For guys using a 200s front end get a Suzuki lt230 factory 9" rear wheel. They are 4x130 pattern and offset the same as a 8" 200s wheel.
That's great information, thanks for sharing, this is the first time I have heard of this swap. Thanks
Sweet. Thanks Jason
I just picked up an 83 200E. I saved it from some folks who like to partake in methamphetamine. It needs a seat, someone cut the exhaust off in several places, the carrier bearings are toast and the starter is stuck. It's a mess but I hope to save it and make it live again.
I have faith in you Hanky. You can do it.
I agree 84 was THE year..and when plowing or pulling heavy the 250 seems to get hot the 200 does make heat but not to the point I feel I'm causing damage
Great episode, you touched on many important topics. That machine is looking and sounding good, as much as I want to see the completion, I don't want it to get lost either. Some are just beat up enough where they have history but nice enough to be proud of their looks. Damn, maybe I'm thinking of a country song! Thanks
Its really cool to see your collection of machines and collection of spare parts one day i want my garage to look like that
I hope to oneday have a little more room and stay organized. Lol who am I kidding. I'd just collect more. Lol thanks for watching.
You've got a very nice shop and that makes ALL the difference when working, repairing, and painting things!
It took many years to build this empire of junk. Lol thanks
You are very entertaining to listen to and watch. You're doing a great job and this is coming from someone that's been turning wrenches for 35 years. I would like to add that us made spray paint in the can is not as good quality as the paint that were painted with in JAPAN in the 1980s. Yes I Know we Don't have any other options
Thank you Sir.
Good tips for the front end swap. My only word of advice to any kids or first time tricycle buyers is do not buy someone else's junky machine missing parts and is totally clapped out. Find a original machine and avoid getting nickeled and dimed to death. I was 17 when I bought my first Red. It looked decent but all bearings were shot bad seat pan rusty tank no brakes no battery hold down junk tires... By the time I had gone through it all and sourced original parts I could of bought 2 nice machines not missing anything.
I always reccomend the most complete bike you can afford. As for building projects, for some of us that's part of the fun.
@@mrcbuilds Fair enough!
very nice project 🤟 i like that
Thank you, sir.
Very nice, using pipe wrench channel locks and adjustable wrenchs 100% correct on that.. I would recommend a little oil on the back of the new bearing just so it dont gall on you... them petcocks always separate another great one all that info at the beginning was excellent
Chrome racks, OEM are big money
COOL VIDEO.✌✌✌
Thanks Robert!
Digging the jams man! 🤘
"i lube up around the post " 🤣🤣
Another one saved! Lots of good info here. Thanks! What’s the chance of getting a review video on the Kubota Tractor / Backhoe!!?? That would be cool!
May be one day. It's a L48 TLB it's an amazing machine.
Thanks for great videos. Just got me a 185 and needs lots of help. This video has been very helpful.
Thanks for subscribing and joining the channel
Love the thrash metal while you were assembling the trike sounded alot like Metallica 🤘love it
It's very possible, YT wont let us use copyrighted songs but I slip a few in sometimes. Lol
Really enjoy watching and learning from your videos. It's going on a year of working my '84 200m. Waiting on my starter to be rebuilt and hopefully, I'll be ready to ride. Got a feeling it's my CDI. Thnx again from South Louisiana!
Thanks for watching, i hope the videos help
I cut my junk front shocks out of my front end and welded it fully maxed out and I lifted the rear for a full 6 inch lift for free .just move the back axle mounts to the bottom bolts and weld braces where the bottom bolts used to go
What size tire can you run now?
thanks man.. You are explaining things so well. I'm Learning so meny things. Naw i can work on scooters
Thanks Dennis, im glad you enjoy the videos
I think it would be cool for you to do a ride on the Honda 350x and show what it can do. I have lots of questions about Honda's. Like which one's are considered a "Big Red"... etc. Keep up the great work! It's much appreciated!
Hey 3k, a big red is just those labeled as such. 200e, 200es, 250es. No other model is called a big red. If you want to really learn the differences check out www.justbigreds.com. thanks for the support.
@@mrcbuilds Thanks a ton, man! I thought it was only 250's. Then I questioned the 250SX. You're the man! The Karate Kid song at the end, "You're The Best" defines you! Rock on brother and get a MetallicA shirt!
