One of the must things to do and must visit in Tokyo is Tsukiji Outer Market. Tokyoâs fish market used to be in Tsukiji then the wholesale fish market moved to Toyosu. Whatâs left in Tsukiji include sashimi, sushi restaurants and lots of street food. Here is everything we ate at Tsukiji Outer Market, 10 Japanese street food (all in USD)
âą Tanghulu strawberry $3.7
âą Strawberry Ice cream $4.5
âą Wagyu sirloin with sea urchin or uni $30
âą Tamagoyaki or egg roll $1
âą The famous tako (octopus) senbei $3.7 and ebi (shrimp) senbei $6
âą Japanese street food / dessert: taiyaki $1.5
âą Giant oyster $4.8
âą Pork dumpling $1.5
âą Grilled eel or unagi $2.3
âą Bacon cheese fishcake $3.7
Tsukiji Outer Market TIPS: we recommend to visit Tsukiji Outer Market in the morning, start from 8AM or 9AM and queue up for the Senbei food stall just before 11AM then you can finish by 12PM. Food stalls opening hours are varied to each individual food vendor but most of them will sold out by 2 or 3PM unless itâs a restaurant so we suggest to come early for breakfast. Whilst the prices are catered for tourist so it can be seen as expensive but if you ask whether Tsukiji Outer Market is worth it going? We would say YES if you are tourist visiting Tokyo. The full experience of eating lots of Japanese street food in one place is truly fun in our opinion. Whilst there are so many sushi restaurants in this Tsukiji fish market area, you can also have sushi somewhere else in Tokyo so for us, we prefer to have the street food than sushi.
After that, we went to TeamLab Planets Tokyo in Odaiba which is highly recommended! You can purchase the entrance ticket on the spot but if you would like to reserve a time so you wonât missed it, you can purchase online like from Pelago, travel activities company by Singapore Airlines.
TeamLab Tokyo is highly recommended, a must visit place in Tokyo Japan. It is multi-sensory, fully body immersive art museum experience which wonât disappoint you and perfect for solo, couple, family and kids activities. Tickets can be purchased online from Pelago tinyurl.com/4tc88hrz with discount code: PEL15NAH
After TeamLab Planets, we went to Tokyo Joypolis to check out the indoor theme park by SEGA. Located in DECKS Tokyo Beach, it is indoor amusement park that you can enjoy especially during rainy days. We had so much fun here and for ticket, you can buy on the spot or buy ticket online from Pelago tinyurl.com/4tc88hrz with discount code: PEL15NAH
After eventful day, we went to Michelin Bib Gourmand tempura restaurant in Ginza called Tempura Abe Honten. With Yen 5,500 per person or USD41, we had really great tempura set menu and at the end of the night we were so full. We made reservation earlier in the morning for dinner by asking our hotel concierge to call the restaurant. Thatâs one of the Japan travel tips for you! Book your preferred restaurant in advance by online or ask someone who can speak Japanese to call like in this case, hotel concierge.

Hi hi, thank you very much for your vids in Japan! I'm planning a trip to Japan, landing in Haneda (HND), then plan to spend about 10 days in Hokkaido, then back to Tokyo for a couple of days and return flight from HND. Which train pass should I get? (Travelling around Oct 2023). Genuinely appreciate any input and thanks in advanced!
Or are there other alternatives like taking a flight to Hokkaido like the both of you in the videos and using the Hokkaido JR pass or something.
some say Tsukiji is too touristy, lacks authenticity.... how did you feel about it?
More than half of the world's oyster farming originates from Japanđ
