    The Peugeot 207 is a brilliant all-rounder with a desirable image, high-quality cabin and smooth drive. It's pretty quiet, too, unless you drive it hard.
    Against It's pricey, and performance in some versions is flat. Most rivals have more rear legroom, and the ride is firm in the heavy diesel versions.

    I have a 1.6i 16v 110bhp 3 door version of this car, absolutely love it. Rear seat space is not a problem as I can't remember the last time someone sat there and apart from problems associated with the high mileage (110k+, gearbox clutch and cambelt have all been replaced recently costing me lots) there have been no issues at all. Cost me £2500 4 years ago and still love it!

    I've owned the 1.4 s for about 6 years now covering a good 50k miles.... never had anything go wrong on the car other than wear and tear.... its nice and easy to drive it's just got no power at all.... just upgraded to a 13 plate focus St for lots of power!

    I've had a 2012 two-seater "commercial" version with the 68H9 1.4 diesel engine which I bought as an "extra" car two years ago. In that time it's done 24K with me, on top of the 55K it had already and it's fine, just needed one oil change and a full service last week, so nothing else to do before 90,000 miles. I have to say it's nowhere near as bad as I expected on speed, it can handle motorways with no problem and drives well with around 350 kgs on board. With just a normal load and the driver fuel economy is pretty good too, on mixed driving I can easily get 4.8 litres per 100 kms which equates to around 55-60 mpg. I live in France and see these cars changing hands at 2-3000 Euros with upwards of 150K miles so I guess I'll keep mine a good while longer yet.

    Yea the gearbox may feel "mushy" but after driving my 207 for 6 months I dost even notice it not. It's also well insulated against road and wind noise

    I have a 207 1.4 Diesel witch is slow not much kit but its still a good car I now find gear changes are very stiff at 95k but fine when it warms up is good on fuel.

    Quite pleased with my 207, but wish it had a 6 speed box.

  • @kagolko
    @kagolko Před 11 lety +16

    exactly.. I've had 206 since 2003 - and all I've been doing is changing oil and timing belt (after like 80 000 km).. what a loads of bullshit this review..

    DO THE OPPOSITE of what reporter say and go for the proven 1.6 109PS, 1.4 88PS petrol, avoid newer chain driven ones as they like to be expensive when they have faulty chains which is not rare, on 1.4 check for leaks on engine, coolant and oil mixing, sometimes they have head gasket failures.
    Its soft as fuck, pedals, steering, gearshift, so be prepared for effordles driving but dont expect any feedback

    The turbo petrol models (thp) are a lot of fun. I know this, I own one. Before you buy one check if it's had it's timing chain done. It's an expensive repair and it's a common issue. It also effects the older Mini Cooper S and some DS3 models. If it sounds clicky or like a diesel before it has heated up then it needs seen to ("depollution system faulty"). That aside it's a good fun car, good handling and good low down torque. :-)

    207, The worst car we have ever owned ours a 2011 model. Electric steering Rack failed last year, Clutch slave cylinder failed, Dash clocks keep loosing power and now the ABS has failed What a nasty piece of french rubbish ! Avoid buying one of these cars unless you have deep pockets !

      @Bercilak de hautdesert somebody is offering me a 207 cheap 2012 80k serviced and mint for 2k but I've had good and bad French vehicles.. older petrol cars were so good and reliable in general back in there day but we still used to moan then.. nowadays diesels are money pits especially old turbo diesels.. I love an audi A3 aesthetically but what I don't want is a bill for a dpf, dmf, turbo or Cambelt kit and waterpump as any of these problems will weigh heavily against a second hand car each costing between £600-£1200 to sort.. diesels are all the same doesn't matter which brand there a dying breed, I after 30 years of motoring 50 ish cars last 6 being all diesel I'm contemplating the permanent change back to petrol as I can do without the constant dash lights and headaches.. had a mk 1 citroen berlingo 1.9d work van and has been single handidly been the most reliable vehicle I've owned by a long way.. gutless ugly and very basic but boy was it reliable. Then I had a 4 year old ex fleet mk 1 Peugeot expert van 2.0 Hdi, while this had done 60k when I got it and had been serviced religiously within a year everything that could have gone wrong did costing me thousands.. got it all fixed then the steering rack went, that was it I sold it for £400 scrap 5 years old!!
      Cars are designed and engineered to break and be expensive.. there are no exceptions as anyone with years of motoring knows from experience if we're being honest with ourselves sadly 😥
