    I think favoritism is why Axell won over Raha. Raha literally back flipped the 140ft double which was already enough to win the whole thing. That took absolute balls just to hit the jump and he BACKFLIPPED IT! The dude is nuts!

    Axell brings the style/finesse and inventive lines, really enjoyable to watch, clean, smooth etc. Raha is just a straight bad ass, balls to the wall savage, that no one can contend with in terms of hucking the craziest shit. They're very different, but both incredible in their own right. Raha is pushing the bar on all these guys though over all I would say.

      It’s interesting to me that it’s reflected culturally. In the 90s it was all about like the clean-cut nice guy vs rough around the edges punk rock. Now it’s 2020s and it all about the “spoiled rich kid” that’s crazy talented vs the gnarly dude that’s had to work multiple jobs and chase a dream to make it happen.

      This is the type of divisive bull shit that has no place in the conversation or the industry for that matter. Axel’s talent and ability, and Rahas talent and ability are the points. Period, doesn’t fucking matter if Raha grew up in the slums or if Hodges grew up in the hills. They’re two sick fucking dudes on dirt bikes doing shit that literally no one else on the planet can, with the exception of a healthy Bereman. Saying that Raha has “more” talent or style than Axell is just stupid. Axell’s “advantages” have long been gone/evened out, and his riding and smarts with how he’s invested his contest and contract money into his facilities and riding are continuing to help him elevate.

    As much as I love Twitch, if he wasn't a judge Axell wouldn't have won. Of course Axell couldn't pick his parents and you can't hate someone because their family is wealthy. But always having a new bike, fresh gear, having a dad that will drive you where ever to go ride and practice all add up. You can see it. His style comes from being comfortable on a bike, from not having to worry about anything but riding and progressing. Colby had to fight, had to ride shitty old bikes and work his ass off just to be able to ride. He's had to work jobs just to afford to go ride. Which is why he goes so buck and why he doesn't hesitate. I think Raha has deserved the win several times against Axell and I think favoritism goes on behind the scenes. But it's like any other extreme sport... When you know the judges play favorites taking home second is a win. And Colby does have a wall full of medals to show off the dedication. We need the rivalry as long as it's light hearted and pushes the sport. Proud of Raha for coming so far and for how well FTW is doing. Danger boy is a good example of both sides. Has everything he wants, has tracks at his house and fresh bikes but goes out and works, practices to be better and isn't afraid to get broke off. He's the future of MX. But Hodges/Raha reminds me of the glory days and I'm here for it. The imagination comp is the best. I just want 6 hours on the track before it's tore down.

    There is always the 'little rick boy' with the best of everything while others have to make do, in all motorsports being so expensive. Axel will always face that, same as the Deegan kids and what have you. There is always an eliment of how much is down to pure skill and how much is down to financial fortune. 'Would you be this good if it was equal playing field' means nothing and Billy Normal has to just get on and live with it, it is what it is.

  • @snowzZzZz
    @snowzZzZz Před 2 lety

    fuck the comparison
    Axell has an incredible skillset that he worked for, you can't buy skill, and he is good at envisioning tricks, he's highly creative. I find myself amazed at the stuff that he can do on a bike, but it does get repetitive at times, and I find a lot of his stuff overproduced and less organic feeling than what Colby does.
    Colby has a raw organic style and is equally as talented in my mind, he has demonstrated less bike skill when it comes to wheelie jump combos and stuff like that, but I think he has a better eye for proper street moto and freeride. He utilizes what the land provides him whereas Axell builds his ideas from scratch.
    Two very different styles that compliment each other. I think most prefer the underdog story, I tend to root for Raha myself, plus I enjoy the more down to earth feel of his content, but both are amazing at what they do and I do not feel like bringing up their families financial situation is fair.
    As stated by others, you can't choose who your parents are, if anything being born in a rich household can make you less self motivated and less likely to seek success yourself, less raw grit, but he managed to succeed doing something that he is good at, that already makes him better than a good amount of the population (including me) who haven't realized their full potential.

      @@glentight Colby went Harder everyone agrees go look at Imaginations comment sections every video full of people who think Raha won an a handful of Axell fans but it’s a clear 10 people for Raha for every 1 for Hodges

      Whatever my man... fanboys gonna fanboy... Just leave it alone mate, crying about the result never changes it. You see bias (Judging) where there simply is none.

      @@glentight well it’s judging so it’s someone’s personal opinion and they use bias to get the decision and if all the judges have known one kid for years it doesn’t look great but your right the overwhelming majority of the fans must be wrong. And the Axell “fanboys” like you are right.

    So beef because Raha is jealous? Got it. Regardless of facility or advantages etc. Axell throws it down. So does Raha. Go fucking send it and stop hating.

    Where does Axell’s supposed family money come from? His dad sure doesn’t seem like he works -but who knows, maybe he owns a construction company? 🤷🏻‍♂️
    Dirt bike riding became an inherently rich kid sport post 2000. These days, tens of thousands of dudes have parents who are willing to spoil them with the resources to become pro. But it’s still insanely difficult to get anywhere near the level of Axell/Raha/etc… And let’s not forget how important personality and style are. These aren’t the TP199 double backflip days. Someone could quad flip a dirt bike and it’d be “instagram impressive” for 48-72 hours. Dudes like Buttery or Axell bring something to the sport that is beyond the gnar/tech tricks.

    I love Tyler but I cringe every time he refers to himself and other grown ass men as kids.
