- Comedian Foster Brooks at "Dean Martin Comedy Show".
2 of the funniest sketches shown on TV, where Foster Brooks tries - and succeeds - getting Dean Martin speechless and laughing so the tears flow - Komedie
no one plays a drunk better than Foster Brooks he's an excellent actor.
John dunsworth
One thing Dean was known for on his show was his refusal to rehearse. So his reactions were completely spontaneous and genuine.
It really is a shame that we lost entertainers like these gentlemen.
Real talent.
There will never be another Foster. He was the best and after 55 years I still laugh.
Poor Dean, he couldn't keep a straight face! This is absolute gold! Thanks for posting!
flight755 I don't think I could have held together as well as Dean did. I would have been on the floor from about the second sentence.
This is the one skit that Dean didn't go to rehearsal on.
I just love Dean reaction to these skits. How he lost it is truly priceless and he was not afraid to show everyone his human side. Just love him for the way he was
The guy was a genius. Not only could he mimic a drunk so well that it made you wonder if he was really smashed or acting the part. Not only that but he NEVER broke character. In all the time I have seen him act, the audience would be howling with laughter and he never so much as cracked a smile at his antics. THAT is the mark of a true professional.
When Foster says he's a brain surgeon, the look on Deans face is priceless!
I read a while ago that Dean Martin never knew what Foster Brooks would act as what kind occupation character he would be when he enters the club scene.
Foster always reminded me of Tim Conway. Both were very skilled at getting their co-stars to crack up. RIP dear fellow.
Get me gene autry western movies
This guy was a comedy genius..love it
You can put those two sketches or whatever they're called on an endless loop for the rest of my life and they'll be funny every time.
Foster Brooks played drunk better than real drunks.
I guess so
Foster Brooks was an alcoholic who was in recovery. Something most people never knew about him.
@@burnerjack01 And a fantastic actor.
Yes he does and he makes it funny
Yes he does and he makes it funny
Two class acts that cannot be replaced. Humor at its best, absolutely brilliant. Anyone can do bathroom humor and I mean anyone. Only real talent can do this. God bless them both may they rest in peace. They gave the world great happiness and joy. That is the greatest gift of all!
Clean family-friendly comedy. Timeless. How mr brooks can keep a straight face while making everyone bust a gut laughing is just plain skills not many comedians now days have this ability
The skill and professionalism required to control that act is incredible. I love how Brooks bows out at the end - sober. Real class.
When I watch these I think of my Mom and Dad in the living room and my brothers and sisters running around the house playing. Back then you thought you would never age. What I wouldn't give to go back for one night and experience all that again. Mom and Dad are gone now so with one Brother, don't take anyone for granted.
Wow... You nailed it how true it is good times long ago... My dad laugh as well at froster Brooks... Very funny man!
I wish I could turn time back to then. I miss everyone.
That is so true Scotty. I to miss the good ole days. Sometimes I wish we could turn the clock back.
Amen Brother. I think we had a shared experience then. My Mom and Dad would watch that as well as the Dean Martin Roasts. Who could forget the Dean Martin Roasts??? There was a comedian who played a Mafioso gangster, Sammy Davis Jr, Don Rickles and on and on. Did those happen in the mid or late 70's? Seems like an eternity ago for me as well. Hey! Thanks for sharing...
know what you mean
OMG!!! I saw these years earlier, watched them again and laughed harder than I have in months. Great comedy is truly timeless!!!
Dean was one happy guy and he really enjoyed these great comedians!
Priceless... These guys left shoes that will never be filled by anyone else. Dean, as always, the greatest straight man there ever was. It's so great watching these two guys together....

I loved it when Foster & Dean got together & Foster would go into his "lovable drunk" character act and JUST KILL Dean...he could never keep a straight face while Foster was in charge.
GREAT FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY.
NO VULGARITY...NO NUDITY...NONE!!!
Please beam me back in time when people had a sense of humor and life was the best.
I am surprised the SJWs aren't marching to have all the Dean Martin Roast burned. They are modern day book burners! Destroying everything they touch especially comedy.
Boomers
And people didn't get offended
@@mattalbrecht7471 boomer
No kidding eh. Let’s go Brandon !
