Hi guys! Did you like this approach video featuring Santorini (LSGR) airport? Which approach would you like to see next? Anything you would like to see added to these videos (besides ATC conversations 😉) ? Wishing you a great Sunday! All the best, Michelle 😘 - Sponsored by NordVPN: www.nordvpn.com/dpg
Thank you very much
Zakynthos Airport! Thanks for this video!
Excellent, Santorini the best place ever !
Well, my CUN Cancún Intl. (MMUN) would be an excellent idea !😉
*Santorini is LGSR :)
I rely on your choices, you would know much better and never disappoint with the beauty our planet has to offer from your vantage point, thank you
As a retired pilot, I never got to fly in this part of the world. I really loved this video. I like that you included some of your checklist. I also like that you included the aural from the aircraft and sections of the map. What I most loved was the tourist information of the islands.
Ha noob
@@navcx Lmfao what, blud you literally play PTFS 💀
My son & his cousins spent time in Santorini as a highschool graduation gift in Oct 2019
They absolutely had a blast
Thank you for flying all these tourists around the world to this beautiful country- Greece 🙏
It's amazing standing atop of Thera at the other end of the runway & watching the approaching planes fly in below you. It's a perspective you won't see anywhere else.
Michelle, thank you for taking the time to add all the additional information about what is happening with the flight as you progressed to the landing. Truly a lovely day, destination and landing. 👍
You are welcome! Have a nice day!
@@DutchPilotGirl You're too beautiful to fly a Boeing . These planes are designed by clowns, who are in turn supervised by monkeys . For Lord sake , Michelle , resign before you crash 🙏 🙏🙏
Thank you very much for this video. I am a retired air traffic controller in Wyoming, USA. Although I have a private pilots license I haven’t flown in 18 years so now I am relegated to X-plane flight simulator. Your notes help me with my B737 procedures and I love your points of interest. Keep them coming.
This was the first video of yours that I watched. Was hooked by it being Santorini. I really like your format. The status items coming up while not interfering with the flying were very well done. Beautiful scenery and, by the way, nice job flying!
Love how you put information in to your videos, I'm not a pilot myself, but I am an aviation enthusiast and seeing a bit of prosedures and checklists etc. is very nice. I think you are the first I see that puts it in writing on the screen like that, very educational. Of course I subscribed to your channel .
Superb landing and spectacular views of approach; chart orientation and point of interest tags very helpful! Would love to see other Mediterranean Island landings as most of my time in that part of the world flying submarines... and don't get as good of a visual perspective! Thank you so much!
Outstanding!! THANK YOU for giving me the opportunity to ride along. Love the view! Love the perspective!!
I love seeing professionals at work. No hype, no stress, no histrionics. Do the job with pin point precision. Very gratifying to watch.
This is excellent. I'm just a land-lubber, yet I've flown commercially many times. If I'm in a window seat I always watch the take-offs and landings. To me these operations define the skill of piloting. And the technology of physics, frankly. Then I relax and wait for the drink-tray. You pilots are the BEST.
If You wanna learn and enjoy these magnificent views, just land here! Gee these cockpit videos are next level! It is very rare to find such with all the information in it. Hats off to your effort, put in the making!🤗👏 Have a nice weekend! ❤
Thank you Sonu! Appreciate your kind words!
@@DutchPilotGirl Here`s a good one for you.... it`s 3 years after losing 85% of humans from a fast acting disease thus very little resources left aka plane mechanic's/pilots and such like thus forcing technology to work... Question would you fly a 4 engine aircraft that has 2 wingless raptor jets fitted between the mounts of the original engines that are missing), flight controls of the 4 engine aircraft and Raptors have been made talk too each other.... again technology forced to work... (maybe a 3 aircraft fitted in place of the rear tail section giving 5 - 6 engines and twin tails....)
