That second after his bloodlust cooled- Gibson gives this subtle pause of realization that his boys have watched him butcher these men. Superb acting. One of my favs.

Everything’s a near miss in this movie, plot, dialogue, action. But the great cast and the sparky direction and editing elevate it a ways above average. It’s just a fun throwback and Costner is tolerable, which is itself a rarity.
