  • Trent gives an explication, drills and exercises to help you master the rubber band effect on your disc golf backhand throw. The disc golf backhand throw is a very complex and athletic movement, but if you master the rubber band effect you will gain an amazing amount of distance on your throw, while not stressing your arm.

I appreciate the exercise recommendations. I sit a lot during the day and I can see how these exercises could improve flexibility and core strength needed for the disc gold throw. Well done.

Ive been playing for 8 years now, and have watched tons of videos of rubber band effect, and although I understand the procedure, its been somehow mainly hebrew to me how to ACTUALLY make it work. This video gave me lots of lightbulb moments just by watching it once. My brain felt like lots of locks just popped off, and it felt really awesome. Thank you ❤️

So very well done!. I only wished I could produce this type of video when I was a medical illustrator and getting my start as a disc golfer in 1985. Back then the advanced study of muscle groups in motion were most available to medical practitioners.. Similar analysis of the phalanges will completely unravel the mysteries of the optimal throwing techniques for disc golf. I hope all this new knowledge revolutionizes the sport eliminating the need for discs with the most sharply edged profiles thrown on ever increasing tracks of land..

Great tips, sketches for humanity also brought up sticking your shoulder out more via the scapula....it really helps loosen the arm up big time!

An amazing lesson. I believed the back was involved and had to have tension but was trying to find info about flexing the shoulder in toward the chest looking for a basis for or against . This made it so clear the myotatic reflex has to be overcome to loosen the arm. Incredible insight. Thanks.

Great stuff, I've been working in this direction but without the full theory, this puts the pieces together really well, and I really appreciate the variety of exercises. So important not to get injured, so surviving the time increasing strength & flexibility is so key before trying to max this out in the course is crucial.