Just another amazingly beautiful video from our favorite pilot ever. Michelle, you continue to bring joy and a smile to my wife and I here in the Philippines. Many times, because of a lot of pandemic restrictions, the ONLY chance we have to travel, is with you! Once again, you made our day happier! Thanks and great job again
I'm happy to know that there are people who watches her videos that are also from here in the Philippines.
@@christineagcopra8330 Living in Baguio and I love Michelle's channel
I absolutely LOVE all the aviation info in the videos! Seeing the Aeronautical Charts and aircraft trim and settings is great for us former pilots and aviation nerds. Thank you! It's nice seeing the extra "tourist" info as well, like popular beaches and less traveled islands.
Wow, is that you Celinia in the picture ?
@@catchaser52 lol, I only wish...
Faultless approach in one of the most demanding (especially when it's windy) but also beautiful approaches in the world! Love the animations with the information at certain parts of the video, especially the information about the airport/locality and the aircraft configuration. Great flying Michelle, would love to see more videos like these!
Why is it one of the 'most demanding' approaches in the world? But great video!
@@winfriedwilcke1705 I think it comes from "especially when windy" :-)
it was literally atleast 15 feet early 🤓
All the flight information can be programmed into the computer and the autopilot can fly the aircraft from takeoff to landing. No big deal as to who is flying the plane. It always comes down to automation. 🤠🥸
@@jamesburns2232 It was a visual approach, so it was flown manually.
Greek islands are always a winner! I remember the visual approach to the old Rhodos airfield Aerolimenas during bad weather on board an Olympic Air 727! 👌
True! I absolutely love them!
Nothing could beat an Olympic flight, all the passengers were either laughing or in shock when those aircraft landed. Next best thrill in the islands is a ferry trip in a storm. I have a place on Kythnos.
@@daklakdigital3691 that is very true friend ! Olympic Airlines ware legend! We had both laughing and shock experience in one of their flights! But their pilots were top rated .
727 was one of the greatest, it had nearly double the thrust needed
I remember that I was in Santorini this summer and stayed in a hotel right next to the airstrip. It was so cool to watch the planes take off and land when you were going to bed, hanging out by the pool, or eating. Surprisingly, you could hardly hear the airplanes at night even though you were so close. All the towns on Santorini were great! Cool video btw :)
I really enjoyed this. I've been watching Mentour Pilot with his detailed explanations of what goes on in the cockpit and this really brought it to life
so cool! glad I finally found you. I did a solo once but got scared being up by myself. I don't understand enough about everything to fly safely. But my husband is a private pilot so I've seen this view from a small plane. I love to watch the big ones. I'm in the flight path for my small city airport but wish there was more air traffic - I know no one else does.
Thank you so much!
Nice job on that smooth landing … beautiful island … GORGEOUS PILOT
Hi Michelle, Another amazing video! The Greek islands are on my bucket list. Hope you enjoyed a little beach time on your layover.
This Private Pilot in the U.S. loves the way you caption and label your videos. We were on Santorini two weeks ago, staying in Kamari. Our resort was just over a mile from the approach end of RW33 and we enjoyed watching the approaches overhead.
I thoroughly enjoy watching flight/cockpit videos from time to time, but as others have said, I just LOVE the way you produce yours. Very nicely done.
Your videos are great. A real insight into the pilot's seat. I'd love to see an approach to Faro from the cockpit having flown there many times, and going again later this year.
I came across your videos yesterday i absolutely love them ❤️ I am such a nervous flyer but find that your videos help a lot. I also love the videos you’ve done with captain joe too 🥰 you pilots are amazing and very skilled, thankyou so much you now have a new subscriber. God bless you ❤️
Stunning views !!
Thankyou so much Michelle, the views from the cockpit absolutely awsome , the video also gave us an insight into your job a lot more !!
Beautiful photos at the start of the video!!
Till the next video, take care safe flying!!!
Your videos are amazing! Love the digital tags of what's going on. Absolutely top notch!!!!
