- I came across this NEGLECTED property after my friend gave me a tip off. I drove by and right as I pulled up to go knock on the door, he was getting out of his car. I asked if I could clean up his yard and mow his overgrown grass for him. He asked how much I would charge for it and was absolutely stunned when I told him I would do it for free! His reaction afterwards was even better, so be sure to stay until the very end to see it... 🙃

Find an old trampoline and cut about 3 feet off of 2 sides. Flame the edges. Just the best drag tarp you can make. Lays flat. Won't blow around.
The longer I live, the more I realize that we're simply all walking each other home. Out here in PA, during winter I get my teenagers up early following snowstorms, to do snow removal (shovel sidewalks & dig the cars out) for all our elder neighbors. Videos like this truly warm my heart. Kindness seems so simple, but it's so meaningful to anyone struggling with a sense of helplessness or overwhelm. The world needs more of this!!

I believe there are lots of good folk out there. We just don't make as much noise as the "others". The town I live in has a website where people b*tch and moan all day long but when someone needs help, they are there with bells on. PD and FD have a food drive, townsfolk fill 2 trucks full. Someone needs clothing, there's a place in town for that. We have 3 food pantries. We may only have 14K people in town but we have big hearts.

As you were walking back and forth with the branches I thought, "It would be faster, maybe, if he just laid a rope down, threw the branches on the rope, tied them together and pulled a large group of them to the curb." One day when you've grown old I hope you also benefit from someone's kindness.
Along with restoring a yard you are restoring the ability of the person to get around and walk around their yard without fear of tripping over those branches and weeds. You are giving back a bit of homeowners pride as well. When one is no longer able to do the normal yard work a home requires it is disheartening, depressing. Really enjoy your videos! I am sure you have heard "work smarter, not harder" a time or two, so get a good sized tarp and a large ball of twine. Lay 2 lengths of twine about 3 ft apart and lay the brushy stuff on the twine, tie it up and make many fewer trips. A tarp can hold a lot instead of running back and forth so much also! Wonderful energy and work ethic as well as a good heart.....your work helps a lot of people with nowhere to turn! Bless your heart!

I sometimes get really sad seeing how meager some of these people have to live. In houses falling apart and yards way too big to manage. And apparently no one to help them. You bring these people relief, Spencer. A weight off of their shoulders. That's huge. There is nothing more beautiful than your generosity. Thank you for all you do.

It’s simply amazing how you shovel, edge and carve out to reveal curbs that are separate from the grass. Dirt packed, overgrown areas are so pristine when you are done. I love watching you work. The fact that this hard work is done for others is such a blessing. I pray that God gives you double for your trouble!!!

This was incredible! I'm so glad you addressed the house as well. The first thing I thought when you did the initial camera footage was I hope he takes care of the house as well before the siding is destroyed. As usual you were completely on top of everything & hopefully one day if you ever need help, someone will be there for you❣️
I see a reflection of myself at his age. It was always about the people and making connections with them and some were like family to me. Most of them passed on. I still miss the conversation and the loyalty and inspiration that these people gave me. I used to do a few freebies when I could. Usually because It was a eye sore that I got tired of seeing.
Don't count on it, I do w/out expecting...I do it for me- the exercise, paying it forward...
Here's a money making tip. In Ohio, I cut up tree limbs. After I get four logs, I bundle them up with a few pieces of kindling. I wait until I can set out at least 2 dozen bundles. Then I have a sign "Campfire wood, $5.00". I've had people buy 4 bundles at once for camping. 4 logs will burn a long time once the fire gets going.
I may have to try that haha!

Spencer, One idea I would suggest is using a tarp to lay on the ground, put limbs, clippings and other waste on, then drag that to the curb, it will allow you to move more with less effort - not as many trips, easier on your back and overall better. Other guys like the Lawn Care Juggernaut use this method and it works.

It amazes me how fast a property can go downhill when there’s nobody taking care of it. Very sad. With 8-1/2 acres to maintain, I think I’ll have to sell and downsize when we get older bc it would cost a fortune to hire someone to mow. Thanks for the positivity Spencer!!!
I am a 73 old woman and my husband is younger than me but I see it is getting harder than it used to be and he now has to take a day to recover. I have given up almost all my hobbies because of poor health so I know the appreciation and gratitude these people have when you finish. We are blessed to have a son who will help as much as he can.
