    Problem with the increased popularity: pickpockets know exactly what to look for. Especially since Fjällräven products are so recognizable and are usually bought by people who are worthwhile targets. Some of the backpacks also have close to no anti theft measures. For city travelers I would recommend other bags.

    • @goingtobed
      @goingtobed Před 4 lety +15

      Interesting take! The reason I bought a kanken is so I would blend in better. Yes, they're popular. Yes, everyone in Europe has one... which is precisely why I got it! I leave my travel bag locked up in a hostel, and put my lunch/jacket in the kanken as I run around town. They fold up very flat so it takes little space in my main bag

      Little know tip my grandpa who was in world war 2 in europe use to use the some thin wire (almost like bread bag twist ties) to lock his messenger bags he would keep infomation about line work they were doing in his army messagneger bags so when we were growing up and we had to walk to school thru wonky neighborhoods he taught us the little secret of the twist ties using the bread twist ties to hold the zipper pieces together...cant pick picket cause the zipper piece is stuck but easy for you to untie...but nowadays who the heck wants strangers closer then 6 ft to you in the new covid society...if people were that close I'd be saying hey dude six ft covid personal bubble....step back....lol .

    Hmm.. I didn’t know some of these products existed.
    My first Kanken was the Kanken Sling, and I love it.. but now I need a tiny bit more room so I recently purchased the Kanken Mini with the shoulder pads as well.
    Will definitely take a look at the passport wallet too. I’m actually looking for a replacement passport cover since my current one is from Wish and the elastic is losing its springiness.
    I adore Kanken products, so far they are the only ones who have stayed true to their promise of being durable.. I’ve had soo many bags in the past that were meant to be durable and they break or get worn out in less than a year 😑

You can also top the wallet up with Greenland Wax packhacker.com/travel-gear/fjallraven/greenland-wax/ to give it some added durability and weather-resistance.