I’ve been to Santorini and it is a lovely island. Loved all the pop up tags with interesting information about the surrounding islands and the technical bits, everything so detailed and the flight charts too. What a fab video and have I pressed that subscribe button! 😁 Thank you Dutch Pilot Girl.
+1
I also.. but then only by ferry, airfield was a military one... long time ago Q.. when fid they allowed civilian air in Thera? early -90's ?
@@jolsson5116Howdy, did you try landing on the italuan mil. airbase near Catania when the Etna is coughing huge portions of smoke and in the last 5 minutes it starts to rain? 😮
BTW, the landing strip at this airbase loojscas short as on a navycarrier, only the italians don't have catchinghooks, the italian pilots got to perform a full brakes stop directly after touchdown otherwise they take a bath in the mediterrenean sea together with their jet...
And don't dare to touchdown later than the beginning of the landingstrip or the brakes alone won't be sufficient even when you put your turbines on full reverse march, it is really ultrashort and behind the fence is " la spiaggia " and soon after the sea... 😅 There are rumors telling that the Commodore di Catania said something like > 😂
Wow! Incredible views! The notes were nice too so we can understand what is happening. Enjoyed watching!
Thanks Mike!
Brill video love the way you put all the info on the screen Thanks David Bond
This is superb! I loved the experience of landing in your care, and very much appreciated the system feedback and your advice about the towns and islands. Glorious!
Great flying DutchPilotGirl (from an Ex-AirForceGuy). A+ on the landing. The MOST beautiful country in the world is Greece. The writer John Steinbeck said the very same thing. I lived there for over 7 years as a kid and never got to speak the language because the Greeks, some of the most wonderful people you'll ever meet, wanted to practice their English on me. Should be on everyone's bucket list to visit at least once. This a poem I wrote about its storied history.
The Flowers of Levant
Where whitewater passes around pillars tall
The moon beckons the sun for shadows to fall.
Flowers on the shore listen with grave intent
To echoes of Sappho on love’s last lament.
Where breezes bare witness to faded glories,
Ancient men stood incanting their stories.
Their enchorial struggles with demonic gods
Were sung to the heavens where no man trods.
Where grass covers over their forgotten bones,
The wind gives remembrance in muted tones.
Their words from the past in the present do haunt
The perennial listeners- the Flowers of Levant.
Did you visit Area-51 ?
@@trevorgwelch7412 Came close. I got permission to circumnavigate around it just because I was curious. Cost about $500 in extra fuel. (Thank you Mr./Mrs Taxpayer.) Didn't see a damn thing in the air or on the ground. (Sorry, my bad, Mr./Mrs. Taxpayer.)
How come you lived here that long? Was your father stationed here or something? Thank you for your very kind words on our people and country.
@@mscccdsp My father worked for Esso (now Mobile/Exxon). He was a chemical engineer. We lived in Thessaloniki. I went to an international school called Pinewood, close to Panorma with nature all around us. The things I miss most are the people, the countryside and the food. I went on to college from there, joined the Air Force, earned my wings, and fly all over the world except for the Pacific theatre.

Must admit i enjoyed the video, it just popped up randomly so i decided to watch, me personally found flying really scary so haven't been in a plane since 1995 i can't believe how calm and relaxed how you all seem in the cockpit
Also a nervous flyer, but I find these videos fascinating and reassuring.
It's a shame that CZcams pepoer efen the shortest vids with ads and try to bundle this work with great aircraft disasters in various ways. Time to get the ad blocker going at least.
Dankeschön für den Einblick ins Cockpit und allzeit einen guten Flug
Love the little side notes. Gives an insight into the things you have to familierise yourself with.
That approach looks fairly easy but it's absolutely stunningly beautiful! I'll have to try it on MS Flight Simulator and see if my landing is as slick as Greece like yours! Great video, thanks for sharing!
