@@emmahamilton8685 I read the research papers and their raw genetics results, instead of the propaganda interpretation. The results said, most males of the buba clan belong to clades of a haplogroup that are most common among the Yemeni Arab Muslim origin.
Judaism is matrilineal. Even 3/4 Jews who lack a Jewish grand mother, are regarded as gentiles. Even if a tribe is found with proven male Jewish lineage, but no female lineage, they're disregarded.
Even in the case of people of Jewish origin who haven't practiced Judaism for some generation, but have matrilineal Jewish ancestry, the rabbis still insist on a formal conversion, and rarely are people with very strong authentic documents that suggest their great great great grandmothers were Jewish can convince the judges.
The DNA results of Lemba suggested, 50% of their male heritage came from the Middle East (some sources put it at around 80%), and almost none of their female heritage.
This tribe is simply not Jewish nor of lost Israelite ancestry. Some of their males are of Arab Muslim origin. Their pre-20th century traditions resembled Yemeni Arab Muslim and that of their neighboring Bantu pagan cultures more than they resemble Jewish costumes. A Muslim visitor in early 20th century noted their names and traditions were Arab-esque, and that they were of Arab Muslim heritage (they used to live closer to the coast, where Arabs had colonies, Arabs frequently captured natives as slaves or as concubines.
Almost all Jewish-esque traditions of this tribe were adopted in the past century, after Evangelical/Pentecostal missionaries cherry-picked them, and groomed them to become yet another fake Israelite tribe from around the globe to fulfill their silly prophecies of end of times. The same is true about every other tribe that claims to be of lost Israelite origin. At least in the case of those living in north east of india, they actually converted to Judaism, whereas most of these lembas have no desire to convert or practice Judaism (except when they're in front of camera).
The Lembas are mostly Christian and a minority of them are Muslims, and another minority are Judaizers (not recognized as Jewish but this small minority does practice a liberal form of Judaism thanks to donations from liberal strains of Judaism who built them synagogues (s) and donated them books and Jewish attires).
Its so backwards to see the originals looking at the copies and the copies are like " yes you are a real Israelite (note not a jewish) these others are ethnic germanic peoples called khazarians.

I think what is most interesting is the implications of how these people were able to maintain their phenotypical identity traversing through all of those lands nd the implication that clearly they came from Africa. The Catholics wear something that appears similar but has no connection. Even the Pope wears one and it is not at all related.
The Orthodox Jews wear a Kippah, in Hebrew, or Yarmulka in Yiddish. But the reason is not actually written in the Bible, so their are varying reasons that we ascribe to. And even within Orthodox Judaism, there are some who don't wear one at work, for example, such as doctors. Because a doctor (like my husband) wants to be seen as a doctor first, rather than as an Orthodox Jew first, when he walks into the exam room the first time he meets the patient.
As far as color, material and size--that is a cultural difference and very personal. A "knitted kippah" is more of a modern Israeli twist on a yarmulke. A black kippah says you are more yeshivish. A white one is popular on Yom Kippur during the high holidays. It varied. And then a son, after Gap year in Israel, may take on a different one, for a different look or affect. It is a difference that an outside will never really be able to tell the difference between as they are subtle. And can even change. They are somewhat stylistic.
