Psyching myself up to do the same. Seems to be a few schools of thought on where to drill the large hole… this one has some cutting of the inner bracing. Another on CZcams has the large hole centred on the triangular section so bracing isn’t cut, but the tach sits a little further back with that method.

Thanks Luis! I just bought my 1969 Firebird and the seller said for some reason the hood tach stopped working when they rebuilt the motor, but he definitely remembers it working. Any thoughts on why it would just stop? Thank you, Ed

I have a video that I did first before. This one explaining that the hood tack was given to me as a gift. I don't have an idea which brand it is. I suggest if you want to cut out the f hole from your hood you should Watch the first video

@firstgenerationgarage2803 my main concern is a buddy of mine is selling a year one hood tach. But I'm not sure if it's the one where the needle is backlit. Another buddy bought a opgi and a year one and one of them didn't have a backlit needle and it was annoying as hell.
