I'm 20 and in uni and a lot of the feelings TMM brought up here are really relatable, having the motivation to actually progress and not letting your self conscious voices take control of your life and having courage to move forward is so worthwhile. Sometimes people aren't there to push you, so when you hit rock bottom you'll realise you're the only person who can make your life what you want it to be

      @josetojoestar7533 Před 4 měsíci

      @@pypy9202 Hey, no worries.
It works differently for each one of us, since we all like different things and there's a lot of disparity in our drives.
I forced myself to go out, exercise and meet people and do crazy stuff, until I got along with a few of individuals that were an inspiration to me.
I used to be scared to take a wrong step in life.
All I can say is; keep a balance, be somewhat healthy, have a couple hours a day where you check jobs/careers of your interest, even if you don't find anything interesting, force yourself to do it, you will always get some experience or anything valuable even if you make a wrong choice, its always better to make a mistake than do nothing at all.
      You will be fine 😃

@pypy9202 this is coming from a man who felt like he lived a full life by the age of 28. I'm 30 now. I had men in their 50's tell me I have more life experience than most people have their whole lives. Super high high, super low lows, been rich and been homeless. In my experience I can point you to the words of David Goggins. "You already know what you need to do, just do it." It may sound cliche but it's the truth. Goggins said he hates when people go to his seminars because he knows they're procrastinating and not doing what they need to do and waste their time listening to him telling them the same thing over and over. You know what you need to do, just do it.

Was a good student in high school, got into mechanical engineering university and then I realised I don't really like this shit. I wanted to become a martial arts instructor but I was afraid of taking that road cause I thought I was too old to do that professionally. And I thought I should not dropout of the "good university". So after 9 years of procrastination, I got my diploma, finished military service and at the age of 28 it struck me. I still had to work my ass off to land a career in engineering. So I decided to work my ass off to do something I was too scared of attempting. After I made up my mind, every new year has been better than the last.

i couldn't help but tear up man....im currently in that state right now...22 years old , dunno what to do with my life ...i finished highschool with no problems, went to college but didn't finish it and worked for a partime job instead , that didn't last long tho coz covid raided the chat... i lost my job and I've been so stagnant that i got used to it ..i have no ambitions in life, just became totally reliant to my family , stuck inside my room gaming all day ... living a loser's life ...but when i watched this video i just couldn't stop crying , because i thought i was the only one who's going through this , this fear of facing responsibilities in life ... i feel so useless like i don't belong anywhere , like i should just disappear ..atleast that way my family would have less baggage to deal with..
but im really , really glad that i found this video cuz this really woke me up big time , like ...in my whole life i never really questioned myself to why im like this?...why im so antisocial ?..why am i so afraid ?.. why am i not doing something about it? .. why am i just stuck inside my room playing games all day?... there's so much questions that i asked to myself after i watched this video and took me an hour long to finish asking myself all that , and something really hit me .. it hit me so hard that i hated myself even more ... it is the fact that i did *nothing* ..i did nothing to better myself ...i did nothing and became the trash that i am now... that's what hit me so hard ..the answer was right there all along and i didn't even bother to look at it because i believed that the day will come where my life would turn and go full circle..but now i know that won't happen if just sit down and do nothing ....i learned that , making excuses to make myself feel better , has to stop.. from now on i will start running on the road that i abandoned ..the road that i barely even started.... and this time I will never make excuses..
thank you so much tmm, i would never have realized all this without hearing your story...

I train a lot, I work part time, I play a lot of Deus Ex and Tekken, I smoke pot and I'm not satisfied with my life(and my relationship, to be honest). I am getting ready to pass the exam to be able to get into university (fourth time in my life) and become an electronic engineer. I love to solder and reverse-engineer things. I have the same thing about "I'm not good enough" with some jobs and I'm getting better with it. My life is not complete crap, but it can become worse, if I'll not do anything. I will keep the gym and lifting heavy, but I have to do something about everything else. Thank you, man. I really appreciate your story. I haven't given up but I have really stayed behind and really wondered if there was anything I could do back in the day to improve my current status.

One thing for sure, now you have helped lots of people thru your content. All the work you did on Tekken series paid off, which also happens to help your brand on a platform, pre adpocalypse at the time too. You earn an extra cash via coaching on Tekken aswell. Hearing that you are much happier now and realizing mistakes is a huge plus! We all just gonna laugh at our mistakes when we look back to it; it's just useless to think what we could've done back then, we just have to go forward!

Had no idea this would hit THAT close home but it does. I actually finished highschool and went to two universities but didnt actually finish either of them, because I never believed I was doing anything I wanted for my life. I went to uni when I was 19 and now, at 26 I essentially wasted 7 years of my life for nothing. And I say WASTED instead of lost, because by saying lost implies it was out of your control. I definitely knew what I was doing. I am turning 27 in a couple months and the whole 2020 mood hit me like a truck. I am getting more and more aware of my age and the fact that my parents may die not long from now. I started working out and working towards a better future for myself. I think the key to true happiness is being able to support your own lifestyle, one that you truly love. My sympathies to anyone going through the situation. You will make it, but you gotta move. The most precious thing you have in your life is time. Don't waste it, lads. Peace.

A good video. I find myself in a somewhat similar situation to what you described.
I flunked out of final year in College (Gymnasium in danish) due to untreated mental illness and I became a non-functioning shutin living with my parents until I was 22-23.
I'm 26 now and living in my own apartment, and I recognize feeling useless. I've lost all my social contacts and I'm still not able to maintain a fulltime job.
It feels like I might as well have been in a coma for years, but finally I'm starting to get out of that slump.

Great story to hear MainMan.. what i've tried to learn is that we can't keep looking at the past, we can only act on the here and now.. The person you are today isn't the person you were yesterday. (something i struggle with myself)
Imagine meeting your future self (a year from now or even six months) and make little strides in trying to become that person (i.e. being good a Tekken Master lool, being fitter, knowing a language etc)
