Even if protestors were causing damage (which only a small number did because look at how many there were versus how many stores got burned), there's no equivalence between accidental deaths from acts of protest and people getting killed while trying to hunt down and execute democratically elected officials doing their jobs. Because, never forget, that's what the capitol rioters wanted to do.

What’s the worst part is that he did all of this and is still doing it, doubles down daily, and half our nation still voted for him for a second term.... and this clown is still scrapping about abusing all he can in order to stay in office in January 2021.
Just because you sound sad about things being even: 66.7% of eligible voters voted. Out of that 47% went trump. That means more like 1/3 of the country supported trump. Given how rabid trump's supporters are I'd assume the bulk of that remaining 33% that didn't end up voting were opposed to the orange dustmop.
Amusingly both candidates received more actual votes than any candidate in history (Biden got more). And as sad as it is; that 66.7% is a higher turnout percentage than we've had since 1900. So it's not all bad.
Plus bills to make electoral college votes be awarded proportionally in relation to the vote count of the state are popping up all over the nation (nebraska and maine already do it).
So for example: Lets say Georgia goes 70% republican. Rather than getting all the Georgia electors, R's would get 70%, and D's would come away with 30%.
Currently our system allows things like nixon winning 51% of the pop vote and 90% of the electoral college. This change would go a long way to improving our system and it's achievable on a state-by-state basis. Make sure to volunteer a few hours to support your local version. (or get some signatures and put it on a ballot yourself)
That third of voters not voting are likely refraining because it feels like the candidates stand for nothing and act like petulant children. Our simple majority voting system encourages this, it makes things into a zero sum game where harming opponents is tantamount to helping yourself. To solve all that we need Ranked Choice Voting. (They explain RCV well here: www.fairvote.org/) RCV has you rank multiple choices. They tally 1st picks and if no candidate has 51% then they eliminate the candidate with the fewest first picks. The people who voted for the eliminated candidate then get their second pick counted. This elimination and redistribution continues till someone has a majority. Politicians would genuinely have to appeal to a broad swath of the public in order to get elected, not just some rabid tribal base. But in order to stay in the running somebody has to make the candidate their first pick, so it's not about being the lesser evil, it's about being good.
Not only would RCV allow us to vote for new parties that are more reflective of our genuine ideals, but it would change the culture of our legislature. Rather than rewarding blind partisanship it would force collaboration between multiple parties in order to get a majority, making our government a place where actual debate and discussion happens. So long story short: there are hopeful steps to be taken.

* 1/3 of US citizens with voting rights didn't vote

* 1/3 of US citizens with voting rights voted for Biden (a bit more actually)

If he were found guilty of state crimes (especially for election interference), then a post-presidency impeachment conviction would actually be possible for a Democratic Senate.
