    Perfect explanation. I was a bit stumped with the recommended 4g weight on the box, but will start at 3.5g

      Stumped? Forgive me if I’m getting this wrong but if you mean like turntable in the video that the counterweight numbering stops at 3.5 and that had you stumped you would just continue turning past there, ie back to zero would then be 4grams, then going to 1 would be 5 etc etc, hope that makes sense even though it’s 2 years late lol 😂

    Hi, just came across this video. I have a plx 500 and a MKII concorde club, tracking at 3g as is the anti skate. I have noticed I am getting sibilance with some vinyl . I have adjusted the VTA, but no matter what I try the sibilance still persists. The VTA is currently sitting at 0 with a MM or so difference either way, but I am not sure if that is the height I should be using. Everything else is perfect the TT is level and tracking is perfect, I even bought a new stylus just to be sure. It looks like your using the plx 1000 and you also state that the tracking force you use for a 3-4g cartridge is 3.5g but you don't mention what height the tone arm is parallel and where you measure from? Bottom of the tone arm or top?. Would you recommend I increase my tracking force to 3.5 and adjust the anti skate?
    Thanks.

    Hi great easy example of how to set up but my question is if you calibrating at 3.5 on the tone arm what do you put the anisate to? Because on my tech 1210 mark 2 It only goes up to 3? Could you help me please? … 🐝

    nice video! what about your anti skating do you have any tipps or tricks for that ?

    • @GetintheMix
      @GetintheMix  Před 3 lety +1

      Set the anti-skate to the same force as the tracking force. Then set the arm down in the middle of the record, and sight straight on at the cartridge, so you can see the cantilever. If the bottom of the cantilever points toward the center of the record, the anti-skate force is too high and you can then adjust accordingly :)
      However can sometimes find that anti-skate does not work that well on older turntables!

    • @arp_909
      @arp_909 Před 3 lety +2

      I’ve also used a one sided record to set this up - if you put the needle on the side that doesn’t have any grooves you can adjust the anti skate until it doesn’t drift inside or outside and just stays set

    • @propernorth
      @propernorth Před 3 lety

      @@GetintheMix can you explain this in layman's terms? im not following "can you see the cantilever"
