I saw that. I was in the California SF Bay. I took pix. I was in the afternoon traffic. I was amazed no one around me saw. When I got home like 30 minutes later, it was all over the 'net and news. It was seen as far in as Utah and New Mex I think. There was also another I saw. The 1st one blew my mind. But apparently both had been pre-scheduled. One was Space-X and the other was a Trident missle.

As an eye witness that night, I still want to know why the exhaust trail itself was emitting light and not from the bright spot light either. I saw the cloud just glowing from within itself and that’s what I thought was so strange, not the “projectile” part but the trail behind it.

Because at that altitude, The plume is still reflecting sun light even though it is dark on the ground. This launch was a few minutes after dusk meaning the sun was still visible at say 90km high, but not visible from the ground. This is a rare event with rocket launches as the launch has to be done at the correct time and angle to make the exhaust plume visible. Without direct sunlight from space and the ground being dark, we can not normally see the exhaust plume.

I’ve lived 43miles West of Cape Canaveral for the past 46yrs and I have witnessed at least 100 Rocket & Shuttle Launches over the years and I’ve been as close as 4miles away when they launch. The the Night launches are spectacular, but you never see them go straight up. They often immediately roll and start their climb almost down to a 45degree angel it seems. The 1986 Shuttle explosion was unfortunately the most memorable. Also, when the shuttles would come back to land, the Sonic Boom would shake our whole house!

I saw it that night, I was at my mom's house visiting for a couple days cuz I was sick and I went to get something out of my car and when I turned back around to go towards the house I notice it right away because it was in the sky directly behind my mom's house towards the White tank mountains and I ran inside and told my mom and my kids to come outside and they were so excited that when we couldn't see it anymore because of the trees, we got in the car and we're hauling ass through my mom's neighborhood so we could get a better view where there weren't so many trees. So we parked on the side of the road in the neighborhood, not anywhere near main streets and stuff, it was pretty late at night so there weren't many people driving around. I tried to get some pictures and videos but it was too far and my phone at the time was crap. I LOVE this video right here because I wasn't able to see the little lights in the center swirling around because it was too far away. It is insane how crazy it looks up close like this 🔭☄️. Props to the person that recorded this👏 and whatever camera he was using, every person that wants to catch a UFO on film, they need to go out and buy this kind of camera so we can actually see the objects instead of crappy photos that look like they were taken from a rock. Seriously, we wouldn't need the government to declassify documents if we had decent cameras like this one. We'll be able to confirm for ourselves what these objects are in the sky. Very impressed and excited to say that I was there that night in Glendale Arizona and the energy and suspense was crazy because we've never seen anything like that before, so thank you very much for this video, it's AMAZING ‼️🤓👍

The first stage may also have up to two side boosters that can return to earth as well.

Hello, I just saw this exact same thing tonight over Anaheim, California around 7:30 pm. I was outside watering my front yard and had gone in the house but remembered I left something outside and as I went through the gate to get back out front I could immediately see it in the western sky. The one I saw was moving in slow motion and expanding like in your video but was rainbow like in color, not iridescent white as yours looked. It was low in the atmosphere, only hundreds of feet up in the sky and started slowly growing and expanding in size. Mine had the same white light leading but there was one on both sides for a bit then there was just the one leading light. Like yours, the leading white light in front wasn’t shining a light ahead like a helicopter or car would, the light was reflecting back inside of the expanding orb like structure. I didn’t have my iPhone with me but I stood there watching until it finally disappeared. There wasn’t any sound coming from it. In fact the sky was really quiet during but shortly thereafter there were numerous helicopters in the sky flying around immediately after it disappeared. I won’t ever forget seeing it.

Its very clearly a multistage rocket. Because the video was recorded at 6:30pm as the rocket got up the plume catches and reflects the sunset still visible higher up, you can also see how the plume gets wider and wider as the outside pressure drops and the exhaust gasses are able to expand more and more.
0:17 separation of the first stage from the rest of the rockets
0:47 first stage rotates to land with short RCS pulses, blasts of cold gass that push the rocket towards its desired orientation.
4:45 light seems to flash at the same tempo as a common airplane strobelight so...

I'm not sure why the title says it's Arizona when the commentator clearly states they're over Glendale, looking west. But you'd think a helicopter reporter would know that he's looking toward the Ventura County Naval Base at Point Mugu. Their test range covers much of the airspace west of Los Angeles.

I could be wrong but I think it's a rocket who's trail is lit by the light of the rockets engine thruster/after burner or whatever .
I think it's going in a straight line so it's lighting up the tail like a flashlight beam in a smoke filled room. Just a thought .But yeah I thought that was weird as well , that tail lit miles away.

This bright point in the rocket's trial is the first stage (just separated from the spacecraft).. stage 2 makes its way to the orbit while the 1st one is on the way back to the launch platform. Due to the lack of air pressure and air itself in the mesosphere we can see such nice performance on the night sky created by the exhaust gases.
