I’ve been touring for years and never heard of a bus driver staying anywhere other than a hotel… the exception being Europe, where the buses are setup differently and the driver has his own area to live in.

More of an unspoken rule on any tour bus or travel coach. Unless it's an emergency and you're about to unleash Niagara Falls from your ass you use a public restroom or your hotel room toilet. If you absolutely have to use the bus people shit in a bag and throw it out in the trash or out the window. Any touring band or act has that rule.
Do people really not understand that RV's & busses have toilets & holding tanks for reasons, like so people can actually use them?? Crack the window or roof vent & turn on the fan, that's all it takes. Yes, use public restrooms when they are available, but when you gotta go, you gotta go... it takes weeks to fill up a black water tank.

Truck stop showers aren't like gym showers. They have individual showers you have to yourself and a locking door. They're actually pretty good.

Truck stop showers are nice. I was roofing a cabin in the north woods in WI and we didn't have running water. I had great dumps and great showers at the truck stop. Nice and clean. Petro got my back.

My boyfriend of two months died & I had an identity crisis so I ran away from home & ended up selling cherries with a bunch of Cubans on the side of the road in Oregon. Everyone was actually sweet & kind. I cleaned houses for this Indian lady for a bit to save up money. I came home safely & all. Spent like 6 or 7 years as a prostitute addicted to heroin but I’m 32, engaged, & 7 months pregnant right now. It was fun I’m lucky I wasn’t robbed or something

I have taken thousands of truck stop showers. Pressure and heat is good. Cleanliness is up to par most of the time. Shower shoes goes without saying. I spray them off when I'm done and have a plastic bag to separate them in my bag from other stuff.
My hot water heater went to shit on me so I went to a Truck Stop to shower, and they are great. No lie. I've also showered at the YMCA. The YMCA has a Sauna too! Double win.

If you're ever in Wyoming, try the Little America showers, they're crazy nice, marble walls and shit.

I used to move furniture with my step dad for Mayflower.. we'd travel from coast to coast. When I was about 16 or so maybe.... a "lot lizard" offered to "date" me for 9 dollars. I'm not kidding. She just said she needed the 9 dollars for her kid to get food or something... I thought it was a stupid number. Why not just round up to 10? Anyway, after we were finished .....

As a truck driver, I can confirm that pilot and flying j truck stop shower rooms are usually very very nice. They are generally cleaned after every use.

An imprisoned serial killer/former truck driver said there are definitely a subset of truckers who are serial killers. He was part of a group of 5-6 truck driving serial killers who kept in touch and traded girls. He said two of the drivers who were part of the group were women. Most law enforcement agencies have no clue that so many women are being kidnapped and murdered; because they pick up a woman in one state and dump their body in another state. The term “Lot Lizard” is pretty much only known in popular culture these days because of author JT LeRoy. She faked her identity and said she was male. She said her mom was a “Lot Lizard”. She claimed that her mom dressed “him” up as a girl and that she was forced into prostitution. As it turned out, JT LeRoy was a married woman, with a child who called Suicide Hotlines and told the councilors this lie. Oh and that “he” also had AIDS. Asia Argento directed and starred in an alleged biopic based on JT LeRoy’s book “Sarah”. The movie title was lifted from another JT LeRoy book, “The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things.” Anyway, laughing at “Lot Lizards” is pretty much like thinking laughing at Cancer patients is hilarious. 😑

Truck stops do have good showers I had to stay in my car a few nights when I moved back to the northwest from Texas parked outside of a nice truck stop wasn’t bothered once and I used the showers they had inside and no joke clean as can be smelled good the body wash they had smelled amazing like a high end cologne the pressure was on point and the cleanliness and space was amazing I ended up chilling after my shower and scrolled through CZcams and IG for a bit while charging my phone the road life doesn’t seem to be tbh you travel you get to see the country and make a living seriously thinking on getting my CDL and I can send Ted and mom videos of my lot lizard adventures
My dad was a truck driver and I used to go with him in the summers. The showers are nice, lol. Bring your own flip flops. My dad taught me the saying “Here lizard, lizard, lizard”🦎 when I was about 9. Good times, lol.

The most lot lizards I have ever seen was in D.C. They were so thick when the cops rolled through it looked like cockroaches scattering under the trailers. I've been driving for about 3 years and stopped at truck stops about 1000 times and I've only seen about 5 lot lizards.

Truck Stop Showers are legit depending on the Stop you're at. I had the same thoughts until I went into one. Fucking water pressure had my bare ass pinned against the wall like the Police turned the Hoses on me. Swear I felt cleaner leaving that shower than any Hotel room I've stayed in. The entire time I never felt a drop in water temperature or pressure. It was amazing.
(Key Points: They're individual Showers. Like little bathrooms but for a Shower. You pay, and then wait for a Shower to open up which can sometimes be a little bit. Wear Flip Flops, seriously. They're clean showers but....we've all seen some crusty looking truckers so why risk it.)
As a trucker I can confirm al of this. I was writing my essay one night for my Writing class, decided to run inside to use the bathroom. Walked into the Loves and there’s a man doing lines off the bathroom counter with a sleeper leaper. I quickly piss and walk out. As I’m getting back to my tractor there’s the same two people jumping into the cab of a P4. Never a full moment at the Loves TS in Utah.
As a former trucker. . . Can confirm. Love’s, TA’s, and Flying Vs are the strangest congregations of weirdos in the entire country.
