- This is one of several songs I like that I recorded at home during covid lockdowns using my mobile phone. It was composed by Ted Shapiro, Jimmy Campbell and Reg Connolly back in 1928 and has remained popular with jazz musicians over the years.
Great Watched again. The broadway is very rare.once again .many thanks.
Thank you Trevor. Yes, not many old Epis around. The best old non-cutaway archtops (Gibson, Epiphone, Stromberg) are lovely instruments and things of beauty.
One of the first songs Dad taught me and i still play it at Neds. Nice to hear the lyrics. Great job Roly.
Thanks Colin. Yes likewise one of the first for me when I just got started playing jazz.
Great.Love the playing and sound of your Epi.
Thanks Trevor. The Epi is the same age as me, a 1946 vintage.
@@BlaydonAces Is it an Emperor.Great sound.
@@trevorashworth7307 Hi Trevor. It's a Broadway model.
One of the all-time greats -- beautifully interpreted! I'm going to guess you're aware that the original sheet music had "The Prince of Wales' Favourite Fox Trot" above the song title. One has to hand it to Edward for having good taste in popular music!
Thanks and yes, such a lovely song. I didn't know that about Edward.
