Roy's level. Roy was even codenamed Speedy in the first place because he's quicker on the draw...and he can chalk it up to being raised by the Navajo.
I would actually love if Batman and Green Arrow were a duo in the league. Since they’re the only ones without powers they would work well together to watch each others backs in either covert missions or when they have to take out the smaller guys while the rest of the league deals with the more powerful threats. Sort of like a Nightwing for Batman but less father/son and more brother-in-arms Plus I think Green arrow would be a nice counterpart to Batman’s serious demeanor and they’re dynamic could be really fun
for me i've always loved Barry allen Flash Batman Superman Wonder Woman Aquaman Green Arrow Black Canary Martian Manhunter and Hal Jordan GL mainly because ive already seen John Stewart as part of the JL because i grew up with JLU and JL and id like to see a good Hal adaptation where he's part of the JL
Honestly, for my core seven, I'm glad someone else considered having Zatanna on here. Though I would include MM instead of Green Arrow. MM has always been the soul of the team after all. My honorable mention would've actually been the Atom if we were having a Core of 8 instead of 7. He would provide a bulk of the scientific prowess of the team, but I feel that wouldn't be as necessary until the creation of a bigger base and so on.
For me I would be okay with a slightly large core Justice League if set up is done well. Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, Martian Manhunter, Black Canary, Green Arrow and Hawkgirl. For me Zatanna is Justice League Dark but do love her character
I agree with all these. The problem is the studio would never have green arrow on the same team as batman or green lantern. They will say something dumb like, that's alot of green on screen or 2 humans without powers is boring and Aarow is batman with arrows. But love this JL.
I think green arrow actually works really well for gunns tropes and tastes, kind of an old school superhero but who can be arrogant and snarky, I could totally see Gunn doing something really cool with him if he actually used him. Nervously anticipating the new Superman movie, praying it's nothing like anything else James Gunn has made
I like the Zatanna inclusion because she definitely needs more shine. However, I would prefer J'onn over Green Arrow because of the same reason as Zatanna. He brings something different both in powers and personality. My hesitation with that is that the line-up would be too close to the DCAU line-up......maybe the line up should be more than 7. 🤔🤔
This list is perfect but I woulda went with Martian man hunter bcuz he gives the alien aspect of the team because Superman was raised in earth and doesn’t rlly remember anything from krypton. Also man hunter learning and adapting earth customs is always cool to see. And he needs to be me in more stories and media. They been leaving my boy out. But w list besides that.
Just go with the founding members: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Hal Jordan GL (have Jon come in later to either replace Hal or fight alongside him), Barry Allen Flash (he needs to be done right in the movies for once. One last iteration that’s good before Wally takes over), Aquaman, and Martian Manhunter. Start it off with them or establish them as the founding members and then add or swap people in and out of the roster how they see fit in the next JL movies.

Personally, I would love to see James Gunn adapt the JLA lineup from Grant Morrison’s run. With a few differences, of course. Like John Stewart’s Green Lantern. But keep Wally West as The Flash and Martian Manhunter.
honestly, even if it’s characters that’s been before I would love to see comic book, accurate characters for the first time on screen because Batman’s always a brooding crimefighter, but that’s all they show wonder woman never gets enough light to what her character actually is Superman’s great but they don’t utilize them as the first superhero and hope like they used to they screw up the flash because they don’t know how to write them properly in TV without some time Bullshit and Green Lantern gets no love because they can’t write him either. At least that’s how I feel about it. The original justice league animated show did the best.
Should just be the DCAU lineup (Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash (personally I prefer Wally younger with the Young Justice, as I like him being the friend of Dick Grayson), John Stewart GL, Martian Manhunter, Hawkgirl). I think they should then quickly add Black Canary, Vixen, Mr Terrific, Ray Choi Atom, and a few others
Nah, start with Barry. The most interesting part of Wally is seeing him take on Barry’s mantle and trying to live up to him. All you’re doing by replacing Barry with Wally is a name change as Barry already was the youngest member on the previous team. Also let’s actually have a more comics accurate Barry already. Ezra and even Gustin were just Barry in name only as you alluded. As for Lantern, Gunn might go for a more JLi but inspired roster so Guy would possibly make sense there.
I'm 90% positive he's going with the Justice League International lineup based on what characters are being introduced on the onset, which I'm honestly excited by because it basically mean other than Martian Manhunter and Batman none of the usual suspects are on the team
Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman are just mandatory to me. Oddly, so is Martian Manhunter. These veterans bring institutional memory. I want a magician and a scientist there, so I’m adding Amethyst and the speedster Fast Track. Gotta have a GL, and I chose Jon Stewart. Finally, as the raw rookie, add Jamie Reyes Blue Beetle. That’s eight-a manageable number.
John Stewart is most people’s Green Lantern (and mine) because of the Justice League cartoon. Make him the main Green Lantern and have Have Hal as a legacy character through flashbacks.

