My AA son is an Apprentice here a very enthusiastic intelligent individual yet has experienced push back and being looked over when it comes to applying for positions or anything to do with advancement goals. It really wasn't anything he gave much thought about until put in situations where he was experiencing it and it just became very obvious and noticeable which really started to be frustrating to him, ended up just scratching his head about it,he's very driven and just an overall level heading person it's extremely sad that this even has to be an issue,yet you'll hear people say take advantage of opportunities but try to create obticales to delay process of those opportunities it's not right.
I worked there for 15yrs. I am white. I was a minority in the welding trade and got passed over for raises MANY times because I wasn’t black. This whole lawsuit and the idea that NNS has discriminatory hiring practices is ludicrous!
I worked there for over 2 weeks back in the 90s when I was fresh out of highschool. It sucks and I don't regret leaving.
Interesting thing all the pics of the shipyard in this news reports I primarily African Americans. I am confused!!!!

Define diversity? I don't see alot minioritis in mgmt and upper mgmt
