I’m really excited about this platform and encourage you to give it a look! There are many different ways to donate, including one-time $5 donations (about the price of a coffee!).
If you would like to support my normal photography, then check out my print store, linked below! I am a passionate landscape and astro photographer and the profits go directly back into funding my adventures.
Make sure to visit out my TeeSpring merch store! I have a wide range of Apalapse-themed designs that you can wear around! If you enjoy the flat design-style animation that is a staple of my channel, then you’ll love the designs on my store. Check it out!

i think the movement in the photos looks really neat
my settings here:
55 mm / 500 = 0.11 (11 seconds)
How did u get that 55mm?
@@v4cutz7777 I can’t remember, I’ve had it for a while
I believe you mean 500/55mm which would be 9 seconds?
@@CheyenneSummeryes. That's the 500 rule
With my crop sensor camera I use the 330 rule instead of the 500 rule and I use a Rokinon 14mm 2.8 lens that I set at 20 seconds and get good Milky Way pictures. If I needed to go longer which I didn't my camera has Astrotracer that uses the GPS location to move the camera sensor to correct for the Earths rotation
What camera do you have and where is this in the settings? I have a canon 90d, am I able to do this?
@@davebrown1100
I have Pentax cameras a K3-11 and a K3-111 I used a Rokinon 14mm lens set at 2.8 on full frame cameras you use the 500 tuke on crop sensor cameras you use the 330 rule to determine espourse time without star trails. Pentax cameras also have astrotracker which will move the camera sensor to take longer espourse times as well as pixel shift which takes three pictures and moved the sensor one pixel then combines the three pictures in camera for a more detailed picture
Thank you
Isn't it the focal length instead field of view? (500 for FF and 300 for APS-C)
What about temperature?
how about ISO 800?
Thanks for the tips :)
No problem! Glad it was helpful!
What about sensor pixel size ?
sir may 16mm x1.6 to my apsc divided by 500? im correct
Is 30s shutter speed can cause that
If I'm using a crop sensor, do I multiply my lens's fov by my crop ratio (1.6) when following the 500 rule?
Exactly! That's why in all my vids I say lens "field of view" since field of view is directly dependent on lens focal length AND crop factor of sensor
Cool, I was actually kinda wondering why you didn't say focal length but that makes a lot of sense now. Thanks!
Help i only see black :(
How about the crop sensor? should I multiply first 500 / 1.5 x 16mm? or should I do it directly?
Crop sensor is 300 rule
fish setting
The best setting
actually :D the stars are moving not the earth because the earth is stationary. but thanks anyway
What😂 I think you are confused
@@kallesirvio2695 i think you are
That's the truth 🙌