Hi. I just love your videos, they are clearly the best of any airline pilot Vlog, 👍 thanks to details like the aeronautical charts, the texts highlighting interesting locations ... also the fact that you refrain from adding cheesy music, letting the viewer experience the actual cockpit sounds instead .. it makes so easy for oneself to immerse on the video, with a big screen it really feels like one is there on the cockpit just beside you. 👍 Also the fact that you are really pretty doesn't hurt either 🥰 ... thanks a lot, already a subscriber but I did click the like button. Cheers from Chile.
Great video, really enjoy cockpit views with captions. Nice landing to.👍👍
No words! It's not only a good job but it's picturesque in many aspects! Keep going! You've made my day! Gracie mille!
Living on Tenerife as I do, it always feels like comimg home when I fly in on the approach to Tenerife South, passing the islands of La Palma and La Gomewra, with Mount Teide on the oppositer side. Maybe you could show that one day. Great videos by the way.
La palma is a stunning waypoint. Saw it on my way to Gran Canaria. Beautiful
Love Greece 🇬🇷! Great landing!
I was in Santorini in September of 2019. Came in on the ferry from Mykonos. Flew out on Aegean to Thessaloniki. That plane was also packed. What a trip!
Just viewed your video and it is excellent! My wife and I were riveted, during the descent. What put the icing on the cake was that we departed from JTR when we left Santorini. The flight out was good, but your version of approaching was quite a treat.
I love your videos. The presentation is crisp and precise and modern, and it's always a million dollar view. Well done!
On Santorini, I bet you need a permit to paint a structure any color other than white. And I bet it would have to be a pastel shade. What an amazing place. It's crazy to think it was once all one, huge island (possibly Atlantis of lore).
Just found your channel - absolute butter landing there Ma'am! I love the Greek Islands, especially the south and eastern Aegean (those beautiful visual approaches into the likes of Rhodes, Chania, Heraklion and of course Thera / Santorini ). Fantastic video Michelle and wonderful flying
butter is a bit of an overstatement on this one lels
I've watched this video a dozen times and every time you manage to land safely. Well done! ;)
Amazing. I love the descriptive overlays.
Love the little bits and pieces of travel information shared! I would love to visit this place sometime. Great editing and great content, and an enjoyable video to watch!! Part travel channel and part aviation channel!! Thank you DutchPilotGirl!!
Perfect landing and your videos are of the highest quality and production value. Thank you so much for the time and passion invested in your work.
BEAUTIFUL landing! Ever so smooth!
I’m a Delta Air Lines purser (Ret2009) I used to land in the flight deck prior to the 9/11 terrorist attack. That was the highlight of my flights to Europe, Asia, Mexico and South America. I miss flying & your video brought back memories. You’re an excellent pilot‼️
Dankuvelle (thank you)✈️
The photos of DPG overlooking the caldera are breathtaking. Because of a strong crosswind we had to go around and landed on the second attempt. It felt like the pilot had to almost push the aircraft down but that was just my subjective impression.
GreT
1st time to your channel: Enjoyed the landing, mostly the last minute of the video or so when land features take meaningful shape and landing is imminent. The previous part was a little long, despite the factoid flags.. It would be nice to see the taxiing part till reaching the airport, even if it was accelerated a bit to get through the endless taxiing. Thanks!
Love the little pop-ups showing what you're doing makes it very interesting 👍
I was there last month while on Greek Island cruise and tour. What a beautiful place. Very unique place indeed.
I enjoy watching you work. You make everything look so effortless, which is a tribute as to how accomplished you are as a pilot. Please keep the great videos coming!?!?
Wow! I love Santorini. I went there for my honeymoon. I highly recommend it for anybody who might have the opportunity to go. It was a once in a lifetime trip.
My wife and I ended up taking a ferry there from Naxos, so we missed the whole air travel part of it.
My wife and I just got back from our honeymoon Greece, we stayed in Santorini and then took a ferry to Paros. Both were amazing in their own way. In Paros we found amazing beaches and spent most of our time in authentic villages untouched by tourism.