We're getting the Guy who has played Hal before as Gardner for this one. It will be JLI core. That gives a lineup of Bats, Martian, Elongated Man, Guy, Captain Atom, Captain Marvel, Blue & Gold, Fire, Ice, Rocket Red and Black Canary as the initial line-up...and maybe this time Black Canary won't miss Guy's "belting" by Batman.
Yeah Green Arrow is a great choice . One of the first to join after the original 5 or 6 members. Brings some conscience and humanity to it. Helps the god like characters remember the little guy, the basic humans they are trying to protect. Also black canary should be on the team and they should be a power duo. :)
Um, the DCU has plenty of financially stacked heroes (and villains too). So Bruce would definitely have assistance and the other teams have their own pockets
I think a Justice League roster should be dependent on where the League is at. A Justice League origin story should just stick with a traditional founding team with Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Hal Jordan, Barry Allen, Arthur Curry, Oliver Queen, Black Canary, and Martian Manhunter. I think that a more experienced Justice League should replace Hal, Barry, Arthur, and Ollie with John, Wally, Kaldur, and Connor along with new members like Mr. Terrific, Plastic Man, Dr. Fate, Hawkman, and Cyborg.
Superman Batman Wonder Woman Flash GL John Stewart or Kyle Rainer Zatanna And Martian Manhunter assembling the team. You could potentially sub in Green Arrow for Batman.

Now we have a justice league that consists of Batman Superman Wonder Woman flash green lantern hawkgirl and manhunter
I believe we deserve the classic team-up we've known through DC animated movies, with a good, light-hearted story this time. Imagine Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman (the classic trinity), Hal Jordan's Green Lantern, Aquaman/Hawkgirl, Barry's Flash, and Cyborg/J'onn J'onzz all together. It would be an epic adventure!
i like the idea of both lanters being on the founding team cause they will already be partners in the buddy cop green lantern series, it would only make sense to have both in the main line. their companionship wd work as a bridge that links the stoic and experienced members (jon with batman, green arrow and wonder woman) and the cheerful young heroes (hal with the flash, zatana and superman)

Nice roster overall, and I think it does leave some nice room to expand with the future films.
Plotting how I think it would grow in those films, I'm grouping characters into "Waves" of when I think they'd be likely to join.
Wave 1 would focus on expanding the world, so would be more "Outsider" picks. 3 of the 4 members of this wave fall into this category. Those four are:
Aquaman.
Hawkgirl.
Martian Manhunter.
Black Canary.
Black Canary is the pick that isn't an outsider, but gets to join early because of her ties with Ollie.
Wave 2 would be focused on bringing in a "New Generation" to the group, with 2 of the 4 being Titans call-ups and only one being a veteran hero.
The four members of Wave 2 are:
Cyborg.
Shazam.
Supergirl.
Mr. Terrific.
Cyborg and Supergirl are the rising members of the Titans, Shazam gets a bit of a rest from his old DCU movie counterpart, and Mr. Terrific is one of the ones who's already been cast by James Gunn that I think they can just slot into this wave.
Wave 3 is where the wildcards come in. The more oddball picks that you'd not really expect to work in the group, but they manage to pull something off.
Those four are:
Booster Gold.
Plastic Man.
Vixen.
Firestorm.
You need Martian Manhunter on the team because he is telepathic and that ability helps bring the team together.
Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Wally West, Kyle Rayner, Aquaman, Hawkwoman, Connor Hawke and Zauriel adapting the early Morrision run only now we technically have three "Hawks" on the team since Zauriel was once confused for Katar Hol...how did Aquaman confuse his Eagle-Wings for Hawk wings? Oh yeah...easy to do when Charlie Parker/Chal'andar, Teen Titans spy-bird that they didn't see coming despite looking like a mini-Hawkman called himself Golden Eagle.
I think this is great highkey. Especially with Zatanna. I love John Stewart although I have a bias towards Kyle Rayner only cause he’s an artist (so coolest constructs). But like idk I know a lot of ppl didn’t like them but felt Jessica Cruz & Simon Baz went underrated. Especially Cruz as she has to actively overcome her fear.
This is a dope line up! You’re right, not enough ppl know about the supernatural aspect and zatanna is a good intro.

I think the first Flash in the DCU Justice League should be Jay Garrick. Presumably the first 3 chapters of the DCU is going to build up to Darkseid and if after that they do multiverse, cause they will seeing how most of DC's biggest stories outside of ones featuring Darkseid are tied to the multiverse, then it makes sense they do Crisis On Infinite Earths as the event they are building up to and since Barry is the Flash who vanishes in Crisis.
They did martian man hunter so wrong in the snyder verse that he deserves to be a founding member in the next justice league movie

Roy Harper was raised by the Navajo and his second father Chief Brave Bow is the one who gave him basic training while Ollie added his circus tricks from Malcom Merlyn to it.
Ollie's good, but he won't ever be on Roy's level. Roy was even codenamed Speedy in the first place because he's quicker on the draw...and he can chalk it up to being raised by the Navajo.

