Dawg days of the summer. Separates men from the boys!! Let’s go
It must be Overwhelming during the Busy Summer months. Thank GOD your Customers are Blessed to have a Very Qualified HVAC Tech. 👍🙏
when the compressor pipes slipped in that easy I thought I was going to.... and no leaks too!!!! great video....
Thanks 👍
That low pressure switch looked like it copped a thrashing from that heat 😮
That satisfying separation..
Hey Curtis from the video after your vacuum was completed u released the charge into the system. I would close the check valve on the vacuum pump first so the oil won’t go back into your hoses. Hopefully your check valve isn’t going bad on that vacuum pump. Im definitely considering getting that same brand
looks like that compressor was stored upside down at one point and the scroll filled with oil.
Nice job Curtis.
Thanks!
Great job, nice brazing. Those pressures looked good. Stay cool when you can, I know it's a hot one right now. That's why you are busy, and like you said, get it while the getting is good. I know you will need a wheel barrel to take your money to the bank. $$$$
How do you dispose of unusable refrigerant? Where does it go and how is it destroyed? One of life's mysteries! Are some of the refrigerants interchangeable?
Turn it in at supply house, for a fee
I had one of them Milwaukee pumps. They’re junk either go to straight electric one or maybe try a different Milwaukee one I went through three of them under warranty and I just said hell with it. I sold her to a buddy of mine and he can deal with the war Plug-in from Harbor freight it works absolutely flawless. You’re not supposed to get oil in your hoses.
The sound of the vacuum pump you got there reminds me of Jimmy Hendricks throwing down on the guitar 😎
Love your videos!!!
Go Curtis. You’re the man !
Great job,Curtis!
Thanks!
Well done! I ran my own too. Had a Sprinter. Thinking about jumping back in. New location now. Glad to get out of SFL.
Georgia heat is getting to you friend, be careful now take it easy. Stay hydrated, get plenty of rest and just do the best you can.
It was bad today. It really was
Another good job Curtis 👍 Au
Thanks again!
I have the same issue Curtis with my vacuum- somehow the oil ends up in my hoses- been using the field piece lately- but it happens with my navtec too
our compressor died today, local guy is coming out in the morning....theres oil everywhere...made a lot of noise before dying...but its 20 years old so.........
Thats awesome but r.i.p to the craftman ship that was offered -2005 anything after 2005 seems like it was ment to be replaced in months
Say Curtis, do you do an acid test when there’s a burnt out ?
When I was a millwright test kits were a part of our gear.
Hydrofluoric & Hydrochloric acids are nasty decomposition products of a burn out 😮
Yes
I had a yellow jacket pump that did that their so.ething faulty with the pump
Worry bou o rings anytime. Just vaccum and micron gauge...

What?
Ehhhh?
Why didn't you flow nitrogen while brazing?
I did
Remove pressure switches and get you a small price of wood for lines when unsoldering them and leave compressor bolts in....
Is Lt. Reiley's dog house air conditioned, or does he domicile in your house while you are at work?
Oh he has the run of the house
I am concerned about the oil that came out of the compressor. How do you know if you have enough, or too much oil in the system when you replace the compressor?
Oil in compressor mean that this is a used compressor it was the return
@@moshemoshe-yy8hj The oil was coming out of the brand new replacement. Curtis said it has been upright the whole time he's had it and he couldn't understand why the oil was coming out. All compressors contain oil.
I bet that some idiot had stored that compressor upside down for an extended period of time before Curtis got it. That oil does not go back into the lower chamber all that fast and I bet the system is now low on oil.
@@tombonini7393 Sometimes it's hard to tell on video how much oil the compressor actually lost. Curtis didn't seem concerned by it. I assume the new compressor has a warranty.
@@patrickinottawa27 I agree but you could see that it lost quite a bit. I would say that the entire upper chamber was pretty much full of oil and it simply doesn't drain back. I didn't say that it was out of oil, only that it would be low and the warranty doesn't usually cover issues due to oil starvation.
Saya selalu menonton video anda. Tapi setiap kali subtitles video anda tidak di aktifkan, saya langsung pergi dari layar gadget saya. Saya menggunakan google translate untuk menulis setiap komentar
I can’t always turn them on
all that oil that came out from the top, was it sitting upside down previously, never drained back? Now it must be too low a level? Replace again under warranty?
I will cut the compressor pipe close to the compressor take it out then remove the rest of the pieces
How do you cut it ?
@@philiphusain3923 pipe cutter grinder etc.
Pipe cutter changes the length more, and I’m afraid of the particles/ grinder debris inside of line with a grinder.
Cut off wheel on a grinder pipe cutters doesn't leave any debris
Oil was from line set....old compressor and running low suction..
That was the new compressor he pulled the plugs from though
As watching again...I agree it is some from compressor...I've had this before when I solder the suction first and also the line set...
I'm not trying to critize but, make it easier....get you couple of long 3/8extensions and impact drill adapter and you want even have to bend down for bolt removals....
None of the companies around our way take the refrigerant back anymore without charging
Same here
same here, usually $2 to $3lb and $40 or $45 for tank exchange
Like i told you before with that capacitor that was fubar a few videos back don’t trust the parts place check your parts before you leave the warehouse it only takes a few minutes i would say think about it! Vacuum pump need a new seal internally needs rebuild I’m telling you those pumps are trash milwaukee is not an HVAC type of company only fielpiece Navac etc specialized in the area but you go on filling ur oil
Good job
But not good practices. You didn't remove low pressure that was close to brazing point .
You didn't flush the whole system prior to fix the compressor.
We in gulf do better with less equipment and in extreme temperatures !
Why wouldn't you change the O-rings more often so you don't have leaks this makes for a more professional service call, maintaining your equipment is important., I was a field service tech/engineer for 30 years. You seem more distracted lately because of your videos or you just have to much work to handle.
Very busy lately. Like today I had this call, and 6 more. Sometimes maintenance has to take a back seat.
@@HVACGUY you need to do a video on how much work you do in a days time and how you keep up with all the quickbooks, invoicing, scheduling, runs to the parts house, I probably only do half the calls you do and the paperwork is an enormous time consuming task I've yet to simplify
@@HVACGUY Don't do that. I know it's difficult when you have jobs pending, but take the time to take care of your equipment. Different industry, but I used to work for a guy that wouldn't stop to fix anything until it totally blew up.....instead of taking a planned day for maintenance and repairs, we spent far more time repeatedly applying band aids, and would then be completely dead in the water for days when whatever it was finally died, and we had to wait on parts......or an engine to be rebuilt.
