Final Battle Scene: The British Surrender | The Patriot (2000) | Now Action - Krátké a kreslené filmy
My dad, upon watching this scene, said, "Well, the bastard asked for it. He killed his sons"
I keep seeing The Patriot scenes pop up in my feed. I don't know why, but you won't see me complaining.
Nice of all those soldiers to respect the 1v1.
They actually stopped killing in the battle of Brooklyn Heights to give Washington a chance to surrender, as they considered such a slaughter without a chance to surrender dishonorable. Washington fled under the cover of a miraculous fog, which they also considered dishonorable.
@@entelechy00 I suppose it doesn't matter what they think it only matters what God thinks is honourable or dishonourable.
@@entelechy00 it was righteous of the brits to do that but its not honor that wins wars....
Miło to jest wtedy, gdy bagnet przebija ci tchawicę. It's nice when a bayonet pierces your windpipe.

How much drama do you want?
Mel Gibson: Yes
Emmerich directed this, lol. But I get whatchu saying
"You're right. My sons were better men."
"You're right. My sons were better men." Chills every time I watch it..
Tom Wilkinson is an amazing actor. He shines in each production he's in.
100% agree he's brilliant
RIP
Tarleton captured my ggg grandfather, James McCrory and held him on a boat for months before he dove off the ship in his skivvies and rejoined the war. McCrory fought in 6 major battles and was one of Washington's bodyguards
Badass
Imagine that, People loving and fighting for their country, Loving what their diverse and plentiful people are, and fighting to protect it!
That is an absolute miracle that Benjamin Martin survived the massive bleeding and avoided any infection from all the deep wounds caused by the filthy 18 century weapons.
Well he is a fictional character in a fictional story.
Sam Houston survived. Andrew Jackson survived. Modern men are made of weaker stuff.
They had far better immune system 😂
@@TheKhamyasi even if you have a great immune system deep wounds can be infected if the weapons were filthy, either way even if the immune system you have managed to reduce or stop infection your life is still at risk anyway because of the massive blood loss.

Gaytriot 2024. Starring Zendaya.
@@corymackin8723
Yes the Gaytriot is the story of an African American, gay patriot with Bi-polar disorder, who hunts down British soldiers whilst having a rather large erection. There’s a scene where he nearly slaps a British (colonizer) soldier to death with it, while his sisters children (who are raised by grandma) watch in horror.
While slapping the soldier with his dingus, he’s yelling and screaming, “hands up don’t shoot!” “Pigs in a blanket, fry em up like bacon!” “My body my choice!” And something about “equity.”
Anyways.. it’s great movie about what really happened.
@@timotmon Exactly
Wow, the fight to the bitter End. Super done Mel!
Historical accuracy aside, I love how mel made Braveheart almost a prequel to the Patriot, like this is William Wallace's reincarnation, finally getting his vengeance on the British.
hundred of years in the making :D
And when you park at the site of the Robert the Bruce memorial, you find..a statue of Mel, in his Brave heart role
After being defeated by Benjamin Martin in the American War of Independence Col. William Tavington later time travelled to become Lucius Malfoy in Harry Potter.
Yes, that's who it is. I knew he looked familiar couldn't remember what other movie.
But he led the Red Army in The Death of Stalin
@@darthkek1953 No he led the rangers in Black Hawk Down.
Benjamin Martin had to avenge The Joker.
@Andysavage24 Seems that Benjamin Martin got the last laugh. Imagine if he asked the dying Colonel Tavington a question that stated “why so serious?”
jason isaacs is such an incredible actor: Patriot, Black Hawk Down, Harry Potter always playing damn good
Overall an incredible cast. Tom Wilkenson as Cornwallis was perfect for the part, brilliant actor.
History and humanity live perfectly in every breath 🫁.
I pray no wars come to our shores again . But if it dose the patriots will rise and defend freedom.
Yes gen z will bring their patriotic selves to the front lines with pronouns and soft asf nature, but thankfully, boomers and gen x will save them 😂
Yes they will defend and so will veterans that are still able to fight. While other men complain about how they are "too smart" to fight for the government and bash the real men that do. Less than 1 percent of men are actually men.
The "Patriots" are unwilling to help Ukraine. As a foreigner that side of America is repulsive.

At 52 I’ve seen alot of movies in the theater. The only two movies I went and saw twice was Forrest Gump and the Patriot! Of course I’ve seen both movies 50 times on TV since 😅
Imagine the embarrassment if Col. Tavington somehow tripped up during his final strike and accidentally impales himself.
I've seen this movie many times, and it makes me realize that our beloved country has lost its way. But there are still millions of us who still feel blessed to be living in the United States. God bless us
i live in a blue state. It disgusts me to see our youth being taught to hate our nation and our flag when the truth is the children being taught to hate it are the ones who will shape this nations future.
They dont understand that they themselves determine the character of our country. Not our government
It’s a movie…ain’t real life, get a grip.
Amém
@@neurobook You do realize the revolutionary war did actually happen right? Its not just some fictional event depicted in a movie you mope.
Thank trump for making it lose its way
The Patriot is one of the greatest inspiring movies of the American Spirit of all time brought to life thankfully by Mel Gibson.
и где этот американский дух свободы сейчас.
Dear Lord, how we need more movies like this today…
Great film. Historical flaws and liberties yes. But Cowpens is the Gettysburg of the American Revolution and good they told that story finally, especially with fine actors like Mel Gibson, the late, great Tom Wilkinson (also in Valkyrie), brilliant voice actor Peter Woodward (as General O'Hara), and many others. A modern classic.
I remember watching this in theaters and the audience cheered at 3:39 and again the cheered at 3:52