Loved the beautiful pictures of Santorini! 😘
Fabulous! I had never heard of this channel before, but I just subscribed. I’m lucky to have been to Santorini twice before by ferry to spend a number of days on the island, but next time I want to fly there! I loved all the explanatory written comments to enhance our appreciation of the technology and the pilots that understand all this stuff and devote their careers to constant training to help us all fly safer than ever before. THANK YOU!
Wow the island scenery and the Mediterranean Sea look amazing in this video. 2 things about this video:
1. I didn't know Santorini had an airport capable of handling big jets
2. I have no idea how the other pilots in the cockpit are able to concentrate with you there! You are gorgeous!!
Oh and new subscriber! Hi from Texas

I've been discovering aviation thoroughly for some time... I discovered this channel and I love the content! Keep it up, I'm already a subscriber :D!
There is some quality video editing right here! 10/10 (PS: great landing)
it's amazing how fast you're actually flying when it looks so slow
Absolutely breathtaking. Fantastic piloting too, well done 👏
Thanks for the ride Michelle! Happy landings.
Every video a gem and so informative....thank you so much for you work!
When we went to Santorini, the pilot had to abandon the first approach due to the strong cross-winds but managed to do a great job on the second. In retrospect I guess I can say it was exciting..... It is definitely a deceptively tough landing strip!
Your landings always are amazing! I'm Greek ana fan of your piloting. Have you ever travelled to Lesvos? I could even wait for you at the airport, live. :) 😀
Just found your channel. Going to have to go thru more videos! Thanks! I haven't flown anywhere in 15 years to the month. I miss this feeling.
1st time viewer. That was so cool! Thanks for sharing.
Interesting that the airport is pixelated on Google Earth. I wonder what's being hidden. Thank You for another most entertaining and educational video.
maybe it's at 9:31 ?
Almost every airport in Greece is both for civilian and military use. Being this a matter of national security, Greece needs maps providers to blur them entirely. Not every nation decides to do so, but Greece has seen some "weird things" in the recent past so they need to protect themselves in every way.
@@Ghost--Riley I agree.
Tourists have to be careful because national security is a very serious matter in Greece.
14 l plane spotters were arrested and found guilty of spying in 2002 in Greece, later they were released but ....
I'd love to visit Santorini. I've always felt like I had a life there 2500 yrs ago. I don't know why but it's always drawn me in. It's like I can see the stone streets like I've been there all my life. I can't explain it
Mate . Get a grip
A friend of mine felt the same way about Crete. The first time she went she kissed the ground after getting off the plane and couldn't stop crying as she felt she was home again. She isn't greek but tries to visit Crete once a year. She has learned the language too yet she is Italian and doesn't speak a word of Italian.
The Bible says we were with God when he created the Earth and Heaven so this is probably what your referring too.See the book of Genesis ch.1.
Loved this video DPG!
Santorini was zo mooi! Mooie landing, leuke video!
Ugh looks like someone really needs a lot of attention. Narcissistic much?
That is actually really cool. Very informative. Every geeky question that I would have asked answered. Thank you.

Retired now, but flew in this part of the world often. The Mediterranean is just a beautiful place. One of the few places I miss. Very nice approach and landing. Great video.
First time seeing your channel, but I always love cockpit videos. Since you asked, what I wouldn't mind seeing added is the complete taxi-in. I'm sort of an airport junkie, as well, and like seeing the whole operation.
Nice vid DPG - love your channel after only 5 mins of viewing. Great attention to detail; I'm an accountant - it takes one to know one. Landing on Santorini - you lucky gal! Looking forward to a little binge watching of your channel. Here's a like for ya!
This is a unique PoV of and a great compliment to the Greek islands. Great idea too.
I admire how cool and calm all these pilots are , such massive responsibility, they deserve every penny the earn .
First landing I ever made solo was on 15 GRK. Was a member of the Fort Hood flying and was a Cessna 150.
Great vids and great editing, just arrived back from Santorini. Our approach (Tui Airways) from Manchester was from the opposite direction, I did see many aircraft circle back to approach flying in over Kamari Beach.