These guy's were comic geniuses. Families watched these shows like this together and everyone just enjoyed good clean comedy and were entertained to the fullest. I won't comment on what's considered comedy today.
OMG its 2018 and this is the funniest thing I have seen in 20 years. What the hell happened to comedy in this country
Dean Martin has the SEXIEST crooning voice.
2021 and still the funniest
Political correctness.....overly sensitive, fragile minded woke persons.....people just lying in waiting to be offended at the slightest thing.
The abbreviation "OMG"
Foster Brooks was a comedy genius!
Johnny Carson
HILARIOUS😂🤣👏I remember watching FOSTER BROOKES in the '70's NO CURSING GOOD O'L CLEAN COMEDY 👏👏👏
He was like Red Skelton in that respect.
The best drunk actor ever.
Andy. Thanks for this timeless gem. God bless.
How in the world did anyone ever work with this guy and not crack up? A brain surgeon! LOL I have seen every Dean Martin roast with Foster. What a talented man. The Jackie Geason, Lucille Ball and Sammy Davis Jr. ones are classic!
In a class by himself.
What do you say Loose...that's what the football team use to call her...
I remember the 1st time I scored & you shook your pom-poms at me...do you remember that Lucy?
those 2 lines kills me EVERY TIME I watch Foster roast Lucy...
Robert Diotalevi うvjんn
You forgot when he roasted Don Rickles about having an affair with his wife… that was hilarious!
Brooks always made a point of conspicuously slipping out of character at the end of a performance to show the audience that he was not actually drunk.
It was to acknowledge his audience.
Yes and Yes
Loved watching Foster Brooks. :-P
I didn't know that fish, good one.
It’s not just the line...it’s the “in the palm of my hand”, with that hand shaking for all it’s worth. Foster Brooks was hysterically funny...kudos to Dean for holding it together as long as he did!
I remember these shows when I was a kid, made me laugh hard back then. Carol Burnett show was great too
I'm probably in the minority but I loved Carol too but watching her show today... for me it doesn't hold up well at all. I don't know why. It just doesn't. Her appearances on The Garry Moore Show, however, are priceless.
Stephen Prater
This generation has no idea about the GREAT T.V. SHOWS THAT OUR GENERATION GREW UP ON.
Carol Burnett

The Blue Knight
Police Woman
Logan's Run
Starsky & Hutch
Chips

James At 15
And I COULD GO ON AND ON
THAT is funny!!! THAT is what comedy is suppose to be like!
Timeless comedy. Intelligent. You don't see it anymore.
Best drunk there ever was !! I grew up watching these shows. A simpler, happier time. When you could just have fun and laugh. Way better than these P.C Bullshit times.
I love when DEAN MARTIN tries everything he can to not lose focus....but then realises it's hopeless.
Thank you so very much for sharing this video. I love, adore, miss so much the good old day comedy.
Dean and Foster are hilarious together.
His brilliance will never pass again this way
I just love foster..makes me laugh no matter how bad things are..👍😘
FosterBrooks was a Born Again Christian and a great person in real life. Excellent curse free comics are a rarity . God Bless you Foster.
Rick Charles Sadly no. He died in 2001. He was 89.
He once claimed that he and Dean Martin were leading members of Alcoholics Unanimous.
Foster brooks
and he never drank a drop in his life I hear.
Mark Snell 8
I love to see dean crack up lol 😂
Foster would be awesome in parties hahaha
Foster makes me die laughing. Always did. We used to religiously watch Dean Martin's show, and loved when he came on.
Jim Benn and yet he was a teetotaler
Me too. He was the best.
TheTruthisRacist: Right on. Foster Brooks could get Dean laughing so hard he would cry.
Absolutely hilarious. :-P
Hometown guy, Louisville, Kentucky, never forgot where he came from.
you got that right
Richard Johnson hi
Amazing actor, so natural.
The dislikes must be under 30. Foster was a treasure. No more like him these days.
You know whats amazing to me is how Dean starts cracking up pretty much almost emediately right when foster shakes his hand is when dean loses it and the skits done thats when i loose it to this is to funny this os comedy at its finest
So funny loved Dean's Roasts Foster Brooks was naturally funny
Foster was an consummate professional. Well written material, fellow performers and audiences absolutely losing it and he never breaks character -- which makes it even funnier.
