He may not have the start 85% of the time but he really finishes...which almost always gives him the edge.

And if you go by times being in the top 100 all-time is nothing to laugh at (seriously how many FAT races have been run since the 1968 Olympics in the 100m? 10s of thousands, hundreds of thousands?). I used to sprint in high school and after an Injury lost the love for it. I feel back in love with sprinting watching Asafa Powell’s form. I’ve never seen a more consistent, graceful sprinter in my life. Everyone looks like their struggling, evvvveryone. Whether he wins or loses, his form remains. Beautiful technique!

For all the asafa haters. Lyles knows a thing or two about running. He said Powell's form and whole race aspect is perfect when hes not under pressure. Hes proved it with all his WR which were outside of major champions. Asafa unfortunately is a mental midget. Asafa being perfect doesnt mean hes the fastest. Bolt is. But even bolts form was incorrect hence people said if he perfected his form or ran a perfect race hed get sub 9.5. Which he was capable of. However, asafa has consistency running sub 10 seconds. Running multiple rounds is a physiological challenge that some sprinters handle better than others. Asafa wasn't able to string together 3+ races, similar to Leroy Burrell.
Lyles is one of the best athletes in terms of love and respect for the sport. He honours those who came before him and always wants good health for his competition. Asafa is indeed the sub-10 king.
