  • Landmark Beach has now moved to Ibeno, a town in Akwa Ibom state housing the popular Ibeno beach.
‪@WalkerDiary‬ understands that the government of Akwa Ibom welcomed the management of Landmark Beach with both hands and had already allotted space for it to commence operations at the beachfront.

Is a good development to the state and Ibeno people, Ibeno beach is located in Ibeno local government area in Akwa Ibom state, not uyo nor Eket. Ibeno is local government on his own. Thanks please correct it.

    Wow,
That will be cool if Landmark is indeed considering Ibeno beach.
But the landmark group will still need to confirm with ministry of works to be sure of the Lagos Cabalar road and rail path in Akwa Ibom. This is to avoid a repeat of what's currently going on in Lagos

    • @WalkerDiary
      @WalkerDiary  Před 4 měsíci

Absolutely, but with what Akwa Ibom is doing in the tourism sub-sector the Lagos experience won't happen to Landmark...

@Uty-yo9np the Landmark Beach issue with the Lagos/Calabar coastal highway would not have happened if the Federal Government of Nigeria stayed with it's original plan. It was unfortunate that the government changed the original plan of the coastal road long after the Landmark Group had commenced business. Yes the Lagos/ Calabar coastal road is an important road IF, and only IF it can be completed as planned on paper and on time. But the east west road till date, has it been completed after all these decades??? And why wasn't the landmark Group and the "GOOD" beach given time to fully pack up their business? There seem to be foul play and MAJOR interests here. Anyway I pray the CONCRETE road ( with two railway tracks)is completed ( ALL THE WA THROUGH THE COASTAL STATES OF SOUTHERN NIGERIA TO CALABAR) in eight years as projected. I am also happy with the Landmark group and the partnership with the Akwa Ibom State government of Pastor Umoh Eno and the relevant local government authorities

I am happy for Landmark. Relocating to the longest sand beach in West Africa is a perfect opportunity. Akwa Ibom is historically blessed.

Discouraging investors is coming back to hunt and hurt Lagosians sooner than later; by the time we fix Port Harcourt and Calabar seaports, Agbadorians would be on their knees for the Igbos to come back.

Good move. The government, both state and local still has some minimum work to do. Security, regular cleaning of the beach, stop touts from harassing beach goers.

    Landmark Mistake No.2
This investor having left Lagos ought to have taken time off to take a breath in and reflect before making his next move. Being forced out of Lagos is bad, but rushing to Ibeno is not the answer either. Ibibio people are great folks, very hard working and probably nearest to the Igbo in terms of worldview and work ethics. But a bird that flies off the ground to perch in an anthill is still on the ground. If a major group like Yoruba could feel so overwhelmed to resort to irrational action, how much more minority Ibibios if and when Landmark starts thriving? Did he consider moving to Oziza/Ndibe, Oguta, Azumini, Onitsha etc. maka ndi uta?

You have no vision. He would be very stupid not to. Businesses are already there. A boat service can take Lagosians there for weekend trips. Cheap and affordable lodging and 5 star hotels can be built there. Train can also go there in future. Given the fact that Ibeno beach is 34 kilometres long and the longest in West Africa they can target western tourists who will spend too dollars and not even Lagosians. That is jackpot out there for someone with a vision. 3 carnivals a year on that beach will bring in tourists. Once they start visiting if Nigerian government can end insecurity and fill the beach with soldiers to protect people. Build hospitals and a frigate of the Nigerian navy at sea with 6 tiny patrol boats protecting travellers by ocean from Lagos? That will become the greatest real estate in Africa in the next 100 years. Can you picture it now? The limits of your success if you have money is the limits of your imagination. ❤🇳🇬🌍🇳🇬

@@alvanalvino All you are saying about Ibeno could be true....although there's too many "If"s to contend with.

@@aframaco9491 You are correct about Tinapa. Great dreams are built on ifs fam. Like the independence of Nigeria, the nation it has become before it was hijacked and captured were all based on one strong ifs.
If we have a business oriented and extremely successful president who is over educated like Peter Obi or another in the near future after Tinubu we can achieve it. It’s possible, if they don’t select a fake weakling as leader and rig the next election we will have it.
National policy and not only state will develop those region and set aside a huge space for competitive development for businesses like Landmark to be included in their plans to boost tourism in Nigeria.
Banks would be authorised by the federal government to loan them money and a national campaign would be launched to encourage Nigerians to go there with their families for weekend getaways on the cheap. This cheap activities can be encouraged and part funded in secret by the nation with tax cuts for a decade to build an habit for Nigerians. The British did it too. They didn’t always go to the beach. They didn’t even have swimming trunks. They created that culture and monitored it.
Then those Nigerian children going there in the future will grow up and they will bring their children there and it becomes a ritualistic society thing. Like we were taken to the Bar branch in Lagos. That is what gave birth to the need for Landmark. A good government will create opportunities in ifs.
Nigerians and others will get married there. You just have to lie that marriages held close to the ocean lasts longer and are bosses along with all that feel good BS. Nations do it all the time from the shadows. Controlling public opinion for their own good.
They will bring their friends from overseas to Nigeria to see it. It’s the best thing to do as a nation to bring in more money into our economy as a long term goal. Then the locals? They will have jobs.
Of cause it can never be achieved in one go. Landmark will be monitoring it I tell you. I would not be shocked if they even rushed to buy land there as land banking just in case so they don’t miss out. I believe in Nigeria.
It’s just a matter of time before those old goats start to die of age related natural causes one by one. They can’t live forever. If we prevent their children from getting into politics we can fix our country.

One sided analysis as usual. Akwa ibom is a good place to invest but investors should be weary of land laws in their area of operation. According to nigerias coastal Act, the fg owns 2km radius from tha sea and can decide to use it for development at any time. If you buy any land from omo onile, better consult your lawyer. Sensitizing a clear case wont help you on the long run
