    www.byfood.com/experiences/ts...
Tsukiji Fish Market, opened in 1935, was once the largest wholesale fish market in Japan. While the Tsukiji Inner Market with its tuna auction and wholesale market moved to Toyosu in 2018, the Tsukiji Outer Market is still running with over 300 shops and restaurants.
When we visited in the morning, many of the shops were closed due to lack of tourism in recent months. However, there is still much to enjoy, like fresh produce, dishware, kitchen tools, seafood bowls, and street food!
In this video, Shizuka is joined by her friend and fellow TV personality, Leina, for a Japanese street food adventure! They try creative and flavorful styles of onigiri, a special Japanese omelet from a shop with over 90 years of history, a lightly seared aburi seafood bowl, tuna sashimi, and a local style of taiyaki called “maguroyaki.”
1 - Grilled cheese rice ball from Tsukiji Marutoyo (築地 丸豊)
2 - Miso rice ball from Tsukiji Marutoyo (築地 丸豊)
3 - Tamagoyaki from Tsukiji Marutake (丸武)
    4 - Aburi kaisendon
    5 - Tuna sashimi
6 - Red bean and matcha ice cream “maguroyaki” (a style of taiyaki) from Tsukiji Sanokiya
7 - Red bean “maguroyaki” from Tsukiji Sanokiya

That's really sad about a lot of places in Japan losing the businesses that were heavily dependent on international tourism. I think it's nice that you folks tried to show off what was left in Tsukiji, but I must say... after the auction moved, that area has dwindled. The nice thing is, like you showed, there were some leftover old timers there running their businesses. Tamago on a stick is unexpectedly awesome. There's also a little stall out in the front corner run by this sweet older lady I liked. Donburis. Specifically, ikura, was the one I got, delicious.

I super loved my Tokyo trip a couple of years ago. I’d love to bring my wife and kids for a vacation there. There were so many things to see and do! My only problem was the language barrier. I wasn’t sure if it was rude to ask for stuff in english. I didn’t want to offend anybody and I try to be sensitive to other peoples culture at the same time. I’ll definitely come back after the pandemic is over!
