I have the same setup but the 4 pins on the 3.5 HD plastic pc were too fat to fit into the holes of the 2.5 caddy. Holes were to small in the caddy. I had to modify it to work. Not so great.

Just what I was looking for. I bought a 9020 sff that came with a Seagate 500GB hdd. It looked like it had a test sticker that said Health 85.4% so I am thinking I should replace it with an SSD, and maybe I will add a second SSD or 2.5 inch hdd. I bought the 9020 on ebay for $69. It looks brand new condition, with i7 4790 CPU, 16 GB RAM, Windows 10 Pro. I will clone the Seagate to an SSD and use the second SSD or hdd as my backup drive installed in the machine.

The part I've got already installed in my Optiplex 9020 is F767D if anyone is looking for the 2.5" inner caddy. The R494D seems to be the equivalent part.

You can't install both into the same caddy so technically no but you can still have both in your system. There's also an adapter to turn your pcie 16 slot into 2 ssd slots but I wouldn't reccomend that as it's already hard enough finding a gpu that even fits in this case.

Sata power splitter... we can used a laptop hdd and a ssd at the same time

You shouldn't need a splitter. All the cables you need should be within your system already. One sata cable goes to your hdd or sdd then there's a spare for another of your choosing. And there's a third for the cd drive.
