- Jörg Sprave did a (complimentary) design for the well known slingshot manufacturing company "Milbro" (AKA hogancastings) from out of England.

The "Hand Howitzer" is shown in this video, in brass, bronze and in black anodized aluminum. The strongest band set is used to shoot 30 and 31 mm steel balls into a big ballistic gelatin block, and the big balls did cause serious damage.

Lmao, I cant stop watching your videos, I just found out about slingshots last week, and have fallen in love. I am so happy when i hit cans, but watching your channel i just cant stop laughing. Thank you my friend, God bless!
Not only are your films fun and educational, they are very clear and sharp even on the lowest resolutions. Splendid work!
Official birth time 1:48 of Joergs evil Santa "Harharhar" laughs.
Loved slingshots as a kid, then slings later on. You've reignited my passion for slingshots. I'm going to get the Hand Howitzer. Thanks!
Man I’ve fantasized about having this slingshot since high school 12 years ago. Thing is still absolutely amazing.
You must be proud to finally have a model design available to all the people out there asking or even demanding that you provide something for market.
Maybe even a bit relieved :D
Who would try to troll on Joerg? He's probably one of the most liked people on youtube. How could you NOT like him?!
Jörg you are an inspiration for people who make thier own entertainment and engineering. auch, ich spreche deutsch.
@CanalPejoteros You can use regular slingshots for paintballs, lots of people do. Jack Koehler tells us in his slingshot book that he used paint balls for hunting sports, so the game does not get hurt.
Imagine getting hit by joerg,he could perform firing squad execution alone with his slingshot
I got my bronze howitzer in the mail today. What a solid piece of metal. Hammer grip fits my hand very well. I look forward to shooting it tomorrow.
the look on your face when the table went over was priceless!
I never could imagine , that one could shoot such big projectiles that effectively and powerful , .......great vid , thanks for sharing .
That's an awesome slingshot.
Keep up the good work and great videos.
LOVE the video Joerg! Very nice slingshot and I really like that you left the "table falling" part in! Talk about blunt force power!!!!
lmao, once again thank you so much. You make my day. I did receive a couple of your model slingshots. Very very nice. Whats funnier is I have no idea how Parliament is but cant be any worst then U.S. Government. Probably same. Thanks again, you seem like a real nice guy.
WOW! That is great demonstration to the power of your slingshot, I would love to see more use of the ballistic gel. You have a great channel and I always look forward you your vids.
The kinetic energy that it has is amazing
i put that video on for my 3 year old niece and sorry about what was said - my older sister thinks this is fake i really adore your videos,i learn off them really well,so sorry about all the commotion i am on my other youtube account that i gave to my older sister
Very impressive. I really enjoy the videos that you make, sir. Please continue with all the interesting sling shot videos!
small, light, simple, and very effective. I could not ask anything more from a sling-shot.
Looks like the "Hand Howitzer" slingshot is a rousing success!
Keep up the great work.
BTW your laugh is infectious,Jörg I laughed out loud after the first shot!
need something stronger than the like button for your videos...i love em..great work!
@we66y357 They plan to make it in bronze (shiny and heavy) and in black anodized aluminum (lightweight). Oops about the typo! Will correct it, thanks.
I gave that design to Milbroproshot, therefore I can't publish blueprints. You would have to ask them.
Great work you make some pretty interesting and innovative designs :)
1:39 I thought he was gonna try to throw the steal ball into the ballistics gell
Wow that second shot was nearly a bulls eye over the first. Nice Aim!
1:49 made my evening, cheers to you sir.
I have one and its for life, thanks Joerg...
I love the way he says ballistic gelatin. :P
dam awsome slingshots man !!!!! so much power
I choked on my breath when the ball went into the ballistic jelly
these videos are great. i like the way that you first said balistic gelatin. i wonder what a smaller round would do
excellent work Joerg ,,well done indeed!
your the most awsome man on youtube
Awesome video! Very cool.
The trauma cavity formed around the balls was incredible! Especially considering that unlike bullets the steel balls dont deform on impact.
You are hilarious! Your videos are awesome, keep it up
Cool, look forward to seeing the vid, al try and post mine as soon as i can.
im oddly amused by all this, bring back memories of childhood bird shooting and such haha
So after about a week long marathon of watching all of these videos, I feel like I'm best friends with Jörg. Does anyone else get that feeling? If I were to see him in a market (By chance in the U.S. hah) I would have no problem saying hello!
jeorg, a long time ago I used to hold the belief that a slingshot couldn't be stronger than a bow. since watching your videos I've found that that's not necessarily the case. thank you for enlightening me
awesome videos my friend......thank you.
I love that hearty laugh. :)
Over 100 jls. Thats hand gun power. Wow
these are my type of videos! subscribed and liked :D
It is not 'jelly', it is balistic gel. It is as resistant to shoot through as flesh and muscle. Mythbusters use it loads, sometimes they set bones in it too, for added realism!
I love tests on gel, thanks!
@adamanime2 Watch my video "slingshot vs. coconut".
Thanks for your reply Joerg i will deffinetly take that info into consideration. Keep up ur awsm vids man.
@superfag1011 The bands never tear at the fork tips, always at the pouch.
Your slingshots never stop impressing me, Every vid I watch me and my girlfriend both just sit here in HOLY SHIT mode. :P
Amazing troll laugh at 1:52!!!
Nice vid, Jörg!!
wow very cool. need more vids with that one breaking more stuff.
