For a professional boxer as Kevin Johnson is who I ALWAYS see doing his cardio and roadwork to be tired after sparring really makes you wonder how much running is really required to not get tired?! The amount of work these guys put in behind the scenes is different!

Sparring is a different thing. I dont think its possible to not be tired after sparring unless youre literally top .1% like floyd.
A lot of work lol everyone gets tired no matter what tho its about who gets tired last. Probably went full rounds before this too
To be honest, my coach says running doesn't really correlate to energy in the ring, more actual ring work and endurance work on the bags does. It's a different endurance in their compared to running, the quick bursts, the movement etc
@@gottacheckyourself I would have to agree. I put in some good miles in preparation for my return to boxing. I gassed out in under a minute I couldn’t even believe it. Starting to think running is just to keep boxers disciplined and mentally tough.
Kevin was smart he stayed on the ropes looking for that catch and shoot. Curmel didnt see the bait and then boom he got timed with a good 3 punch combo and it was clean. This was a good welcome to the pros moment for Curmel because pro style is more slow paced than the amateurs. Now its all about establishing the jab, working on feints...

I genuinely enjoy sparring much more than championship fights. Refs are so quick to break everything up, we see way less inside fighting. Also fighters are more scared to lose vs brawling in sparring
Because we have 14-20 ounce gloves on and headgear it’s different with 8oz gloves taking hard shots the refs just care that’s all CTE is real lol

@@robertmarshall3735cte comes from getting small hits over time. Sparring probably causes it worse than fights. Refs are there to protect fighters lives and make sure no foul play takes place like low blows, rabbit punches, intentional head butts etc. taking too much punishment can cause brain bleeds which is the leading cause of death from boxers. Maxim dadashev is a recent example of that
Start watching Japanese boxing. Not only do the refs not break up clinching as much, since all the good fights are below 122, the speed makes it so much more entertaining and enjoyable as a boxing fan.

Great talent this kid. Time will tell if he can match Gervonta. It's a big ask for the kid, but I'm sure he'll do his best. I feel Davis will always have more explosive power. Sure, Moton is only 17, so in 10 years he'll be Davis age and will have more power than he posses now, being a full grown man with experience. I would not compare either one with Iron Mike Tyson though. That man was knocking out fully grown men st the age of 13 years old regularly. He was a bigger kid, obviously a heavier kid, but still, to be knocking out grown men at the age of 13 when those men were bigger than him was insane. I suppose there is only one Iron Mike Tyson though.