When hollywood was entertainment
And the casting couch.
forster brooks he was real funny
Do you have a drinking problem? Not as long as the bars are open. Best answer ever
THERE'S FUNNY THEN THERE;S FOSTER BROOKS FUNNY
Hysterical! Absolutely fun. Nothing vulgar, nothing controversial..just pure fun!
Great days indeed .
I think I enjoy watching Dean laugh like a little boy as much as I do Fosters act!
Back when entertainers were entertaining.
Yes, and not hacks like Stephan colbert
GENIUS...😂😂😂😂
Wet my self what an amazing actor
He was one of a kind.
Good Stuff, today's comedians don't compare.
Boy was he good or what! !
My god this is hilarious 😂
And he wasn't the only one crying with laughter.
Comedy Gold!
They don't make them like this anymore.
Joseph Bloggs ed
Foster Brooks didn't drink.but he sure could act!
There’ll never be a better comedian.
my 3rd time watching so funny briliant!
Foster Brooks was so believable playing a drunk. As a kid I thought he was because Dean would be belting them down and Foster comes on and let the antics begin.
It’s a funny bit, but Dean’s reaction makes it hilarious.
Okay. I'm old. The first time I saw Foster Brooks on "The Tonight Show." Carson was the host and no-one had ever heard of Brooks. Carson had just moved the show from New York to California. Brooks was introduced as the mayor of Burbank who had made a special trip to welcome Johnny to his new home. Dear Lord, but it was funny! Carson, of course, explained that it was not the real mayor of Burbank but a comedian named Foster Brooks.
According to Wikipedia, that was in 1972 - and I still remember it . . . 46 years later.
THANK GOD FOR FUNNIES
When comedy, was comedy!
Someone in your condition!
They just don't make them like Foster any more. What a class act!
I remember Foster when I was a little kid. I loved him then and still appreciate his work now.
I watch this Dean Martin episode many times and never left any harder than I am doing now I've got two going down my face
Golden moments
YES,MAY GOD BLESS FOSTER BROOKS!!!
LOL!!!! The best EVER!!!!!!!!!
Awesome. Love and miss Dean Martin and his show. Watched it every time.
This is the stuff I remember watching when I was growing up. Thanks for the memories.
Good clean family comedy, what happened to wholesome fun.
it offended some one.
Lmao
How is pretending to be a pilot who is absolutely hammered before work "wholesome fun"? Lol.
Its funny but its hardly wholesome fun.
Restraints have been put on fun/gender comradery ,etc over the last 40 years .
Foster never had a drink in his life believe it or not it's true
Brilliant comedian
No one cracks up Dino more than Foster Brooks.
He's got Dean in tears...
Mr. Brooks did a great job on these. I loved Foster!
I laughed so hard the people in the apartment next door are pounding on the wall.
2 of the best right there never be anyone like them 2 ! Sure do miss them days !
Foster was a genius at his art.😀
He always had me rolling on the floor. He carried with him so many lines that were gems ... and not a curse word in sight. Today comedians think it's funny to swear. It's offensive.
Foster Brooks was one of the few people who could make Dean Martin laugh until he cried 7:20
Love them both
Classic... Love it...😎
This is TRUE classic comedy!
Thanks for the post!
I Love This!!
Every one of his videos are funnier than the last! HYSTERICAL!!!!!
God rest both of your wonderful, loving, talented, heartfelt souls. May your souls forever rest in eternal peace in God's eternal kingdom. All of us GREATLY and DEEPLY miss both of you so much. You will always be in everyone's hearts and prayers and always remembered and never forgotten. In closing, this writer would like to offer a poem in memory of your talented and class entertainment, and what you did for all of us: The sun goes down and leaves warmth upon the land. The tide recedes and leaves seashells in the sand. The music stops and echoes in sweet refrain... For all you`ve done and given to all of us, only beautiful, heartfelt and cherished memories will forever remain.
Hilarious!
Brooks was a comic genius. Even Martin cannot keep a straight face, and Brooks NEVER breaks character. The airline pilot is a legendary performance of the highest caliber.