@versatilechicken Sure.
joergsprave i love that brass hand howitzer slingshot... i really want one of those and am fascinated in the design, prolly couldnt afford it though :(
That was awesome. I would like to have one for myself.
@robdux I live in Germany, but I do travel to the US a few times each year.
Aloha from Hawaii, By way of Philadelphia. I just stumbled onto a video of Yours. Good Stuff
Your videos are amazing mate! Watching them back to back, love every episode!
@flyod26 If you are in Germany, google Kugel-Winnie. Sorry, links don't work in comments.
Your laugh is amazing!
I like how you "accidentally" call them 30mm Cannon balls @ 1:30 lol
But when it hit...DAAAMMM
Hi Joerg! I'm very impressed by your channel. It's given me alot of entertainment as well as ideas of my own. Keep up the good work and never mind the trolls. They're talentless and narrowminded. Ciao
You have the best laugh ever.
tolles hobby und schöner audi :P
that thing must have a metric shit-ton of energy! nice vid!
you should be a guest on deadliest warrior
Good shit my brother.
I got a bronze one. It is SO cool.
Stuart James where from ❓❓❓
your a awesome guy :D
It'd be interesting to see that slingshot versus a chunk of meat or a side of ham with its ribs still intact. Most people don't think that elastic sling shots can penetrate at all. I'd have been inclined to agree until I saw this video, would be a neat video.
You do great designs Jorg would really like to meet you sometime people say we look simular 😁hope you never give up slingshots &you tube !!! THANKS
Man you're awesome
i am so thankful for you generosity, i have ordered the anodised aluminium howitzer, but i am not sure if it will get back through australian customs :(
@SGWyoshi Well, firearms got invented several hundreds of years before slingshots, as the vulcanization process wasn't discovered before the mid 1800's. Charles Goodyear is my man!
@jordanrussell123 Only if you shoot very heavy ammo with very weak bands. But then again this is a howitzer and not a BB slingshot - who would want to put weak bands on it?
Wow, now that's stopping power! Look at that transfer of kinetic energy.
@mjw789234 Thanks man, I appreciate the response. I will be going back through the channel now to see where I missed that and have therefore put foot-in-mouth.
Great!
I am no hunter and lack the experience to answer your question. But in general, you would have to be good enough to hit the head of the animal, reliably, under the stress if the hunt, with strong bands and heavy ammo. Few shooters are THAT good.
The hand made ones, no. I never sell. But I gave designs (for free) to several manufacturers. Dankung has my Panther and my Cougar, Gamekeeper John has my Lead Launcher, Milborproshot even casts my Hand Howitzer and Moorhammer in aluminum and bronze.
@SGWyoshi In a short distance, the pellet that an airsoft gun launches can penetrate (superficially) flesh. So a lead ball launched by strong rubber bands can kill someone. : )
All the howitzers are solid, Doesn't matter if it aluminium, brass or steel. You can't shoot arrows from the sling shot even if you cut notches in it because the forks are too wide. I am working on a way to fire arrows from these without modifying the howitzer itself, al post a video on my youtube channel as soon as am happy with my deign.
Sweet.
I wish you had some ballistic skull bone to see what it would theoretically do to a troll skull.
By the way, the bronze one gets the typical brown patina on it that doesn't reflect light much.
i did like it thank you sir
hand howitzer? awesome name! :P
for non-german speakers: _'handhaubitze'_ is a reference to the german term _'strandhaubitze'_ (beach howitzer), which is often used in the saying _'voll wie 'ne strandhaubitze'_ (literally: 'full/filled up like a beach howitzer') and mean something like _'drunken as fuck'._
thanks for the explenation. i was saying hand howitzer to my parents all day long. lol
*****
well, besides that rambone is also a name for a dildo, i have no idea, where he got this name from. a reference to rambo? a reference to the verb 'to ram' (also used in its german version by 'rammstein')? i have no idea. :)
montanus777 acually howizer is a powerfull cannon like weapon that they used back in ww1 i think.
1:51 epic belly laugh
What bands would you suggest for this beauty? I just purchased the limited edition from the metal working website :D. Wish I could buy more, but I am on a budget.
of course! I mean it has higher motion in air and Magnus force can't effect it as well perfect angular momentum
awesome! best ever- i
Nice videos and great ideas! When will the hand-howitzer be available? I hope very soon:)
rofl i love this channel
@JoergSprave It would have been interesting to see how deep 15 or 20 mm ammo penetrated ? I appreciate you already spend a lot of time on slingshots and your craftmanship and style is awesome. I have seen you have a chrony in 1 of your other vids. If possible when if you do similar videos pls could you chrony them. PS I understand if not and appreciate what you.
gee, thanks for the tip Joerg.
I don't doubt how powerful these slingshots are. But, I would be curious to know the average maximum distance at which they would still penetrate the ballistic gel by 50%. Great vids, thanks for posting them.
If the method is true to the name of hogancastings then it would be solid. The casting method involves pouring molten metal into a mold. It is possible to do hollow castings but it is much more work. So would guess that it is solid.
Jörg.....I have been checking out your vids for a few days now, and I am in awe of your engineering and craftsmanship. I too like working with wood, and would like to try my hand at this. I know you have mentioned it in your videos, but (forgive me) I can't quite make out the type of rubber you call out. Is it something that's readily available?
Have you ever gone hunting with these slingshots? It looks like you cound take down something pretty big with that.
