    Bought ! Built and Thank you.
    Lack of paperwork and mixed PDF's online made this a bit of a jigsaw to start with.
    This video sorted it all out.
    One note of caution. Screws & threads I have found from this part of the World can be made of cheese and strip easily.
    I'm glad to say not in this case, although paranoia made me VERY careful. Suggest if it feels tight then unwind and wind back in. Do not overtighten.
    My Orion2 Combo arrived double boxed, well packaged for shipping and the quality of finish is fantastic.
    I am yet to site the Throttle as I have to make some modifications to my rig. Will update again.

      @@harksgaming7455 You can't go wrong with Virpil. They're a good solid brand. The only reason why I did not go with them is the five to six week waiting time, or more for their product. It was about a week and a half for winning. They're also cheaper but the quality is also just as stellar.
      That being said there is another contender you might want to look at. Easy personally I use VKB for my foot pedals and my two fight sticks. They too are also really really well built, and extremely friendly when it comes to customer support. They just announced and I think they're releasing soon if it's not already released their own throttle. That is something I would recommend to look at.

  • @RagsHSC-7
    @RagsHSC-7 Před rokem

    I had to add on my TM 16000 m twcs and additional switch to engage the afterburner. At full throttle it would not engage like f-15 or the F-14 etc. I don't know. I binded or got rid of a key bind but as soon as I get into a dog fight the throttle can be no more than 50%. I got to hit the afterburner button and if the weather is too cold I got a hold it down for about 2 to 3 seconds. Then go full throttle and listen for the boom of the afterburner ignition. I'm sold on the winwing but I'm thinking I need the detent DCS has that option for the f-18. It is good, especially after takeoff where you're not burning. So much fuel so you can get to the tanker or get busy per se. At one time at full throttle the afterburner did work but all of a sudden it didn't. Now the TWCS of the TM you can maintain the throttle by taking the base off another screw that swivels the actuator and pop that off. Then very carefully a very tiny flathead from the south end inside the hole inside the actuator just enough to get a little meat on the tiny flathead and it pops right off. Including the A10 thrustmaster. Same thing on both sides but the 16 000 m only has 1. But they are maintainable able to do maintenance when they start to skip or not. Do what you want it to do such as go to full idle or go to full throttle sometimes in the middle. No activity at all. Take a tight q-tip little house alcohol not dripping wet. Just a little damp and the smudge that comes off of it is unreal and hard to believe as tight as that actuator is. And the gunk gets in there. I have a private room. Clean is going to be. It's just household dust I reckon. I don't know if maintenance would be required of the winwing Orion 2 Hotas with the f-18. Another question, if I do get the Orion 2 MAX I believe it should come with the metal throttle handles also with the detent and also with the lift for the detent for each engine for both at the same time. I don't believe that would be a problem because I believe the Orion is a non-contact metal bearing magnetized throttle. Where the thrustmaster is a contact actuator by a plastic rod. For the money and over 3k hours on it would just maintenance on the actuator and you have to be very gentle with that actuator but servicing it. For $150. How can you argue with that? I'm more than got my money worth and still using it. Waiting on my WINwing Orion hotas setup. Do you know if the f-18 joystick comes with the f-18 throttle base as you demonstrated? Or you have to choose yourself between an F-16 or an f-18 joystick. Deeply appreciate your video. I'm sold on it. I agree with you that the warthog is overpriced by $200 at least if they can make the Orion of such high demand and with specs that are second to none in its category. I believe the category would be towards the bottom of the high end. Haven't went much farther than that and recon of throttle controllers was thinking about the x56 rhino but I have a gut feeling that ain't going to work out. Thank you very much for the video. It definitely helped me. Hope you can answer those questions for me. Take care 🕊️

    Very helpful, thanks. My Orion 2 Throttle arrived today, and I would have had huge problems assembling it if not for this video. Do you know if there is a way to lock the finger lifts in the up position for when you are flying a helicopter, or aircraft where you don't want the notches?

    • @JPsTechReviews
      @JPsTechReviews  Před rokem

      I just looked at mine and I don't see a way to lock them up but, when moving forward and back the detent doesn't really lock it into place, it will slide through but, you feel a little bump were the detent is.
      You can also remove it pretty easy and adjust the tension on the throttle handle so it slides easier. Hope this helps.

    • @calumw8409
      @calumw8409 Před rokem

      Thanks for the reply. I've got my throttle assembled and connected to my PC thanks to your video. Having tried it out in DCS, FS2020 and P3D, I see that the detent behind idle, where the finger lifts need to be used, doesn't form part of the axis. I had assumed it would, like the Thrustmaster Airbus throttle. So there's not really a need to have it lock in the up position to use the full axis with other aircraft. It would be nice if there was a way of not having the bumps at half way, and before the afterburner detent when you are in an aircraft that doesn't have them, but I guess everything in life is a compromise. I bought the throttle for fighter jets in DCS, but it's nice not to always be moving controllers in and out of your rig when you change aircraft. I'm lazy that way.

    How does the spring loaded radar tilt control on the Winwing feel? Is it easy to make precise inputs, and how much force does it take if you compare it to the ministick next to it? I'm thinking about buying that throttle but my pedals don't have toe brakes and I was wondering if that axis is good enough to be used as a brake axis. I'm currently using one of the paddles on the back of my Thrustmaster TWCS for brakes, it works reasonably well and I just need something that isn't worse than what I have.
