Theories:Maybe Mr. Orvhill was experimenting in his lab and somehow fused a piece of the deep night onto nightfall or 0011 I think was his name because nightfalls back has some purple thing on his back that glows when he activates his ability.
I really hope we get to explore Nightfall, his origins and about the entire Nightfall virus in an abandoned lab in future chapters/nights one day.. I'm very curious on finding the origins of Nightfall if he was either an infected teen nor captured as a test subject in an unknown lab/facility. He would play a perfect role in the lab sequence! He should honestly play like a stalker-enemy type where he looks around and tries to find the player/survivor in the lab while the players/survivors hides from him collecting information about the Deep Night nor the amplifier's in the lab sequence. (If it happens though, hopefully..)
What if Mr.Orvhill was the one who made nightfall the test subject of what happens if a human vessel has contact on a high level on the deep night for to long?
My theory is Mr. oveall or whatever his name is is nightfall. Nightfall also apear during Halloween event when you pick up his case. He also can be seen when his event is open. He also has a disguise outfit. With all these in mind, this makes me believe he might also be secretly on the good side or a sneaky/stealth villain . (I could definitely be wrong tho)
That could be why they see a dead body. Orville could have had his soul transported, or in another way, his consciousness be transferred over to nightfall.
I have a average theory about Nightfall watching us, you can see the "living beings" at the lab in chapter 2 (guest house) Nightfall probably got away from it or he was another survivor that coyote was thinking if they were alive or Nightfall was free from a certain experiment in that lab, probably he is apart of the deep night but maybe he is free from he control of Deepnight but it is strange for him to watch us and our every movement probably in the last night he would be an boss battle or will help us stop the deep night i mostly doubt he would help because he has Deep Night Like Power
I have another theory:what if there's multiple nightfalls? Like there are currently 3 nightfalls with each of them having they're own kind of ability. And what if they're dead or kidnapped survivors that was turned into a nightfall because nightfall is wearing a jacket and what if he's the one who owns the baseball bat in the lobby because he looks like he could own it.And disguised nightfall is wearing a mysterious cape or cloth on him like murch,what if he was a merchant and got kidnapped by Mr.orvhill and turned into a nightfall and now he sells us his blacklight items because he hates the deep night and Mr.orvhill for turning him into a nightfall and is helping us fight back or protect with his items. And maybe he's stalking us to make sure we're okay or that we don't get kidnapped and turned into a nightfall like him later on.
For the Coyote traitor theory, I used to think he might've been a traitor or a spy when the introduction and teasers came out, but then the stuff he says in night 1 and night 2 just felt like Coyote was a survivor with some sort of PTSD. Of course, it could just Coyote acting, but it kinda feels genuine.
Mr. Orvhille could be the ??? survivor because when you first find it, it appears to be examining the large purple orb in the lab recovered from the rocks. Edit: in the cabin, there also is a room that appears to be blocked off with the deep night, once you reach level 100, you can enter the room. The room is actually the room that is glowing purple outside. once you go inside, you can find the same technology in the lab recovered from the rocks, and a machine that was able to create a miniature version of the orb we see in the lab in the basement. Also the theory about Aila messing with the amplifier to counter the deep night has practically been confirmed, since the gear we get in Night 2 called 'Deep Night RIG' uses Deceiver's mask to walk through doors and give a speed boost to the survivor.
After hunt joins A.I.L.A DEFINITELY HACKS THE AMPLIFIERS H.U.N.T JUST START OPERATION OVRVILLE AND DEEP IS CONTROLLED THE DED BODY OF MALCOLM CUZ YOU KNOW COMMANDER YOU GAVE IT A HOST WHEN WE KILL ANOMALIES IN HUNT MODE DEEP NIGHT ATTRACT THEM TOWARDS HIMSELF
This is just a theory. So we all know that merch is the good guy here, but maybe Nightfall is the good guy, lemme explain. So possibly like you said Coyote could be a spy. Or maybe he is working with Orville. There is a Nightfall skin that shows Nightfalls full body. You can see that nightfall was clearly a human once. He has black hair, and pale skin. Maybe Coyote, Merch, and Orville worked together and turned Nightfall into what he is. And when they turned Nightfall into what he is, Merch saw the evil in Orville so he left him and Coyote. And when they both met back up Nightfall attacked Merch because he was apart of the whole thing. And in night 2 Nightfall helps us by killing the slasher because he’s trying to help us stop Orville and Coyote.

I have a theory. Maybe Mr. Orvhille could actually be the ??? avatar. Some evidence I have is that ??? looks a lot like a ghost, and considering that Mr. Orvhille died, he could be the ??? avatar. Plus, considering he was influential to the Deep Night growth, the Deep Night could’ve repaid him by bringing him back to life in the form of the ??? avatar. More junk for you : in a pirates tale that game does count as a reality because one of the dungeon sections in the game after finishing the maze you go into the stn mao dungeon however it does give a blueish look though but it’s dungeon also when you try to get grappling hook at the end you go to a portal: and remember how you said that murch teleports well that might be the place but hold up they re are monsters? Maybe that has something to do with stn I dunno

Nah, although Murch does fire 3 shots, as nightfall has 3 gun shot wounds in his chest, you can see where Murch's bullets hit, Murch ended up missing every shot he fired.
