In your scratch course, do you evaluate student videos?
This is the best tutorial imo on scratching using the fader. I'm at work, so I don't have a turntable infront of me. I'm literally practicing the movements, so when I go home, I'll have the technique drilled in my head.
🙏🏾🙏🏾 appreciate that man! I literally do the same thing to this day! It’s all in the muscle memory.
@@DJLiftOFF you and DJ Angelo are great teachers
Really appreciate that!! It’s crazy you say that because I literally learned to scratch from DJ Angelo. Awesome teacher!
@@DJLiftOFF I wish I found his videos in 2008. Back then, good tutorials on ANY subject were hard to find, then you just give up. Oh well, it's never too late.
@@DiscoMatty79 Same man. I was late to his videos too. And it's crazy that they're 10 years old (or older I think) and can still be used today.
But yessir. Never too late!
Man I’ve been DJing for 20+years and one thing I’ve always wanted to learn but never took the time to was learn how to scratch. You break it down and make it easy to understand the platter/fader movement. Definitely gonna start my daily practicing
Thank you 🙏🏾 appreciate the comment and glad I could help 💯
Hey and now do you scratch ?
I've watched so many videos and yours is the first that made sense and was very clear on what to practice first to get better. Also helped a lot because I went out and got the rane 12 and 72 set up like you have because I wanted the vinyl and controller feel so thank you
You’re every welcome man. Glad I could help! 🙏🏾
And yeah, the Rane set up is undefeated in my opinion. Love it!
@@DJLiftOFF Exactly what i was gonna say - Real DJ who talks Real Straight forward talk so you can actully learn - Thx Liftoff , you and Qbert are the only people i can watch ..... Just skills and no BS ... ;)
This was an amazing tutorial. Thank you
Seriously agreed!!!
I appreciate how you described the Curve dial and Left to Right / Right to Left examples
No doubt! Definitely one of the most important things to understand before you begin scratching!
Yeah i have never seen anyone else point that out!! Great thzt he included that detail and didnt over look it. Im uding the xdj rx2 and it helped with the curve
To be a great teacher, you have to be able to understand it inside out, be able to perform it fast and slow, bit by bit and be able to convey the information to the individual in a method so they can understand and perform it. The greatest reward as a teacher is when you observed the individual is performing it.
💯💯💯
Great content, I'm an intermediate Dj and recently purchased the Pioneer DDJ REV 7. Coming from an American audio Encore 2000. It's a world of difference and alot to learn on that board but i see your mixer in the videos is basically whats built in the Rev. Looking forward to learning alot from these tutorials your giving. Thanks
Been wanting to start scratching for a while, most tutorials I've viewed haven't explained things in a way that clicked with me. Your vids are simple and straight to the point. Subscribed and will be watching for more vids. Many thanks!
Man, comments like this really help me keep pushing forward. Really glad you're finding the videos helpful. Thank you for watching! You're more than welcome. Many more vids to come!
Great stuff bro. I’m elevating my scratch game and this tutorial helps a lot. I am using the full Rane setup. I love to use different scratches as transitions and also to enhance the listening pleasure of the audience.
Appreciate it bro! Glad I could help.
Dope. I still haven't had a chance to use the Rane Mixer, but I want to check it out for sure. And yup, same.
The thumb and middle finger method for the fader 🔥🔥🔥 opened up a lot for me
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 it’s the simple things sometimes. Glad that helped!
Nice work DJ! You have them teaching skills !!
Much appreciated man. Truly 🙏🏾🙏🏾
This video truly help me out . I got alot ok f practicing to do. Thank so much.
Glad I could help out 🙏🏾 - I’m still practicing to this day! You’re welcome!

Bro you are a lifesaver my guy like I’m really good Dj Nandi and I don’t know how to do this you just simplify this to the point to where I finally understand it thank you so much you’re a blessing peace and blessings to you
Thank you for watching bro! Truly appreciate the support!! And I’m glad it’s helping 🙏🏾
This helps more than other videos from other people. Thank you!
Love to hear it. Thanks for watching 🙏🏾
Yessir! THIS is the Tutorial I needed to give me the confidence to start scratching. I won’t Lie, most people don’t want to pay for a Scratching DJ/Mixologist, so as a Mobile DJ, I would just blend beats and call it a Night. But the Other Side of me just wants to be able to do it whenever I feel like doing it.
🙏🏾🙏🏾 glad you found it!
I used to feel the same way man! I remember someone told me I wasn’t a “real dj” because i couldn’t scratch but that’s bs to me. Everyone doesn’t “have” to scratch, but that definitely pushed me to learn at the time, then I fell in love with the progression.
Awesome video. New to channel. Already love it!!!
Well done mate.great learning advice and show very well✌🏻👍🏻

Yo...you are the best at explaining exactly what you're doing with your hands and this is so helpful...
🙏🏾🙏🏾 I learned the fundamentals from CZcams, and but never had the true, “step-by-step” experience. So hearing that keeps me going. Thank you!

Yet another great video of exactly what I needed thank u so much liftoff for continuing to take the time. I kinda stayed away from chirp patterns cuz mine sounded so choppy always a sound going in but missed the sound coming back n vice versa this will def help me out n using the faders 🎚 to mix never thought about that I will practicing this video until I’m 💯 🙏🏽
Appreciate you Joi!! Glad this helped! The chirp is definitely one of those techniques that sometimes takes a while to get down, once you got it, you’ll use it SO much!

You sir are very good at instructions and breaking down each individual step in what your lesson is. You should go back a few steps and do lessons in song structure, counting, BEAT MATCHING, to go in to the steps of scratching!!! Your gift of breaking down step slowly and up close is GREAT
Thank you sir!!
Transition series coming up soon 💯 starting from square one with exactly what you’ve mentioned. Beats, bars, phrases, counting, etc!
