McMurchy Family left the old sod for America in 1820.Carving homes out of wilderness here in the states. This daughter of these pioneers still longs for home.Thank you for this.My DNA is still in the Highlands.xxoo
Even if I didn't have a "wee bit o' the Scots" in me, I would still find this beautiful. Both the singing and pictures were terrific. Thank you very much!!
Greetings from a Greek Stirling Uni. graduate to the most beautiful country and nicest people in the world.
Lovely to hear In The Bleak Midwinter, Silent Night and We Wish You a Merry Christmas sung in Gaelic.
THAT'S ...What I wanted to hear for CHRISTMAS! Thank you.

I wish to thank you for sharing this awesome music video with me
Fiona, a beutiful song I found of yours while looking for Scots great Music!!
Love it so much!!! Thank you!
This is so beautiful!! My first Ancestor was a Jacobite "transported" to the New World in 1716. The rest of his family came over the same year but not on a convict ship, but I am sure that there was great joy that season in the early Maryland Colony!
+David Donaldson , some of my Scottish ancestors were also Jacobite, they were sent to Boston, sold as indentured slaves, they ended up in New Hampshire, his name was John MacBean, he changed his name to Bean married his masters daughter, part of the family went on to found L.L. Bean catalog company in Maine.
+nfd1960 That is GREAT!!! It is interesting to see how much the Scottish people have contributed to this nation. My 5th G-Grandfather modified the spelling of his last name from Donaldson to Donelson, and was the Col. John Donelson of the American Revolution and one of the co-founders of Nashville, TN. The bagpipes and the Highland Fling must have been in his blood, for before you knew it country music was born.
We must all treasure our ancestors and their courage.
Merry Christmas from Yorktown, Virginia.
What a soulful performance!!!
Lovely voice, and I love the Gaelic!
Beautiful!
Beautiful voice and song, I wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year:)
nice to hear, thx for posting
So beautiful to us all. Nollaig Chridheil. My Jacobite ancestors.... made it to Nova Scotia....after Killiecrankie and Culloden......they were joined by many from the terrible clearances.
You and the blood of our people still remain here.
Tha a 'chlann na h-Alba a tha siorruidh (The children of Scotland are eternal)
God bless and be with you sister.
Nollaig Chridheil.
Tapadh leat! Beannachdan!
Should that not be "Tha clann na h-Alba siorruidh"?
John Devlin. I am expressing gratitude and wishing blessings, not using the common t'aing mor.. Yes I agree with the love and kinship expressed in the Gaelic words meaning "Children of Scotland forever". I have three quarter Highland Scottish heritage and one quarter heritage from the Ulster Irish (lowland Scots, because the first Scottish clearance to create room to graze sheep involved Lowlanders and Borderers and those Scots were removed to the six counties of Ulster) ...the major surname is Devlin among my Ulster Irish ancestors...I wonder if you and I are indeed kin.
I know this is 2 years late, but hello fellow Nova Scotian!
@ScottyUpNorth123 Se do bheatha- yo're welcome. It looks lovely here just now-very crisp and fresh and Ben Wyvis is stunning in the snow. Have a Happy Christmas!
Wonderful! I have also heard "Silent Night" translated into Irish and sung by Aine Minogue. Also lovely.
