This is a full translation for the Kyatto Ninden Teyandee game released for NES. It's aimed to resemble english version of the cartoon as close as possible.
Why Samurai Pizza Cats and not Cat Ninden?
If you are interested in this game, then you probably know the whole story of the original anime and its Western adaptation.
Long story short, the characters portrayed in the original show have different names, occupations and personalities than in the dubbed cartoon. Since the game is set in the Cat Ninden universe, a straight translation would have to account for that.
There were two main reasons why I took a different route:
1. I originally got to know the show by watching the English cartoon, and liked it so much that I was motivated to make this translation in the first place.
2. Given the limited amount of space in the original rom, an exact translation would not be possible. Every piece of text needed to be appropriately abbreviated in order to fit the character limit and maintain cut-scene synchronization.
WHATS STILL MISSING
- due to character limit, there are no commas and apostrophes in the text
- characters' names in the credits remain untranslated
- some menus contain leftover accents which should be removed

I remember playing this 5-6 years old,sadly it was chinese and i didn't understand a single word,but it still was addicting.Now i can play this in some sort of emulator in english,but because of this video now i remember the name
+ArdooZ Aldo There is a Chinese translation? I have played this in Japanese, and have seen English and Russian translations, but never Chinese.
I am almost 100% certain it was Chinese,though my eyes could've played tricks on me and it actually was Japanese.

25 years ago in 1992, I was just 5 years old. This was my first ever NES video game. Seeing this longplay brings back so much memories... Thank you for playing this game for us.

0:20 Apparently, this music was in my head since childhood. One of the most memorable NES/FAMICOM/DENDY musical compositions out there! It brought tears to my ugly unshaven 40-years old face tonight, because I just remembered every note of that song just like it was yesterday when I was playing this game with my childhood friends... 😭

This is the one NES game I WATCHED friends play when I was a kid, but the memory is so fresh! Based on this video I see it does get some plot, character and even music, maybe the best NES game I have come across.

Even its graphics still look so good for todays standards, i mean with a bit of remaking some things it could even be a very cool new indie game nowdays. But they put so much care, the cutscenes are fun to watch and the whole visual language of the game is very cohesive, AND it plays very well!! definately one of the best NES games i ever seen xD

That Ninja Crow actually turned around and gave a nervous look when you jumped over him.
That is a pretty cool attention to detail.

I like how Polly just looks at the camera if you hold still long enough. EDIT: It seems that all the cats do this. Very Cute.
The dancing cat faces in the background during cutscenes give me joy.
The moving clouds in the background of stage five are a nice touch.

My brain is tainted.. Every time I see 'Ninpo' on the screen, I immediately think 'Chinpo'.
It always seems that when the music track calls for percussion, the drummer enemies are always prevalent.
That Yellow Banjo fight was quite a step up from the other bosses. He doesn't just hold still and take it, and he knows how to dish it out.
That fight with Bad Bird seemed tedious, but imagine how epic it would look if it was animated like a modern anime fight scene, Bad Bird relentlessly diving at Speedy as he just barely deflects each impact.

22 years ago in 1998 when i was 5 years old. I was playing this game. The door bell ringed and my mom opened the door. It was the boy who just moved to the next apartment and his mother. His mother just wanted to say hi to us since they've just moved in. While our mothers talking, the little guy peaked inside and saw me playing this game. He then removed his shoes and get inside and started watching me for a while. After that he just plugged player 2 controller and we started playing Atari games without talking to each other. And that guy is still my best friend after 22 years. This is the game i was playing when i met him. This brings back so many memories. Thank you for sharing this.

One of the obscure games.
Man this game was just perfect for its time. Wasn't even born then but when I played it at a friend's house around 2002 I was hooked. Started playing it again and its still great.
This game has infinitely more energy than games that try to emulate the NES/Famicom style, while being a NES/Famicom game itself

Limited Run should release this as part of a Tatsunoko Classic Anime Retro Game collection alongside Tatsunoko Fight and the Speed Racer SNES game “Speed Racer in My Most Dangerous Adventures”
English translation! And I had to play the Japanese version back in the 90's, having no clue as to what was actually going on, yet I still beat the game 3 times just to watch the cutscenes.

High Shine Tower (Stage 3) and Gold Rush (Stage 5) will always be two of my favorite bgm tracks in this. Great memories.
Randomly just found and played through this game on a famicom multicart under the name “ninjacat”. Even without the English translation, this game is quite good. Not too difficult besides the last couple stages, so it’s a relaxed pick up and play type game.
Just discovered this one, although the copy I have has different translations in a different font. I gotta say, the one I have , the dialog is actually laugh out loud hilarious at times. Totally holds up. This one look like it was given a more pc makeover, but I don’t think the silly and light hearted spirit of the game really needed that. Some old games desperately do, but this one had me cracking up.

Japanese viewers may not believe it, but I played this game in Poland in the mid 90s. The game had Japanese fonts and I didn't know shit what the characters were talking about 😂. But nonetheless I had a great time. SPC is one of my favourite Famicom/NES games

I played this game when I was 5years old. However I did not finish stage because my controlling was very bad lol. I also did not understand the plots because the it's Japanese subbed (well, although i did not understand english too when i was young xD) Thanks for the gameplay! Brings back my memories of childhood! :)
What a classic.
The thing that gets me is that Tatsunoku V.S. Capcom existed but no pizza cats, Capcom even had animal designs to rival these in their NES Disney games as well as the bosses from the Megaman X series. I wish we got a new game of this made by Capcom. A platformer beat em up hybrid like Ninja Gaiden with humor would really work well.
I remember stuck in this game , I don't know how to bypass the dirt stage. Than my friend told me I can select and pick another character to drill the dirt.
