I really like this resin, very easy to work with. You didn't measure correctly hun. If using the whole larger bottle you need to mix in the whole of the little bottle, mixed together slowly for 4 minutes. Get a level to check your surface and cover up your work whilst curing to avoid debris/bugs.
It’s worked better for me since filming. Everyone has been very kind in sharing their advice, thank you!
You didn’t mix the resin and hardener thoroughly, that’s why it’s sticky and bendy. You have to scrape the sides and the bottom while mixing and you will see the consistency change after a while to completely blended. I have had the same issue as you, it’s a rookie’s mistake. I also go a tiny blob more of the hardener every time. I know it’s a 2:1 ratio and I do that but just a little bit more to make sure it’s going to harden if I’ve mucked up my measurements. It’s an amazing resin. I buy it all the time and make coasters, trays, dog collar tags, keychains, jewelry. It’s good to leave for the 48 hrs and then pop out the mould and keep flat for a day or so just to harden completely. Try again, you will be impressed I promise. And no I’m not sponsored buy Kmart.
Also inside in room temp is fine. I live in Qld
Thank you!
Thanks for doing that babe. I was wondering what the resin was like from Kmart. I have some projects here for some resin. Something in this project that scares me hahaha so I keep putting it off. But seeing your video helps alot. Would love to see you do a similar project but with a resin you prefer.
That is the plan!!! Gonna be a series of trials!
@@ThatPropsGirl can't wait.
We use this resin daily for coasters whole heart keyrings etc and unless your temp in your house is set properly then it won't dry properly and will be floppy and the bubbles you need to use heat to get them out. Don't put it in the sun to dry and you said put side where temperatures fluctuate.
I use this resin all the time and love it
That’s so great! What do you make?
@@ThatPropsGirl key ring and earrings
I think with resin both when you’re casting it and curing it the room has to be between 24-30 degrees Celsius though some people say the window is even smaller than that ....thanks for the review
Thanks for the tip!
I used this for a shelf top and it set fine
i’ve used this resin it’s good because it’s cheap lol
i usually do my art in small amounts, i go 5mL of hardener and 10mL the resin (or 10mL hardener 20mL resin stuff lol)
and i’ve been making earrings
most of the time it works for me but some times it doesn't. but thanks for the review
Agreed! Thanks for watching
I came across your video recently, and hoped you or someone could help. I used the KMart resin on a wooden box with a routered groove in the top of the lid. After reading a few reviews I increased the amount of hardener as recommended to help the resin set. After a week the resin is still sticky on top. Is there anything I can do to save this. Would another thin clear layer over the top help or ruin it? Any suggestions?
I am not an expert but from the other times I tried it, if it’s sticky we might not have mixed it correctly. I am sorry of couldn’t be of more help!
the mixing was wrong.
If you didn’t measure out part A and part B chemicals accurately and mix properly the resin will never fully harden.
I have had better results since! Practice makes perfect
@@ThatPropsGirl are the measurements on the packaging incorrect?
@@detspek I am beginning to wonder
For me the kmart resin cracked and I don't think it is worth it 😢 I tryed 3 different room in my house to let it set
I also tried some more stuff again and it's not set hard, it's all still bendy so I also don't think it's great if you're wanting to make anything substantial
IT TAKES AWHILE TO SET, I HAVE USED AND PREFER THE KMART RESIN
That’s great!
You've done something wrong
