In this guitar lesson we show you how to play Monster by Justin Bieber and Shawn Mendes on guitar. This is a new collaboration from these two artists and is becoming very popular. It's also a lot of fun to play on guitar.
The original song focuses heavily on synth and piano and there is no acoustic guitar, but in this video you will learn how to play Monster on acoustic guitar. The chords in this song are not easy beginner guitar chords, but I will show you how to play the song using a capo in order to make the chords easier to play on guitar. You can also play monster without using a capo with these same chords, but it will sound lower than the original recording of Monster. This could be a good thing if you are planning on singing the song yourself as Justin Bieber and Shawn Mendes both have a high vocal range.
The song has an interesting "feel" that is crucial to the sound of the song, so I will also break down a strumming pattern that will help capture the feel of the song.
