They are indeed the first balanced-recoil firearm outside of russia AND the first balanced recoil gun that is in production for the civilian market! I read they are nto actually based on the AK-107 like I originally thought, which makes sense since the type of gas pistons this gun has is not ideal for dirt and freezing imo. Basically, while it looks like a weird Frankenstein thing, it is actually a very seriously well-developed firearm for sure, original MK-107 design did not feature the AR-style lower, but it does make perfect sense to use one, even if it does look like shit on it lol.

4:16 to be fair I have seen WELL tuned Rifle length gas system AR15s do the same thing.....but yeah FOR a AK that's impressive. It would be nice to see what the recoil on 7.62×39 is tho, since .223/5.56 is such a light recoiling round anyway, especially in a heavy Ak type rifle, some of that is the big ass comp. up front, and some is the wieght, no doubt that balanced recoil system is well ahead of a regular ak action as far as recoil management, but a side by side next to a competion tuned ar15 would be cool to see, which one would be lighter recoiling.
