    Hi, I just want to say wearing eyelid tape, I made the crease permanent. Im asian and have one eye that is way more hooded than the other one. Permanent change is possible but you have place them on the same spot and wear them every day, all day ( even during sleep) for 30 days. My crease is permanet, however, if I cry or after a night of drinking (dont judge me 😂), or my face is swollen, my eye will revert to its old shape but it is fixed by wearing the tape again for a few hours. My eyes have been even for about 4 years now. Higly recommend!!!

    Damn I'm late to this one, but from someone who's been using eyelid tape for several years, just wanna share a few things I've experienced.
    If you place the tape on an angle, inner corner pointing up and outer corner pointing down, it will balance out the awkward straightness of the tape, so your eyelid won't look too stiff.
    If you have hooded eyelids and not mono eyelids, then you can probably cut the tape into half the size, it will still hold the crease but it won't show as much.
    I also found that it does make the eyelid sag a little bit over time, but it's not too severe. A little tip is that you can remove the eyelid tape with some oil, like removing eye makeup, instead of just ripping it right off, to avoid pulling on your eyelids.
    PS. the mesh type are probably the most invisible ones I've tried, but it takes extra steps (glue and such). Also the matte finish eyelid tapes are also good, they are less noticeable and grab onto makeup pretty well.
    :) Hope this helps someone out there who's curious about eyelid tapes.

    I had mismatched hooded eyes, being the asian that I am, so I purchased the double sided tape. over a period of six month, I was able to train my eyelid folds to crease at a higher section. be very gentle when removing because when you're tugging skin around the eyes, last thing you want is to stretch the skin out even further. use oils to remove said tape and wash the adhesive off your face with your cleanser. I did have periods where the old crease returned but I popped that sucker back on to retrain for a day and it stuck. I haven't had to use the tape in over a year now and still have my eyelids. trust me, I was skeptical when Michelle phan first mentioned it but it actually does work with patience and time!

      There're so many double lid makers in Asia. I first seen this kind of sticker since 10-15 years ago. This kind of sticker is very old fashion. We now have something better which is invisible and blend into the skin. So you can't really see it any more. Check out "Hello Eye Tape" on Instagram #noad
      It's a lace (like lace wig) comes with glue. It's waterproof, scrub proof, oil proof. You can apply the lace double eyelid maker prior or post the makeup. I usually apply the lace after I finished my eye makeup. It's invisible.

    • @soihugyou
      @soihugyou Před 7 lety +27

      There are 3-4kinds of double eyelid makers
      1) Sticker (very old fashion. totally visible on makeup. Least effective. Easiest to use. For beginner. You cannot rub you eyes. NOT RUB PROOF. NOT OIL PROOF. Cannot apply on top of powder.
      2) String (It looks like dental floss. Very thin. Barely visible. However it's quite hard to use and NOT scrub proof)
      3) Lace+glue (Very new. Invented a few years ago. Very easy to use. Can apply before or after makeup. Can use on top of glitter and powder eyeshadow. Doesn't ruin the eye makeup. Waterproof. Rubproof, you can rub you eye as usual. Oil proof. Last all day and all night until you remove it with makeup remover.)
      4) Adhesive Glue&Stick (Not really effective. You cannot close your eyes completely because it stick your lid together to make crease.) #noad

Since makeup became so huge on social media, it has kind of turned into a personal art form. And there are so many gorgeous eyeshadow colors and finishes available now. The larger one's exposed eyelid area is, the more "art" you can make and show off. It's fun.

      chelle. Mind if I ask u a question? Anyway I just watched Stephanie Langs video on tape for hooded eyes then read ur comment. How long does the tape stay on? Do u go through alot cause obviously u can't reuse. I have really bad hooded eyes that sometimes I use scotch tape to pull them up. That's for home only.

    • @MoreMishelle
      @MoreMishelle Před 6 lety +7

      Susan Bryant heyyy i didnt see ur comment so im sorry its so late!! the tape stays on the entire day until you take it off. you should take it off every night and either use it daily or whever you feel like you need to. usually you can buy packs or rolls of eyelid tape for super cheap online so its not really a big deal if you go through them quickly! i have a roll of eyelid tape that ive been using daily for a year or two now and im still not finished yet.

      I was just thinking that! And it goes with the "glam look" of a thick wing and long false lashes. It's good to know that chunky glitter is best, also, but that makes sense, too. The chunks can almost sit on top of the tape edge, not accentuate it.

I'm WAY too old for glitter shadows and even for shimmer/frost shadows. They just make my eyelids look like little relief maps. Will matte eye shadows not work at all? Or do I just have to be extra careful not to lift the edges of the tapes with the eye shadow application? I _really_ want to try these as I've experimented a bit with Scotch tape and I can see the benefit of using tapes, even if Scotch tape is the totally wrong product. I mean, when I had it on, my eyelids looked like they looked 20 years ago!

    I was seriously thinking of getting eyelid surgery in the future until I found these! You don't put them on in one movement like she did. You hold them on one side and put one end on and slowly put them down. Make sure skin has no oil on, but add an oil-based moisturiser on top which makes them melt into your skin. You can get hundreds of them on eBay very cheaply. They're amazing!

    If you are a side or stomach sleeper these things make your hooded lids much worse! It restricts blood flow and builds up causing fluid retention - and then your face swells which makes the puffiness in the eyelids more prominent. Try to sleep on your back at a slight angle :)

      BUT if you sleep on your back you get sleep paralysis (SO much easier - when I started sleeping on my left side, all sleep paralysis went off, not even one in three years!!) - and I can promise, that you don't never ever want to experience that, sleep paralysis was horryfying minutes in my life !! so because I (apparently) have to choose, I would rather continue being a side sleeper. I hate my hooded eye lids so much, but I'm too afraid that sleep paralysis will come back, if I start to sleep on my back again

    OMG!!! I literally need this i my life! I look like I'm giving permanent mean looks to people because of how narrow my eyes due to having a mono-lid AND saggy outer corners. How small my eyes appear because of this makes my other features look very large in comparison (kinda like John Travolta's look). So this could make me look like I used to as a teenager, well my eyes at least!

      I have this issue too, just in the last few years. I tried this tape on my one droopy eyelid for my wedding rehearsal and I swear one of my bridesmaids was staring at my eye all night, and was too polite to ask what was on my eye. I trimmed it so you couldn't see it with your eye open, but you definitely see it when you blink! Still very visible under eye shadow, even dark eye shadow. But the concept is amazing, because it does work.

    I'm an asian with mono eyelid and I have to say this is not recommended for a daily routine, it requires a certain amount of effort and you still have the risk of them falling off and ruin your make up, you have to be on watch like every 30mins. Beside not only you can feel it there but also SEE it there under natural light. Instagram photo only might be a great idea.
    Personal thought of course (:

    I suggest for you to use tweezers to apply it on. The oils on your fingers make the eyelid tape less sticky! When taking off the eyelid tape, you should use water or makeup remover, whichever you prefer, because it does sag your eyelids throughout time when you don't carefully take it off. Other than that, if you use it for a year or two then it should permanently change your eyelids since you already have double eyelids! Thanks for the video though! 💓

    Stephanie, you definitely have hooded eyes and they are beautiful, corrected with tape or not! I have severely hooded eyes and the ones I use look identical to yours. I've applied them under makeup and over makeup. I have extremely dry skin but my eyelids and crease area underneath the hoods tend to get oily and I've found the tapes stick a lot better when I use eyelid primer first. Sometimes I also dab on a little clear eyelash glue and that also works very well. Thanks for the video!
