  • MMA H.E.A.T. brings you UFC President Dana White's media scrum, which took place directly after the UFC 149 post-fight press conference. The first-ever UFC show in Calgary was by all accounts a disappointing show in terms of action, and Dana lets us know how he feels about the fights that took place. He also discusses the Middleweight landscape, when Cruz vs Barao might happen and what he thinks can be done about the reffing and judging in MMA.

  • @LossesCostUs
    @LossesCostUs Před 12 lety

    You're right. It's a ton of pressure. They have to think quick, observe carefully, circle to the right side, and more. And if they mess up, they have to deal with the ridicule or angers from the fans, Dana, or sometimes, the fighters. Refs make mistakes; it's natural. Yamasaki was pretty game that night, but he messes up a lot. Herb Dean ends fights too early sometimes. ETC But I agree with Dana with Yves and Josh. They just did something horrible against the progress of the fight.

    True, Sonnen would still have to try hard to win the fight, even if that means grinding with him for the rest of 5 rounds and get a decision. But that back spinning fist was really not necessary at all.

But I'm going to enjoy all his fights because it won't be to long before he does retire, especially when he only fights 2-3 times a year he's only 5-6 fights from 40

    Yup. Kongo should choose NOT to make 100,000 grand in 15 minutes because you think it's boring. That fight sucked, but Kongo had a reason to fight light that. Jordan didn't and the ref didn't have a reason to let it go on. However, Kongo did what he should have.

I am 100% sure, watch a strikeforce video in another tab and listen to Ranelo's voice then switch straight here its Mauro for sure I would put money on it, Iam that sure

  • @jameskirk2700

    Probably would end up on the ground Silva's weak point is take-down defence, But he is and was very hard to hurt on the ground unless you can submit him or really throw him around like Rampage did in Pride or Jones did to Matt hammil. Jones might beat Silva that way, If the ref stopped it Sonnen could have just have easily fell trying the back fist then. It is what it is, I dont think Sonnen could win with out grinding a decision, its a big ask for anyone, Silva has a few ways to catch him

  • @jameskirk2700
    @jameskirk2700 Před 12 lety

    Cant see it happening, Diaz would have to come up and quick, Silva is near retiring and Diaz would have to win at least one fight to get a shot. But I think Silva would KO or TKO him unless Diaz could get him down even then it would only be a slight advantage to Diaz maybe a stalemate, Anderson is near enough his level of BJJ, Honestly think Silva's biggest enemy is time, at 37 its running out fast. Diaz would bring it tough he is relentless

    I've been a Silva fan since he started KOing people in Pride and seen him live at Cage Rage events. When he KTFO of Leben people were surprised but I wasn't. I had seen him TKO Rivera, KO Stout, Newton and Fryklund in devastating style. I like fighters who end fights, when he lets loose he ends fights in devastating fashion. But his biggest enemy is time he is 37 and unless he retires soon some body will make a big name for them self by beating an old Silva and that would be a shame

  • @ABertram2323
    @ABertram2323 Před 12 lety

    agreed! kongo fought that way in my opinion because jordan engaged in a clinch attempt first. and as for boestch, i think he lost the fight. hector took him down twice, had him hurt with the kick, and landed bigger shots. boestch landed extremely weak leag kicks, and had 1 takedown, and otherwise did basically nothing except bounce around. at least condit landed a hella lot of stirkes to somewhat justify his win. i like boestch, but he lost the fight. as did nick ring

    dana is absolutely right about the refs. watch the fransico riveira finish on delorme. roland was clearly out, and yamasaki just half assed and slowly and gently pushes riveira off, all while delorme is already out, and takes one more big shot that could have been stopped. same with perosh. im a rosenthal fan, but he was off again tonight. perosh was absolutely out cold and took another huge shot because the ref was out of position. they need to realize that a fighters safety is on the line

    This is by far the hardest sport for refs.. it sucks when they make mistakes but they don't always have the same angle as us so sometimes they see things we don't see and sometimes don't see we see and sometimes see things different than we see it. There are no replays, once a call is made it's final and the calls HAVE to be fast.. it's not like they can call a timeout and wait a minute to make up their mind. Sometimes their mistakes are dumb as fuck, but can't always blame them straight up

    Just like Fedor, got old, rusty, slow and careless. And I'm a huge Fedor fan. But grabbing a leg is much different than shorts, there's much more grip at shorts. It was obvious that Chael was giving his best to take him down on 2nd but it was impossible for him. Chael is one of the best wrestlers, Silva is no match for him when it comes to that but he used what he could.
    If the ref did his job well, he would have stopped silva immediately. Silva would be on the ground for rest of the round.
