      I'm not brave enough to wear my glasses on big looping coasters anyway. I didn't even wear them on Loch Ness Monster although I feel like Nessie would most likely not remove them from my face.

  • @midnightgreenamusements1345

    I rode it on Opening Day, and I think it’s my #2 coaster behind Velocicoaster. Pantheon has better elements, but Velocicoaster is a better ride overall because of its theming, and it’s more of a complete ride.

      Pantheon is a throwback to the old school, brutal blitzes, akin to Mav & iSpeed. The Jurassic park one is more in line with the modern, more mild blitzes a la Taron & Taiga. Also, jurassic park is freaking retahhhded anyways, it’s essentially a Starbucks/Mercedes advertisement, just like all Hollie wood nonsense, so who cares about the theming?

      I still can't compare those two outside of the manufacturer. One is focused on hangtime and air time while the other is a jack of all trades.
      In the actual elements they share i think Panthéon does them better. Better drop from the top hat, better stall and S-bend.
      That rapid fire pacing on Velocicoaster is something else.
      Again I feel the two are polar opposites.

    I've gotta say I'm fascinated by new Intamin Blitz coasters. They're getting better as we speak, have interesting and unique elements and offer a full package of sensations you just can't find on other rides. Intamin is currently my favourite manufacturer, and while I've not ridden that many (Superman Escape the most notable one) I really love how they can craft incredible elements and have been doing so since before just about anyone.

    If this coaster was given the type of theming it deserves with a better entry plaza, a SIGNIFICANTLY better queue line, a better loading station and some on ride theming then this would be a contender for a top 5 coaster on earth in my opinion. I personally rank it in my top 3 because I was absolutely blown away by the actual coaster elements including the outer banked turn (which was way better for me than everything I'd heard.) But in any case, this coaster has such potential and they could have really done so much. I really hope they do some additions in the off season.

    BGW needed this, by far the best coaster there, it may not be the best coaster ever but its a start to a new generation of Intamin Multi Launch coasters. This is like a mix of Ice Breaker and Velocicoaster. That top hat and spike make it fantastic and a wonderful stall. I seriously want to try out what I think would be the 3rd best in Virginia.

    I rode it during the first Sunday in April. It was down that Friday and Saturday due to wind and some maintenance. I got 8 rides on it before I had to go to the airport, and wind was a bit of an issue on that day as well. I really liked this coaster. The speed hill going backwards was really good, and it was great going forwards the last time. The stall might be my favorite of any coaster I've been on. I prefer Velcocicoaster's Top Hat and overall to Pantheon, but Pantheon did end up in my overall Top 10. I have it #8 of 385 credits.

  • @ryancarter2537

    I got my first ever ride on this during platinum pass member preemie day meaning I was one of the very first riders on this thing and when I first got off it I absolutely loved it but it wasn’t as crazy as I was anticipating it because all the airtime hills going in turn to be strong floater with the exception of the launched bunny hills and like he stated because of the one ride only limit I only got to experience it a few times because I had extra vouchers that my family had but they didn’t use it so I use them instead so I can get a few extra rides. But then I went back later in the month for the grand opening and the ride was much better because I wrote it in the back and since it was a much warmer day the hills became insane ejector making champion on my number one currently at the moment. All the inversions give one of the craziest hangtime moments I’ve ever experienced and every time we go forwards backwards through the bunny hills it always gets me because of how insane it throws me off the train. I know there’s absolutely zero theme on this ride which I’m totally fine with because the ride experience is unbelievable based on the pacing and elements and the only night ride so I got to experience a Pantheon was during opening day when the light package was on but now like he stated it’s officially gone again so the next time I visit I’m gonna be sure to get night rides so I can experience it in pitch black darkness. I know the light package was it on when I went during pass member previews but the ride shut down at night because it was below 40° that night. Everything on Pantheon minus the theming is truly a full package roller coaster. The only thing that I would love Panthian to do is most definitely theme the ride a little more like putting some audio sound effects during the launches and break run as well as some ruins and archways but the queue is brutal marking period for a highly anticipated attraction this is by far the worst cue I have ever seen in my life and all they did was just make a circle around the station and break room and then the extended Queue is basically cattlepens on an open farm field. It’s the only part that as well themed I Pantheon is the entrance sign some signage and a soundtrack played in the queue and station. And also for a ride that is known to have one of the greatest and fastest operations I’ve ever seen it is pretty bad to have two minute operations on Pantheon we’re all you do is just sit down reach up pull down on the lap bar check it and then dispatch and this is exactly what they do on VelociCoaster and all this is done within 40 seconds. And I think they need to run an extra train because it would make the line move even faster and they advertised that they were gonna operate this ride with 3 trains. In addition I think they should install metal detectors before you approach the staircase and have free double sided lockers in which I guess will be forced to put any loose articles in them if they bring it on the ride to guarantee that no loose articles will have will ever be found on the ride. And then last but not least they need to add a single rider line because the park has recently added these on all of the 3 B&M coasters NF Pantheon adds one where the RAP line is it would be a major timesaver. I definitely get Pantheon a 10 out of 10 though because the ride is amazing and spectacular and is definitely the best coaster in Virginia and my favorite coaster ever and I am so glad that I live only 2 1/2 hours northwest in the same state as Busch Gardens Williamsburg.

    What surprised me most about Pantheon was the positive Gs. The valley after the stall was pretty crushing. But I think the backwards airtime hill is the best moment. It’s a stellar ride and right up there with Velocicoaster as my two favorite launched coasters.