I would actually love if Batman and Green Arrow were a duo in the league. Since they’re the only ones without powers they would work well together to watch each others backs in either covert missions or when they have to take out the smaller guys while the rest of the league deals with the more powerful threats. Sort of like a Nightwing for Batman but less father/son and more brother-in-arms
Plus I think Green arrow would be a nice counterpart to Batman’s serious demeanor and they’re dynamic could be really fun
I like this lineup. It’s not like the usual. Green arrow and Batman might make a great bromance.
for me i've always loved Barry allen Flash Batman Superman Wonder Woman Aquaman Green Arrow Black Canary Martian Manhunter and Hal Jordan GL mainly because ive already seen John Stewart as part of the JL because i grew up with JLU and JL and id like to see a good Hal adaptation where he's part of the JL

Honestly, for my core seven, I'm glad someone else considered having Zatanna on here. Though I would include MM instead of Green Arrow. MM has always been the soul of the team after all. My honorable mention would've actually been the Atom if we were having a Core of 8 instead of 7. He would provide a bulk of the scientific prowess of the team, but I feel that wouldn't be as necessary until the creation of a bigger base and so on.

For me I would be okay with a slightly large core Justice League if set up is done well. Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, Martian Manhunter, Black Canary, Green Arrow and Hawkgirl. For me Zatanna is Justice League Dark but do love her character
I agree with all these. The problem is the studio would never have green arrow on the same team as batman or green lantern. They will say something dumb like, that's alot of green on screen or 2 humans without powers is boring and Aarow is batman with arrows. But love this JL.
I think green arrow actually works really well for gunns tropes and tastes, kind of an old school superhero but who can be arrogant and snarky, I could totally see Gunn doing something really cool with him if he actually used him. Nervously anticipating the new Superman movie, praying it's nothing like anything else James Gunn has made
I like the Zatanna inclusion because she definitely needs more shine. However, I would prefer J'onn over Green Arrow because of the same reason as Zatanna. He brings something different both in powers and personality. My hesitation with that is that the line-up would be too close to the DCAU line-up......maybe the line up should be more than 7. 🤔🤔

This list is perfect but I woulda went with Martian man hunter bcuz he gives the alien aspect of the team because Superman was raised in earth and doesn’t rlly remember anything from krypton. Also man hunter learning and adapting earth customs is always cool to see. And he needs to be me in more stories and media. They been leaving my boy out. But w list besides that.

Just go with the founding members: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Hal Jordan GL (have Jon come in later to either replace Hal or fight alongside him), Barry Allen Flash (he needs to be done right in the movies for once. One last iteration that’s good before Wally takes over), Aquaman, and Martian Manhunter. Start it off with them or establish them as the founding members and then add or swap people in and out of the roster how they see fit in the next JL movies.

honestly, even if it’s characters that’s been before I would love to see comic book, accurate characters for the first time on screen because Batman’s always a brooding crimefighter, but that’s all they show wonder woman never gets enough light to what her character actually is Superman’s great but they don’t utilize them as the first superhero and hope like they used to they screw up the flash because they don’t know how to write them properly in TV without some time Bullshit and Green Lantern gets no love because they can’t write him either. At least that’s how I feel about it. The original justice league animated show did the best.

I think they should then quickly add Black Canary, Vixen, Mr Terrific, Ray Choi Atom, and a few others

Nah, start with Barry. The most interesting part of Wally is seeing him take on Barry’s mantle and trying to live up to him.
All you’re doing by replacing Barry with Wally is a name change as Barry already was the youngest member on the previous team.
Also let’s actually have a more comics accurate Barry already. Ezra and even Gustin were just Barry in name only as you alluded.
As for Lantern, Gunn might go for a more JLi but inspired roster so Guy would possibly make sense there.
I'm 90% positive he's going with the Justice League International lineup based on what characters are being introduced on the onset, which I'm honestly excited by because it basically mean other than Martian Manhunter and Batman none of the usual suspects are on the team

I want a magician and a scientist there, so I’m adding Amethyst and the speedster Fast Track. Gotta have a GL, and I chose Jon Stewart. Finally, as the raw rookie, add Jamie Reyes Blue Beetle. That’s eight-a manageable number.

John Stewart is most people’s Green Lantern (and mine) because of the Justice League cartoon. Make him the main Green Lantern and have Have Hal as a legacy character through flashbacks.

That gives a lineup of Bats, Martian, Elongated Man, Guy, Captain Atom, Captain Marvel, Blue & Gold, Fire, Ice, Rocket Red and Black Canary as the initial line-up...and maybe this time Black Canary won't miss Guy's "belting" by Batman.
Yeah Green Arrow is a great choice . One of the first to join after the original 5 or 6 members. Brings some conscience and humanity to it. Helps the god like characters remember the little guy, the basic humans they are trying to protect. Also black canary should be on the team and they should be a power duo. :)

I think a Justice League roster should be dependent on where the League is at. A Justice League origin story should just stick with a traditional founding team with Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Hal Jordan, Barry Allen, Arthur Curry, Oliver Queen, Black Canary, and Martian Manhunter.
I think that a more experienced Justice League should replace Hal, Barry, Arthur, and Ollie with John, Wally, Kaldur, and Connor along with new members like Mr. Terrific, Plastic Man, Dr. Fate, Hawkman, and Cyborg.
I would also add red tornado but that's just me
