Poor kid, after being traumatized from a near-death situation his dad complained that he wasn’t good enough and he was fighting with his wife for not being a good example as an empress and for “having an affair with the guard” when the guard was only doing his job, which was to risk his life and protect her!!!!

I like how they showed Ruyi gradually getting tired of being the Empress hahahaha you could literally see how tired and couldn't care less she is about the Harem causing trouble, making scheme it's like yeah yeah let them be.

The best thing about this series is they often shot nonverbal cues / gestures of the actors in order to show the emotions felt by each character. So smart and thoughtful.

Instead of becoming grateful that your wife and son are both safe. Instead of cherishing them for their new life. Here you are having ill-thinking to your wife. You did nothing to save them, only Ling Yunche cared for them during life and death situation, and even risk his own life. . Damn! Hayyyyssstt!

Is this emperor has paranoid schizophrenia? He always suspicious with his innocent children, suspecting his loyal guard who saved his empress just because accidentally touching (more like dellucion), suspecting everyone who loyal to him but too merciful to people who have great sins 🙄
Is his judgemental mind okay? 👀

This Emperor biological mom was a palace maid like Wei Yan Wan. He was easily influenced by Wei Yan Wan likely bird of the same feathers. They were both lowly birth, insecure, hence hungry for power. He was appointed Emperor because of his adopted mother in power after the death of his father.

karpathian_slaw The dowager isn’t actually his biological mother. His mother was of low birth and wasn’t recorded as a result. His mother, then a pin (imperial concubine) adopted him.

@@angelav2091 I mean even if that was the case, he was an imperial heir that was favoured by his father, which is why he was appointed successor in the first place. Tbh you're right, his continued pampering of yanwan doesn't make any sense considering his suspicious personality. I mean at least with the other villains it made sense why he kept turning a blind eye as they all had strong political backers outside the harem. I guess its just a case of let's preserve this villain as long as possible even though it makes no sense

The death of the legitimate son wouldn't have been considered grounds for dethronement, and would've gotten all kinds of backlash in court. By Confucian law he could've divorced her for not giving him children after 7 years, but that's not the same as the child dying.

Perhaps English is not your first language? If that is so, there are many fine bilingual translator/editors who can help you not to look foolish by writing these idiotic titles.