@@mrcbuilds Thanks for the website and I did check it out. The only trike they called the "Big Red" was the 250ES. I'm not saying you're wrong. That was on the website. I appreciate you giving me the link. Man, I've gotten off my ass and started doing my own work on my 3 wheeler, thanks to you. Yeah, the confidence definitely builds and wants me to do more, but I know my limits.
@@3_KNIVES well now. If you do a google search, the back fenders on both the 200e and 200es say the words big red, on the 84 there is another decal on each side it says it again, Along with the 250es. I believe they ment the 250es was bigger than the other models, therefore "the biggest big red".
I’ve got a pretty nice Big Red out back. I should throw it back together and get it rolling again. I used to use it to haul a trailer around my property and it was a workhorse!
Yes, you should. Lol, thanks for watching g and let us know how it turns out!
Nice video, you have that best Three wheeler repair videos I've seen yet. I've got my old 84 200s back from when I was a teen 30 years ago. I'm slowly getting parts together. The only info I can't find is what's the fuel line size from the petcock to the carb. I would like to get the Honda grey line that come with it or something close to it. Thanks again for your awesome videos. Maybe one day I'll get a 84 Big Red like yours.
think its either 5 or 6 mm . oem gray discontinued . use to also be made by tygon. maybe check ebay
3/16 fuel line I use black, its local, they make clear if you like. Thanks for the kind words.
@@cajuncycleresto8738 thanks for the info, I appreciate it.👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
I think I took the 200M front end off one of my project bikes an put it on the '84 200ES I picked up for $50, but its been so long ago now I cant remember :D
It's a great swap
Yeah man i agree with using a racing or sport suspension on a utility trike no point its ment to haul and pull not race
Sad how many of these trikes were horribly abused and not taken care of, still have my son's 83 Yamaha 200 , it's little rough but cherry compared to a lot of em.
It really is sad how people dont take care of things.
You should be using a piece of wood under the bearing drum assembly and a brass hammer instead
You are correct sir.
The piping when you was letting it down off the stand it the slide needle needs to be moved one way or the other.
Thanks for the heads up
I got an all balls outer bearing and left and right seals off ebay for like 45 bucks.
That's a good deal.
Would I be a bad person for modifying a 1985 250 big red turning it into a fat fat cat, I have a decent idea of building a single sided swingarm and lengthening the driveshaft to make it work and track the wheels straight, I think it would be a beast in trails.
CZcams has several video about doing just that. Considering they made several 100k of them, I think your safe. Lol, it's your trike, do what you want with it.
I'm interested in purchasing a Big Red 250, preferably a 1986. Do you have one, and are you willing to sell it?
I have an 85, pm me on FB
Great info. How do u like your rolling shop stool?
When the floor is clean it's nice, but when it catches a nut or bolt, it will throw for a loop. Lol
Great Episode ! I have a question what rear axels fit on these 1984 200es having a hard time finding extra parts for this year thanks!
The only options i can think of is another 1984 200es or a 200sx 4 wheeler. They share the same rear diff and axle.
Right on thanks for the reply ! I’ll be on the hunt for that one now 😂🙄
Where would you look for
A seat pan for a 1985 Honda 110? I’m baffled!
Hows this www.newthorpeservices.xyz/products.aspx?cname=honda+atc+seat&cid=1
Atcheaven does lost it but out of stock.
Was that a Honda z50 motor at 5min 28sec
No Sir, it was a atc70 motor.
@@mrcbuilds they do mount the same so I was confused
@@brian1489 yes they do. PM me on FB it's for sale.
Do you have any 200e frames you’ve done? I got one with a 200s motor on it but having a lot of trouble replacing the axle, bearings and such.
No i am pretty low on inventory right now. Sorry
@@mrcbuilds I just meant had you done any work on them frames, sorry I should’ve soecified. I’m wondering if it would be easier to just cut it out since it’s pretty seized up.
I know this is a Honda channel but some of us like car’s to if you know what I mean (hint hint)
Are those still 6volt ??
No, the clones are 12 volts
You should ask everyone to sign in and subscribe and hit the thumbs up on your video. You are losing a lot in money from what I can see.
Hi Brian, there mixed feeling about asking, I do on some videos but not all. Thanks for the suggestion and please like, share and subscribe. Lol
