  • This song was composed by Jack Robson, possibly for the local radio show 'Wot Cheor Geordie' which ran from 1947 to 1957. I recently uploaded it to CZcams from a CD I made back in 2002 along with some video clips of Cullercoats - • Cullercoats Bay (versi... . That made me go back to the song and enjoy playing it again. It's a nice song with interesting harmonies. The photographs at the end were taken in March 2023. It was a spell of very cold weather so there were only a few folk on the beach including a few hardy 'all year round' swimmers.

Cullercoats always did seem to be left out when it came to Tynemouth & Whitley Bay but has a feel all of its own a lovely small seaside town. Very nice Roly the song gives a feel of the place.

@@Trombonology I'm glad you enjoyed the info about Jack Robson. I've taken a special interest in him and his work since I first encountered his music (a vinyl album of local songs by singer Dennis Weatherley). To me he had something special. My website was set up years ago by an IT pal, purely to promote local song CDs and he showed me how to revise or add to it. The layout is old fashioned by today's standards but maybe with many things now so slick and sales driven that's part of its charm. I've added loads of things to it over many years and it just grew and grew. I don't do so much now with it, just an occasional update. Thanks for your appreciative comments.