No British actors were harmed in those scenes, they were all American, except Jeremy Isaacs who went on to play an American Commander in "Fury" commanding Brad Pitt.😮
This is the prequel to the Peter vs chicken fights 😂😂

Benjamín Martín acabo con un antepasado de los Malfoy, de allí su rencor a los muggles...
ich mag ihn , toller Schauspieler. Mad Max war wohl der erste Film von ihn , klasse
Actually Tavington was a real Person and he was VERY badly portrayed in this film. He was known for being evenhanded in dealing with militias and did not tolerate the violent actions of both Colonial and Loyalist militias.
He also survived the war.
And was called Tarlington. He never burned churches with people in them either.
Hollywood was never about TRUTH just money 🇨🇦🇺🇸
Worthy for historical footnotes of being an early pioneer of military expertise into Total War campaign strategies. Interesting thing is; he is a historical villain to the end-he fought against the efforts of William Wiberforce abolishing slavery in the British Parliament (Amazing Grace movie)
@@OzjishKahn *Banastre Tarleton was his name. Later achieving the rank of General, and becoming a Sir. Sir Banastre Tarleton. He had hoped to be appointed to command British Forces in the Peninsular War when it all kicked off, but that command was instead given to Wellington.

Yeah, like none of the tenths of americans passing by Tavington would not struck a bayonet into his back lol.

Hah! "Remember the time American William Wallace killed Lucius Malfoy" 😂
You should have every teen age boy watch this every fourth of July. Then they will know what it costs to live in such luxury.
Human history is 1 giant bloodbath, everything was paid for with blood. We have forgotten as a society
This movie is fantasy land nonsense. This isn't history...
The magic of Hollywood.
I love this movie, and have watched many times, but never until just now noticed an incongruity. when Mel Gibson was down on his knees with a red jacketed sword wielding monster coming at his turned back... he watch's like forty patriots running past... and nobody thought to stop the bad guy from chopping Mels head off on the way by? lol
Probably because they'd seen Bird on a Wire.
That's why its called a movie lol
I agree, I was thinking the same thing it was the chase phase of a rout the soldiers are going to be stabbing every enemy they can.
good point... perhaps a foreshadow?
Fog of war
Ahh Hollywood, where you can take a shot in the shoulder and fight on like nothing happened!
Not the final battle. But a great scene.
The final battle is Yorktown, Virginia where George Washington came from the north and the French blocked Cornwallis retreat by sea.
Gracias a España
I like to think of this scene as *Mel Gibson kills Malfoy's great-great granduncle* 😂
And not one single Advil for miles around.
Even when I first saw The Patriot in 2000, my initial thoughts were: not enough. In Colonel Tavington's first scene he orders the Martin home and barn to be burned down, the livestock killed, the horses stolen, the workers taken, Gabriel hanged and the wounded Continental soldiers killed. And that's before he shoots Thomas. Credit to Jason Isaacs, though. He made me feel like nothing short of every last one of British Soldiers being burned alive would be enough to atone for his actions.
That fire still burns deep in Americans heart.

Duel between two super-humans, obviously. Mel Gibson has eyes in the back of his head, and Jason Isaacs moves nimbly with his left arm after his shoulder joint has just been smashed by a bullet.
That actor is so badass, so great. In this revolution movie, survival is their only hope, their chance of living. Around the days when Washington was around, it was less money and less food. To have freedom, Washington had to sigh the declaration of independence. Now every 4th of july, we celebrate the birth of this big country🇺🇸
Funny, how we Yanks and Britts are now the best of friends now. We owe much to France. We helped out there during WWII. But so did the Britts! And countless others.
It is a mater of time who joins and who un joins only time will tell.
I think we were incredibly lucky half of the British command structure was made through nepotism rather than merit.
I wonder how he knew when to duck!
Great movie and a great seen except for the fact that anyone shot in the arm is not going to fight two-handed like that. Take it from me there is no way you would have any strength in that arm to be able to do any damage and wield a sword
👏👏👏👍👍👍
Anyone who has ever been tossed from a horse at full speed or taken a lead ball to the bone of their upper arm would know how fake this scene is. Still great theater though.

What happened to his knife and it’s crazy how the revolution was in America history
To think this was only 20 years ago
This movie is about as truthful as the american one capturing the enigma machine from the submarine.
Nonetheless, a good fictional drama. Good entertainment value, so long as one doesn’t take it as a history lesson. The only issue I take is that the general masses take historical dramas as fact, rather than entertainment.
@@joelmacdonald6994there’s a difference between historical fiction and straight up propaganda. This falls into the latter category
@@orions221you’ve been Atun Shei or what? 😂I didn’t see it as propaganda just historical fiction about the Revolutionary War just like with Gods and Generals I didn’t see that movie as Lost Cause garbage just historical fiction on the Civil War which is actually based on a novel by Jeff Shaara

And now the US is flooded from the Southern Border.
LOL... you won it all - then lost it all.
Not quite yet. But it's very close if things don't change soon we will.
Tavington was quite the swordsman, he definitely had the upper hand throughout most of the fight with Ben. If not for his pompus arrogance and constantly underestimating his opponents, he may have actually won that duel..I mean, if this weren’t a set storyline or anything 😂.
In any case I always chuckle when Ben pulls out his little knife after Tavington picks up a 2nd full sized sword.
Gibson plays this role to a T, it really brings out the Anti British in him!
