Charlo's own people said Haymon rejected the Canelo fight and his own bro called him a punk over the situation. Haymon wasn't looking to send his fighters across the street and also twice rejected Canelo's offer to face Plant on DAZN just to have him fight stiffs on Fox for minimal pay. Derevyanchenko himself rejected a career high $5.5M offer to face Canelo just to fight GGG for less money and Charlo for peanuts. Middleweight became a dead division as soon as Canelo moved up with none these guys fighting each other while Canelo keeps lining up champs.

No it wasn't that was around the time Canelo moved up to 175. The wbc knew they had to some way strip him but they didn't want to piss him off they had previously had problems with him so they instead called him franchise champion kind of the same way Pacquiao was called champion in recess. The ultimate winner in that situation was Charlo because he got elevated without fighting anyone.
Like I said, Charlo fans have nothing but their made up narratives since he's got little resume to speak of. Charlo didn't even fight Derev until after Canelo left the division. When they were both at 160, Charlo's highest profile fight was badly struggling with gatekeeper Korobov. He was never even Canelo's mandatory like his fanboys try to claim, and Charlo made it public at the time that he wasn't pushing the issue. Meanwhile his own people said Haymon rejected the fight. Charlo's done nothing but waste his prime years since moving up to 160 without fighitng a champ in nearly 5 years. He clout chased Benavidez and Canelo at 168 but then back tracked and said he's staying put at 160 just to fight a random cherrypick like Montiel and ended up taking damage in that fight but his fanboys are out here trying to call him a hero for it.

Dervyanchenko i view as the Shawn Porter of the middleweight division, he's hell for anyone in that division ... i have to applaud the guy cause he truly doesn't give a fuck who they put in front of him he will fight them to the bone, he's had very little support in this country to get where he is and had to do everything the hard way to even get some sort of recognition and he's actually a pretty decent fighter which i enjoy watching who comes up just a bit short at times ... I got massive respect for Sergiy and i look forward to any of his fights cause i know that he will scrap with the best, Dervyanchenko in my eyes is one of the best gatekeepers i know ....

Very nice and. Excellent fight from the beginning up to the last round.
That fight was great. You see the durability in both fighters. Especially when Derevyanchenko switches his NOS bottle on in the last 4 rounds and at the end Charlo has a big smile on his face like, that was fun! I think he felt a real challenge as a champion.
Has anyone taken on 3 better opponents in a row then Sergey fighting Jacobs, GGG and Charlo? He lost all 3 but I'll bet none of them looking forward to fighting him again. Many thought he beat GGG. He's a blood and guts warrior for sure. He looked too small to be fighting Charlo frankly.

I heard Khabib cuts from 190 to 155. Like bruh that’s just a big guy pretending to be a 155 lb guy. It’s not fair and shouldn’t be allowed

Maybe down the road I see it as a possibility. Charlo should fight Jacobs or GGG next and Benavides should be in there too. Those 4 match up well with each other. Canelo’s probably gonna defend the belts in the super middleweight division for a while

Who won the last round? Despite the way his face was damaged Derevy really laid the wood on Charlo in that round. Charlo landed some hard shots as well but it didn't discourage Derevy from giving all he had, a real brave effort by Derevy in the last round.

Charlo lost to and old way past it inactive Korobov who hadn't fought anyone with a pulse in four years, was almost 36, had only fought once in 23 months, a six rounder against a bum who was 2-11 in their last 13, 9 of those losses via stoppage, and who took the fight on a week's notice after preparing to fight a bum in an 8 rounder on the undecard who was 1-4 in their last 5. The only reason Charlo got the W is because the three US judges robbed the foreigner yet again just like they always do.
Andy Lee stopped a much better, younger, closer to prime Korobov in six rounds
Charlo has stopped 1 of his last 5 opponents, and that fighter was a tiny 154 pounder
John Thompson stopped Bradon Adams in 2, Adams took Charlo the full dustance
Muguia stopped Montiel in 2, Charlo struggled badly against Montiel and was taken the distance by him and hurt by him too

Sometimes there's a matchup whereby one guy looks much larger then the other. When they're both standing at a side view, Charlo's left arm is much larger then Sergey's right arm, much longer as well. In fact, which part of Sergey's anatomy is as large as Charlo's? I find it hard to believe these guys weigh the same, or even within 10 lbs. of each other.
Supposedly charlo was like 180ish or more in this fight.

I see why canelo won’t fight charlo. His head and foot work is really on point in this fight. His counter punching is on point and everything is hard. His jab don’t stop . He just can’t waste punches against canelo. He depends on guys doin g that and getting tired.

You're right, I see the excuses they are coming up with. Charlo dominated most of this fight, but they are saying Dereyanchenko was worn out, wore out fighters don't fight like that. They hate to give Black fighters credit doing anything right.
I believe Charlo was favored, and I heard the announcers being very impressed with Charlo early, then they started saying Derev was making it a closer fight-Idunno about that. I think Derev showed toughness for sure, and he got in a few good shots, but he never looked to be winning rounds to me. I think I saw Derev winning maybe 2 rounds. Especially the 12th.
@@kineahora8736 yeah at 38:30 they said "he's making this a close fight" and I immediately rewinded to make sure I heard them right. It was a great fight, but in no way did I see it as a close fight by that point (midway through the 9th).

Jermall gotta be the most inconsistent guy in the sport. Dude looked amazing vs the guy who almost beat Jacobs and GGG and then in the very next fight he looks like garbage vs a journeyman.
Dude lulled Jermall to sleep in his last fight. Cuz remember, Charlo dominated the first half of the fight, and to me it looked like he thought the rest of the fight was going to be a cakewalk. And that's when his opponent (forgive me for not remembering his name at the moment), came alive and started giving Charlo a major challenge
The style and circumstances also favored Charlo because Derevyanchenko is a face first fighter with not much one punch power who was coming off of taking all kinds of damage to those guys. Fighters with that style don't have a long shelf life.

There are a lot of Charlo haters on this comment section, saying hypothetical bullshit about Canelo would or could do against him, all of us so called "experts" don't know what will happen, but I would love to see the fight.
I don’t agree that if you think Canelo would beat him, that makes you a “Charlo hater”.
Everyone these days throws around “hate” and “racist” when someone is merely giving an opinion. I just saw this fight and my initial reaction is “why was everyone saying what a great fight this was?” What I saw was Charlo winning 9-10 rounds, and Derev winning 2-3, showing toughness by being able to be effective in the 12th round despite taking a thorough beating from Charlo throughout the fight.
That doesn’t mean Charlo will have the same success if he would accept a fight with Canelo (I say this because he previously turned down a Canelo fight). I really like Charlo’s stiff jabs-way better than Plant’s jabs in my opinion-faster and harder. Not sure he would be able to withstand Canelo’s power-to me Canelo is one of the hardest-hitting middle-division fighters I have seen (my favorite was Marvin Hagler, and I liked Julian Jackson) and Canelo goes to the body way more than most fighters. Canelo also has great defense now and an excellent chin-I don’t think he gets rocked by some of the punches that landed on Derevyanchenko.
I definitely want to see Canelo fight both Charlo and Benavidez-but since Canelo has all the buzz and profile, and his fights are big money, and now he has all the belts at 168, he gets to call the shots. If I were Charlo and Benavidez, you have to keep honing your skill and adding to your star and not just wait around for Canelo to pick you.

The problem comes when people make excuses or reasons for Canelo not fighting Charlo, and then saying Charlo hasn't fought anyone good on his resume, cut the bullshit make the fight happen, and see for ourselves who is better.
