I got this exact same model today. Mine was manufactured in December 2002.

Yeah, the Funai-built TV/VCR combos aren't the greatest. I actually had a couple, but I ended up selling them off. I got an Orion TVCR1321A for just $20, and it still works great.

The one i got last year is EWC1303. Still VERY sad the vcr does not work anymore at least it doesn't have a mode switch issue minus the every so often shut off when you try to reverse search a tape or stop it after recording something.

Hmmmm, it could be a mode switch, or a button problem.

@@SavageGame1998 but it developed this VERY VERY strange problem sadly with the video heads. The picture looks very unusually staticy from when my dad changed the lightbulb in my bedroom on oct 28 2020 and the tv was plugged into the outlet where the lightswitch was and by November and December that year i started noticing the picture in the left upper corner of the screen streaks of static and a bar of it going down on a white screen kinda like how an s vhs tape looks like on a non compatible vcr. I found a video head that is compatible with funai made vcrs and it just might work. Somehow that ruptured the heads because the light switch was on too. I should've had it unplugged or in a different spot and maybe that could've been prevented. Still miss the vcr to this day.