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  Před 2 lety +1

      The valley after the top hat had the best Gs for me.

  • @elevatoralarmcoasterandarc1214

    Hey, Canobie Coaster! I should nickname the swing launch the freeway launch. A freeway launch accelerates the train three times without stopping. The second boost takes the train backwards to the vertical spike before gaining enough speed on the third boost to get to the top hat. The freeway launch has some of the best LSM motor sound effects on any coaster. Toutatis at Parc Asterix will also have a freeway launch, just like Pantheon. More of these coasters should feature this freeway launch.

  • @garct-7567
    @garct-7567 Před 2 lety

    Great review. I think I would say it needs landscaping more than theming. A few trees and some boulders out in the field would add some surprises and excitement. Since this ride probably wont operate at all during the fall and winter, I think they could add something if the budget allows.
    Other than Verbolten no other coaster at BGW really has an over the top theme. Especially in Fiesta Italia. All three coasters (and the flat rides) there are basically metal roofed open air queues with bright colors. That area is supposed to look like a traveling circus.
    The other coasters in the park just have more decorations and they could certainly add something later like that to Pantheon.

    • @CanobieCoaster

    It's so very Busch Gardens. Pantheon gives the park some more forceful airtime without being an assault. Impressive how good that is. I also have wanted to see the normal progression of a coaster moved around, but not sure if I'm still getting used to that or if the best parts really are shorter. It can also seem the experience is a bit choppy, but that also has a long tradition at BGW (Ness, BBW, 'Bolt).

  • @layzabullit

    When I saw POVs and rider cams from the passholder preview days there was pretty explicit direction in the station about keeping your arms down on the ride, was that still there when you visited? I'm guessing BGW would like their guests to help them prevent needing to alter those supports in the 2nd half, because as good a headchopper as they are I could easily see someone who's juuuuust under the height limit with longer arms clipping a support or two with their fingertips. They can't really enforce the "arms down" direction obviously, but it seems like they're a bit anxious about those supports and the not-so-remote possibility of needing to settle with an injured guest in the near future

That stall inversion and especially the reverse airtime was unreal. • @gregorymoore2877

    I haven't ridden Pantheon yet, but it looks like fun. (Last time I was at BGW, Apollo's Chariot was the big new ride; Big Bad Wolf existed; and Drachen Fire could be seen still standing back there, not operating, it's ultimate fate still up in the air.) The layout looks fine, but I have to disagree about the lack of scenery not being an issue. This is Busch Gardens Williamsburg, the nation's most beautiful theme park. All the other coasters there have beautiful settings. But to get to Pantheon, it looks like you have to temporarily leave Busch Gardens to ride it. Maybe that's why glasses are prohibited on the ride even with straps? That way visually impaired people won't know there's nothing to look at while on the ride? (I would not have been brave enough to wear my glasses on the ride anyway.) The 20/20 people, they can't do anything about. But even if you couldn't appreciate the scenery while actually riding the ride, they have to know people are filming and posting videos to CZcams. And on CZcams, you can pause the video at any place and study the contents of every frame. You have over 30k subscribers and you're just ONE of the people filming and posting. That's a lost of exposure. (And I do enjoy watching your POVs and reviews, so please keep filing and posting.) I just think BGW's marketing department might want to urge the higher ups to approve some budge to do some landscaping at least. My proposal, since it appears there is plenty of empty space within Pantheon's layout, would be to build a smaller ride under Pantheon, maybe a water ride, or maybe a car ride since they removed the Le Mans cars, and heavily theme that ride. The result: a new ride the family can enjoy together, with more photo ops for Pantheon, and money saved by sharing the theming between the two rides. Win, win, win!

Oh yeah by the way keep your arms down as the height limit is there for a reason 😉. Ok being serous people can shrink about a centimeter from the time they wake up to the time they go to bed and can shrink even more if your constantly standing which you are doing at a theme park. You could possibly shrink enough to be just tall enough for Pantheon by the end of the day. 🙂

    @zacg_ Před 2 lety

    I'm not sure if this is what BGW was meaning when they called it the "world's fastest multi launch coaster" but it is the fastest coaster to feature more than one section of launch track. Soaring with Dragon only has one section of launch track that uses forward and reverse LSM to accelerate the train. I know that we still usually consider that a "multi launch" since you are launched more than once. But if you are referring to the track itself as the "launch" then Pantheon has two and Soaring With Dragon has one. I know that's a subtle, stupid and utterly meaningless distinction but it's food for thought.
    That said, if that is what BGW was going for then they are really splitting hairs and they need to be more specific and specify what they mean. Of course, I can't imagine them trying to market the "World's Fastest Coaster With Multiple Launch Sections During The Layout."

    My biggest problem with Pantheon is that it's yet another multi-launch coaster in a park that has basically added nothing but multi-launch coasters since 2012 with InvadR being the one exception. The rumored Dark Castle replacement I'd rather be a powered coaster than yet ANOTHER multi-launch coaster in a park that doesn't need anymore launch coasters.
    However the layout has not impressed me at all either, it feels unfinished, like it was part of a bigger coaster cut to be its own thing. Plus I'm just fed up with the whole swing-launch gimmick at this point.
    This ride is just a perfect storm of things, if Verboten wasn't a multi-launch and instead a fitting BBW replacement then I probably would have a better opinion of the ride.
