Can we appreciate how Mike not only makes sure to pronounce things correctly, but even educates the viewer in editing too? I had no idea that's how Korean names worked and I love how Mike makes sure not to make fun of spelling or different kinds of names

I played half of the original game, and I always found it scary that the janitor was violent. Now that I know he's only possessed, it's kind of disappointing. 😂

What about the nerdy girl? So-Young even mentions her during the end of the true ending here.
I think she’s an innocent bystander in all of this.
there is actually an ending where you can meet her and save her (if i remember right, it’s been awhile since i last saw this game)
there’s also another girl with long, black hair you can get an ending with too
@nelloed if I recall, there's 3 endings with So-Young, 2 with Ji-Hyun (which trigger when you encounter her last and avoid the Labyrinth section entirely), 2 with Sung-A (one where she wins and leaves in So-Young's body, and one where Hee-Min apparently died and is stuck at the school with her forever), and 1 where Na-Young kills you.
"He must trip the fire alarm to defeat the grieving mother" is a hilarious sentence out of context.

Well technically the original white day had two main versions outside the regular original Korean release One was pretty butchered when it came to the translation into English and then the next one was pretty corrected

Just once I want a story where the attempt to resurrect the dead goes terrific and everyone just has to deal with it.
That's actually one of the endings(Ebony) where Sung-a successfully body swaps with So-young leaving the latter's soul trapped inside the school forever.
The lesson is to let the dead rest. This is a theme of alot of stories with this theme. Noctubulant have that theme too, but least one of the endings let you live with letting the risen dead live on after putting to rest the spirit of the woman who gave her life

Technically the rituals _do_ always go well, it's just that the ghosts don't seem to like being resurrected 💀

Man, this really explains everything that happens in the game, I got really confused on who really are the characters and why are those ghosts trap in the school. Now I understand the story, thank you for making this. Big-ups to you Sir.
Okay but can we talk about the animation and rigging of the character models and their aesthethic for a moment? It feels like playing through a horror/drama webtoon like Chasing Tails and the faces are so expressive they show emotions perfectly in a very human-like manner and not one angle chosen for the cutscenes is similar to the other. Maybe some scenes are a bit downplayed (especially seeing the voice actors work in english being more dramatical in tone), but they are still good. Amazing job by the art team on this one.

In the old version of the game, Hee-Min wanted to give So-Yong chocolate and convey his feelings on White Day which is sort of a make-up day after Valentines Day for people who weren’t able to give chocolate to people that hadn’t received any.
Actually that's not quite right. In Korea and Japan, White day is when boy's give chocolate or gifts to the girls they like whereas Valentine's day is for women to give chocolates to their significant other. Basically it's a day to reciprocate the gifts you got on Valentine's Day to your significant other and it occurs one month after Valentine's Day.
I liked the fact that even after saving her life, going through all that, giving her expensive chocolates, not peeping into her diary, freeing all the ghosts and all WE STILL GOT FRIENDZONED!

Hey Mike, in case you didn’t know the people that made White Day are planning on doing a sequel/prequel however no information or date when it will come out.
I remembered aesthetic gamer plays the original one and I was in tears. It was a tragic take of a girl who is misunderstood, got an asthma attack and died but damn the ghosts scared me to death in the first one
One thing I can't quite get over my head is, how does the protagonist know that So-young and Ji-hyun have gone back to school at night? He couldn't have followed them around all day, could he?
The reason is in the name of game White day. I dont properly know but there is a Day in Korea called white day on which u guft chocolate to your GF or ur crush so most boys used to enter school at night before white day and put in the desk of their crush which was lee mins motive to enter school at night ( plus to also put her diary there)

DUDE Ive watched (no lie) like 5 playthroughs of this game and NOWHERE do they explain what exactly happened. For example, why is So Young at school, who is the hanging girl and never in my wildest dreams it occurred to me that the teacher and the mother were trying to bring back another dead girl.

off-topic, but when I saw the main protagonist in the first cutscene I really thought of "sempai" from yan sim and thought that THIS is how he should look like. Soft and approachable, also actually a very good-looking dude. So to hear that this game was from 2014 really says something.

White Day is one of my favorite games, ever. I'll never forget how much it influenced me. From when I first played the game in 2011, to playing it for my 50th time in 2021. I love this game so much, What a beautiful, fantastic game. ♥

Okay can someone help me out here? At the flashback he shows at 6:35, shy girls says how Sung-A always talks to So-Young at school and stuff. Like, we can see from the cutscene that So-Young doesn't really react much. But does this mean shy girl had seen Sung-A as a ghost like, all the time? During the day? During school hours? And no one else noticed? Or other people did notice and didn't ask tho tf she is?? I feel like we need an explanation of shy girl's side of things, because the ending confused me SO much due to that flashback alone.
When I first seen the cutscene you are referring to; I completely misinterpreted it. Shy girl (btw her name is ji-hyeon) hints at seong-ah being a ghost by her dialog. Later scenes with hee-min and so-yeong with seong-ah present reveal this. It's not explained in the remake of white day (afair) as to why ji-hyeon and hee-min are able to see seong-ah's ghost. My guess would be since seong-ah is using both, ji-hyeon and hee-min, to gather the talismans, she reveals herself to them.
I don’t think So Young is working with Sung Ah to assist Hee Min. If you look at it closely, it seems like out of all the characters in the game, only So Young never acknowledged the existence of Sung Ah. I’m guessing So Young can’t actually see Sung Ah as she is a ghost/Sung Ah doesn’t show her physical form in front of So Young.
Sung Ah yelling as So Young “ignores” her when she was going to the new building. Remember Ji Hyeon’s flashback? Sung Ah getting angry at So Young as she is walking away. Only Sung Ah is talking to So Young when she sits near the classroom window. In Ji Hyeon’s eyes they are communicating but in the eyes (and ears) of So Young, no one is there. Also immediately after putting in the Fire Token, as So Young is walking up to Hee Min, she didn’t even noticed Sung Ah was there as shown in 14:55
