  • The journey of Faxian is one of the most incredible in human history. By foot, he traveled from his home in central China to the far away land of India - where he encountered a surprisingly tolerant society, some truly ancient ruins and the first recorded hospital.

And as for Spain it was conquered by Umayyad dynasty who were imperialist and abolished the political system of Islam and even in Spain they didn't persecute anyone and a fact that Jewsish cultural golden age started under Muslim rule of Spain and Christians were also tolerated. And u tell me if Hindus were persecuted why even today Hindus are a majority in most of India. Why r there Christians in Egypt when it was continuously ruled by Muslims for 1400 years. 6:47 "Every year on the 8th day in the 2nd month, they celebrate a procession of images"
    I believe this is a description of Shiva Ratri (the night of Shiva)
    Faxian is likely using the Chinese calendar when speaking to his Chinese audience. The equivalent day on the Hindu calendar would be the 8th day of the bright fortnight in the month of Phalguni. This is five days before Shiva Ratri, one of the largest Hindu festivals.
    It may be processions of the various deities of Pataliputra began in the week leading up to the festival.
    Faxian further describes continuous overnight worship at 7:35. He describes this as happening all throughout India, which it still does to this day on Shiva Ratri.

    • @ssam00
      @ssam00 Před 4 lety +19

      It could be other festivals too. There are many calendars in India and Phalgun is not the second month in many of those. It could be Durga Puja/ Navaratri which happens on literally the 8th day of the waning lunar fortnight in Ashwin (September-October) or, as per older traditions, in Chaitra (March-April). Processions remind one of Ratha Yatra. It can also be some ancient festival now forgotten or celebrated differently

    While in Pataliputra, Fa Xian observed a festival during which the people built gigantic four-wheel wagons and then built towers on them that were five storeys high. They then covered the towers in fine white linen and decorated them with canopies of embroidered silk. He says that the people placed idols of their gods within these structures and images of the Buddha on the corners of the wagons.
    On the day of the festival, twenty such wagons would be pulled through the city in a grand procession. Devotees from everywhere, ranging from the royal family to the poor, were part of the festivities. They offered prayers and flowers to the gods and lit lamps in the evening. The whole city became like a fair ground with amusements and games. On this day, the rich made generous donations to the poor and physicians even held free health clinics for them.
    This shows how the marxists made up fake enmity between Buddhists and Sanatana Dharmiks.

Most professionally recorded chants or traditional music need copyright clearance/permission to use and they cost a lot. Even simply grabbing music from, say, other CZcams videos or your CDs, to use in your video is considered copyright infringement. Smaller or personal channels might get away with using copyrighted music but channels that wish to grow know to avoid them for the risk of copyright claims.

      Modern India is still much more advanced than ancient India. This is an ancient Chinese monk being impressed by a region that is relatively more advanced than what he's used to back home. That doesn't mean it was advanced by our standards. The only reason we think we're backward today is because we compare ourselves to advanced first world nations. It's all about who you're comparing yourself to. An average Indian today has a much better life than an average Indian in the 4th century. But the 4th century (higher caste) Indian had a better life than a Chinese contemporary. Like an average Australian has a better life today than an Indian contemporary.

      Badass Hindu They crushed an already destitute and near-crumbling empire, which is why they gained control fast. It’s calling “striking when the iron is hot”. Let’s not forget that the last time a Hindu sovereign took control of the Delhi throne, a reign which lasted for a few weeks, he was beaten and dethroned by the army of a mere 13 year old boy.

      It is sad for people living now in Pakistan , Bangladesh and India that instead of celebrating their common history and their common ancestors , they are only capable of hating each other. How great would it be for Indien subcontinent, if they can overcome the division and restore the high socio-economic and environmental development that ancient India had achieved!? Yes foreign invations was the main reason why India lost her greatness but Indians have fair share in this tragedy because they did not care for their heritage!!! Hopefully young generation of Indiens will rediscover and restore the knowledge of their ancestors . Combining new scientific and technological knowhow with ancient wisdom knowledge, India would definitely shine beyond her borders and could a light in the “ darkness” the modern ego centric world!!!

    So different from modern day India, ruined and destroyed mainly by Mughals. It is said that the first mosque built in Delhi, the "Quwwat al-Islam" (near Qutb Minar) was built after the Jain temples. Jain's who do not even wish to harm an ant, those are the temples which were first destroyed.

    Why is nobody talking about 6:03 where he mentions that the massive yet beautiful" Royal Palaces and intricate art work in the massive hall ways across the various cities were created / made BY SPIRITS which were employed / controlled by these mighty kings . These SPIRITS piled up and lifted the stones which weighed anywhere from 1 ton to 50 sometimes even 100 tons with ease and also created beautiful artwork and sculptures which are impossible even today with means of all the technology at our disposal we still cannot carve hard rocks and stones into beautiful sculptures that one sees in the temples of Khajuraho, Ajanta Ellora or the maasive sky high temples of the south. There was some kind of alien technology being used here and the monks called them "SPIRITS" which these mighty hindu kings had but sadly all that has been destroyed by the Mughals earlier & whatever was left the British Empire destroyed it. No wonder neither the Mughals nor the British structures have any kind of intricate and highly detailed sculptures in any of their monuments the likes of which are seen in these Indian palaces & temples even today. Even the Taj Mahal considered to be one of the 8th wonders of the world Does Not have a single detailed sculpture and pales in comparison to the thousands of hindu temples across the length and breadth of India. Look at the Dilwara Temples , Khajuraho , temples in the north & south. The Mughals could never understand / master / achieve those technologies or control them so they destroyed them and the rest what was left of the mightiest and richest nation in the world was pillaged and plundered by the British EAST INDIA CO & Royals for more than 200 years. India never Invaded or attacked any other nation till date and still it was the most powerful. Scholars like these chinese monks would travel from far and wide across the world to India for its teachings at Nalanda which was the university of the world ! All destroyed by the Mughals.
