Dead Island (which includes dead island and the ryder white campaign dlc, dead island riptide, and the upcoming dead island 2).
This is probably the best summary of the two games I’ve seen yet, especially making it cohesive to the time line with all its time hopping shenanigans lol
Definitely the best summation video of Bayo so far.
I would just like to clarify, that Balder was "originally" taken from his time in Bayo 2 by Loptr, who convinced him that Loki was Rosa's assailant and that's why he was after Loki.
Also, Balder and Bayo fighting Aesir together was a milestone becuse they summoned Omne, a being of Inferno and Paradiso... A summon the two clans could never achieve beforehand.

Great video! I love Bayonetta 1&2 and I've played through both of them multiple times. This recap showed me that even with all of those playthroughs I never actually knew the story behind the games. I lost count how many times I've said out loud "Huh? Oh really?" during this video.

The Bayonetta series actually has one of the best stories it just doesn't make a lot of sense when you're playing the game and seeing the cutscenes just after being filled with adrenaline and defeating a number of enemies.
Can't wait for Bayonetta 3 I love this series and I'm so glad for the recap now I can focus on something new while I wait for October 28.

It's crazy how bayonetta 1 and 2 are so connected in terms of plot its really mind blowing on how much lore and detail the two games have man this is why I love the story of these games. So anyway basicly with all of this time meddling, history is just repeating its self again meaning a loop just happened? So Lofter is the true catalyst of these events? Meaning that everything we just witnessed in bayonetta 1 & 2 all of this happened because of him. Talk about a real fillabuster right there.

In the most recent trailer, Viola mentions a singularity. And now we’re dealing with alternate reality Bayonettas a plenty. I’d say Loki’s little gamble in erasing the Eyes of The World had a bigger impact than any of us expected.
But the thing is... that would only affect that bayos world. All bayonettas have the third eye. One gets erased but not all. You could say thats the world where singularity was born, but it doesn't help the ending that all other bayos should still have it considering they've made different choices. For each counter part of chaos, technically there should be a counter part of that worlds loki and loptr. The worlds are to vastly different for them to have just one.

THANK YOU for this- while I have played the games a few times, the time travel shenanigans can get a little confusing (heck, I learned things I didn't even know in the first place lol). I am so ready to play Bayo3, and then probably do an entire gameplay of the series. Thanks again!

Is this story somehow connected to Devil May Cry with Enzo being the whole information broker like a certain “Enzo” in Dante’s backstory too. Just curious.

Actually in a comic run for DMC Enzo is seen in the comic. Whether there will be a crossover of some kind or its just a nod at humor is up for debate

Trying to summerise the bayonetta story is like trying to summerise the future
This video was so helpful, I didn't understand a thing when I played Bayonetta 2, I just skipped the cutscenes and had fun playing the game, I just finished Bayonetta 1 but I didn't want to rebuy 2 (cause it's not the easiest game to find nowadays) but now I know everything that happened, can't wait to start Bayonetta 3

I loved both games and was surprised by the story, especially 2, which was a sequel/prequel. Also it redeemed Baldur, one of my favorite character from the series.

If you have a Nintendo console you should really consider playing Bayonetta 2. It's really an amazing experience.

It’s so funny how everything the franchise worked up to was crushed in the end, Bayo 1 and 2’s storyline ended up meaning nothing for 3 other than “oh yeah the two other Cerezas are here. How? Don’t ask any questions”

Wickedly fun, as are most of the developers. However, stories are too overly dramatic. At some point you just get desensitized to the twists.
New bayonetta fan and I am curious/lost by 1 part of the games story.
In bayonetta 2 where both of the eyes are destroyed and Aesir enters the “pass” Balder’s body and returns to the pass where “that” Balder is originally from.
This then starts the plot for the first bayonetta game. But in this timeline, “that” Balder that is now possessed does not have the “left” eye nor the “right” eye cause it was destroyed before returning to “Balder’s” own timeline.
So how does the possessed Balder in bayonetta 1 have the “right” eye when he is looking to get bayonetta’s left eye?
Balder was manipulated by Loptr until 1’s whole thing

But how could all other Umbra Witches be wiped out? Witches are incredibly powerful compared to regular humans, it's not just Bayonetta, Jaune, and Rosa who are the only powerful witches around, isn't it implied that the other Umbra Witches were pretty strong as well?
Also, I might have forgotten or missed a few things, but why does Aesir want to take back the Eyes of the World if he's the one who gave them to humanity in the first place?
Also, why are the demons of Inferno fighting Bayonetta in the second game too? I might've missed that as well.

Honestly the first two games are the perfect duology, so much so I'm not personally counting Bayonetta 3 in my head-canon. I really enjoyed it, but a lot of stuff just didn't sit right with me, so I'm just sticking with the first two. Viola was awsome though

Almost none of Bayonetta's plot made any sense to me before watching this.
Wish this hapend in bayonetta but sadly bayonetta 3 prooved it wrong and made a bad ending 😭 ( not attacking if you like the ending then good for you i am just saying my oppinion )

Fun fact: in each new game, Bayonetta gets one more barrel added to her gun.
No actually in the first game she started out with two. In the 2nd she had just one. I don't they were thinking of bayo 1 and 2 with the plot of the 3rd one in mind because it's so disconnected from the tone of 1 and 2 all together.

This game is DMC in all but name
It’s literally created by the same guy. It’s very much intentional. They even have a character from the DMC novels as a major side character.

I just finished Bayonetta 3 and even with your recap, I dont get the link between the 3 main characters.
Because the 3rd one had a very poor storyline that disregarded all the build-up from 1 and 2.
I loved the first one but it was a little to cinematic for me
