- Transformers introduced Smokescreen in 1985 along with a bunch of other Autobots, plus a few Decepticons. Part of Generation One Series 2, this diversionary tactician had weapons and a similar form to two Series One bots but was definitely a distinct personality. And should be kept out of Vegas. Captain Kyle reviews this G1 “Reissue” knockoff to see if it might fill a hole in your collection.
Smokescreen could obviously emit smoke to obscure the battlefield when Megatron and his Decepticons were doing their best to pulverize the Autobots. But he also discovered he had a “special connection” to gambling machines which allowed him to cheat. Until he was unplugged. He didn’t know when to quit, which is really a bad sign and he needs to get help. Still, this valiant Autobot ran into Devcon and helped thwart a Decepticon operation, so he’s not all bad. Captain Kyle checks out this KO “reissue” to see if the quality is up to the original release.

Hi! great video as always Sr, Smokescreen has been one of G1 bot favorites. One thing that I noticed is that it has screws on the back of the door holding the piece of metal to the door (one on each side) versus the OG that it only had plastic stub melted. personally, I think the screws are much better because on the OGs the doors got loose or already came loose out of the box and there wasnt that much to do about it, while having a screw you can tighten it as you chose.
Cool! Looking forward to seeing him get sticker’d up! 🏆😊
I had it back in the day. I was surprised, I have never seen that screw on the back of the head!
No gambling? Love that episode.
OOH. I noticed a pretty obvious difference between this and a real Smokescreen. This knockoff has T-Tops molded into the roof of the car like Bluestreak did. A real Smokescreen has a smooth roof with no t-tops.
Good catch, I remember noticing that as a kid along with his other differences like the bumper. I been seeing some funny parts swaps in knock offs like Brawn/Outback where outback didn't have a rubsign in the same place but there's an indentation on the roof and the door instead of on the roof only. Also seen them selling Brawn with the Outback hands instead of the little hook hands. It's kind of fun spotting the differences.
Bought one of those a few months back along with prowl jazz and blue streak best way to go with those style
I once had the original Smokescreen toy, for only a week, before it was stolen from me. I would most definitely be looking forward to getting this one.
The best of the Autobot cars!
Very interesting to see these KOs. I’m morally conflicted about them but it may be the only way to reasonably experience some of these toys now.
My G1 collection is primarily official reissues, Commemorative, Encore editions, but I do have a few ko's, of the ones that were never reissued
I know what you mean. I have a K.O Sunstreaker I got for peanuts. I then bought a vintage Sunstreaker. I am seriously thinking about buying a K.O Wheeljack.
We definitely need Prowl, Bluestreak and Smokescreen in Missing Link line. It sucked that Hasbro did not different the datsun bros molds in WFC line like animation and OG toys did. I always loved the tire in shoulder assembly that OG toy and animation has for Smokescreen.
Back in the day between me and my brother we had smokescreen, Jazz mirage and Hound of the takara early autobot car designs, mirage broke at the waist , hound little bits got lost or broke off (wing mirrors) jazz windshield broke off and was glued back on every week. Smokescreen was the one that survived unscathed. I just dont know how.
I had Smokescreen as a kid. He was broken within a week.
Im been thinking of getting one myself
I have a number of these G1 KO transformer s. I have no issues..feels the same looks the same. Nice way to build your collection. I don't care about resale value.
Smokescreen without his 38 decal... I dunno it just looks wrong.
I just realized they didn't do the spoiler molded into the back windows!
Wow! I didn't notice until you pointed it out!
@@ToySpotlite I have ALL the ko's $5K worth misb, that's why I like to watch your videos so I don't open them lol I didn't notice until I saw your video either lol.
